Weekly tarot horoscope reading for September 2 to September 8, 2024

Get ready for a new week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

An upcoming Uranus retrograde forces you to slow down, stop relying on tech or data, and get back to trusting your instincts and living more fully in the present, without distraction.

The New Moon in Virgo brings an urge to streamline and declutter your life, home, and mental stimulus accordingly. Less is more. You feel like you want things to be simpler, easier, and less busy.

You feel like you’re more effective when you’re focused and organised around direct, clear objectives. Life always gets chaotic but it’s better to at least start simple, right?

Let the tarot guide you to the one step you can make this week to de-clutter and streamline your lifestyle, making life just easier and simpler!

    Aries

    March 21 to April 20

What do you want to introduce? (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aries for this week: Ace of Wands

Meaning: Start a new system, organisation style, or project to actually create something that keeps you flowing as easily, quickly, and without interference as possible – from bills to exercise to meal prep to admin to work tasks. It’s all in scope.

New ways and means are the way forward. You are ready to overhaul and introduce fresh thinking to your everyday way of living. Try different things. Ask for advice. See how others do it. Adopt what you think might work, test drive it.

    Taurus

    April 21 to May 21

Marie Kondo-ify your life (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Taurus for this week: Five of Coins

Meaning: You are a hoarder. You find it very hard to let go of anything you claim as a possession. You get funny about de-cluttering and clearing out, unless you do it ruthlessly almost as soon as you’ve used something once (before the attachment starts!).

This week, be ruthless. Go through your possessions, to-do list, friendship circle, weekly commitments etc and strike off anything that has served its purpose, doesn’t bring use or joy, or feels old and stale. Get rid.

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Taurus

    Gemini

    May 22 to June 21

Time for some emotional homework (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Gemini for this week: Ace of Swords

Meaning: You have got a mind or mental overwhelm situation brewing – too many thoughts, opinions, ideas, and stuff swirling around in that big old brain of yours… so take a load off.

Spend this week expressing yourself – to others out loud, to the mirror, to your journal, to a voice recorder. Get all of this mental clutter out of your head. Make lists. Let things go. Forgive and forget. Move on. Cancel stuff that isn’t working. Act on the truth of what you feel, playing to the truth will be what gets you through this to a better position.

    Cancer

    June 22 to July 23

Get out there this week (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Cancer for this week: Knight of Cups

Meaning: Your social life is an area that is ready for some attention. The Knight of Cups sweeps in to ask you to make more effort in arranging, suggesting, researching the things you really fancy doing – be they outings, hobbies, trips, homely gatherings or new activities.

Nothing happens without it being sorted out and it’s time for yours truly to step up and make what you want to happen actually happen! Get the ball rolling and others will join in and help. People want to spend time with you!

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Cancer

    Leo

    July 24 to August 23

Being stubborn will get you nowhere (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Leo for this week: Justice

Meaning: You might hate me saying this but Justice would suggest that if only you’d take the well-meaning and good advice offered to you by others then your life would be easier! People have been helping and suggesting ways of doing things differently, but you’ve been resisting because it triggers your pride or ego to think others don’t like what you’re doing.

Put all of that aside and just accept this person has a point. Take the advice, it’s free and it comes from a good place. Stop being proud and defensive.

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Leo

    Virgo

    August 24 to September 23

Organisation comes easy for you (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Virgo for this week: The Hermit

Meaning: The Hermit is actually your tarot talisman card, representing your sign’s thirst for intelligence and knowledge. So, guess what… you do actually know best! Perhaps your only distraction from living your life organised and calm is when you listen to other people and let them browbeat you into doing it in a way you didn’t really want to.

So, trust yourself Virgo. You are the supreme of admin and organising and knowing how to practically do things perfectly!

    Libra

    September 24 to October 23

Use that natural talent for finding the middle ground (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Libra for this week: Knight of Swords

Meaning: You need to be assertive this week and push back on things which aren’t actually your responsibility or problem, but are being nudged in your direction. Create a boundary, say no, draw a line, be bold.

The Knight of Swords will help you to say what needs to be said without it sounding angry or aggressive. You are a natural diplomat anyway but you just need to up the force with how you land your points. Don’t be taken advantage of. Don’t do what others ought to be doing. It’s on them, not you.

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Libra

    Scorpio

    October 24 to November 22

Enough is enough, Scorpio (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Scorpio for this week: Five of Wands

Meaning: Too much of your energy has been siphoned off by negative or toxic people or situations recently, and it’s draining because you simply can’t win there. So, withdraw. Your ego makes you think that means quitting, but it’s actually wisdom and self preservation. Why give your time (freely) to idiots?

You have bigger, better brighter priorities and actions to tackle. You are pouring water into a hole-ly bucket. Stop! Invest in positive, healthy, happy, sustainable places and feel the rewards immediately.

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Scorpio

    Sagittarius

    November 23 to December 21

You can’t pour from an empty cup (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Sagittarius for this week: Judgment

Meaning: Design your everyday life to serve, suit, and sustain you, and you alone. Even if others rely on you… if you’re not happy, well, capable, and enthused, then you won’t give them what they need. So put yourself first. Might feel selfish but it is not.

Judgment shows you’re going through a process of really learning what you want, like, and need. You have enough insight now to make some practical changes to how you live in order to deliver some of this. Do it this week.

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Sagittarius

    Capricorn

    December 22 to January 21

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results isn’t wise (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Capricorn for this week: The Hanged Man

Meaning: To say what a practical person you are, you can get stuck in some strange ruts and habits which really don’t serve you well at all. You can be stubborn!

The Hanged Man asks you to be honest about a system, habit, process, or task that is just not working out. It’s a flop. Admit it. And then stop doing it. Go ask a few people what they think about it and get outside opinions. You are missing a trick. You need to get out of your head and find a new angle into this ‘thing’, and then it can work wonders!

Head here for everything you need to know about being a Capricorn

    Aquarius

    January 22 to February 19

    Keep it simple (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Aquarius for this week: Seven of Wands

Meaning: Too many competing demands and pressures right now. You can’t see the wood for the trees because the wood is too crowded! Get your metaphorical axe out and start stripping back and pruning how much there is.

When it’s clearer, you will think clearer, and the next steps will be visible and obvious. Right now, it’s impossible to make forward progress because you’re pulled in all directions. It’s a struggle just to stand still! Streamline.

Head here for everything you need to know about being an Aquarius

    Pisces

    February 20 to March 20

Get some outside input (Picture: Getty/Metro.co.uk)

Tarot card for Pisces for this week: The Hierophant

Meaning: Go find your most practical, shrewd, realistic, and capable friends, family, and colleagues and get all of their best life advice, tips, hacks and input. What would they do in your shoes, regarding various things? What next step would they take? What do they wish they’d have known way back when?

Use this info. You can leapfrog ahead to sound solutions when you use the wisdom of others to pressure test your own ideas or instincts. And you will also enjoy these conversations very much!

  • Why the Champions League is Football’s Most Important Competition

Why the Champions League is Football’s Most Important Competition

    Key Takeaways

    • The Champions League is Europe’s top club competition & elevates winning teams into football elite.
    • Real Madrid leads with 15 titles, followed by AC Milan with 7. Spain dominates the most wins.
    • The Champions League attracts a global audience, generates high revenue, & remains a lucrative sporting event.

The Champions League is considered to be the most prestigious club competition in world football and is contested between the best clubs from around Europe.

The annual tournament in its current format sees 36 teams from across Europe’s top leagues compete to be crowned the champions of European club football. Winning the distinguished trophy writes teams and players alike into the annals of history as they can hold their accomplishments up against the very best that the sport of football has to offer.

Seeing the best of the best face each other head-to-head never fails to capture the imagination of football fans across the world with some of the tournament’s most historic moments forever etched into the minds of supporters from across multiple generations and becoming part of football folklore.

Both the financial and sporting rewards that the Champions League offers mean that success in the competition will immediately elevate any club that wins it into the upper echelon of club football and cement their name among the elite teams in the sport’s history.

    Champions League Origins

How the illustrious competition was born

Liverpool celebrate with the European Cup

The first tournament of its kind was introduced in 1955 and was named the ‘Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens’ (which means European Champion Clubs’ Cup in French), commonly known as the European Cup among football fans. Originally, the competition only included the champions of Europe’s top domestic leagues, who competed in a straight knockout-style tournament to determine the best club on the continent.

From the original tournament in the 1955/56 season to the 1959/60 edition, Real Madrid lifted the trophy on five consecutive occasions, a record that still stands to this day.

In 1992 the competition was rebranded as the Champions League and introduced a round-robin group stage that took place before the knockout stages of the tournament. The new-look competition also allowed multiple teams from certain countries to compete for the first time, a choice that has remained to this day with some of Europe’s top leagues now having up to four Champions League representatives.

The most successful nation in the tournament is Spain, who have had a club from their nation win the tournament on 20 occasions (Real Madrid winning 15 and Barcelona winning 5). England lead the way with the most winning teams, with six different clubs lifting the trophy (Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Manchester City). An elusive list of Champions League winners.

In the 2019/20 season, Bayern Munich became the first, and only (at the time of writing), team to win the Champions League with a perfect record. The German giants won each of their six group stage matches and all five of their knockout games, eventually defeating Paris Saint Germain in the final, thanks to a goal from Kingsley Coman.

    The World is Watching

2013 Champions League Final Bayern Lifting Trophy

The Champions League has become one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. In terms of football, it is the most-watched club competition in the world and third overall, only behind the UEFA European Championships and FIFA World Cup tournaments.

The tournament transcends the continent in which it is competed and pulls in a huge worldwide audience each year. Over the last few years, it has become the most-watched annual sporting competition in the world. The 2012/13 tournament, which was won by Bayern Munich, pulled in an approximate viewership of 360 million television viewers – this remains the Champions League’s highest TV rating to date.

    Prize Money

The key factor in the competition’s prestige

    Champions League football

The prize money and distributed revenue associated with the competition are big money-makers for the clubs involved and are determined by the television market value of each country, skyrocketing the prestige and importance of the Champions League as a whole. During the 2019/20 season, PSG (the runners-up) earned more money overall than the eventual winners Bayern Munich. PSG earned a total of €126.8 million (€101.3 million in prize money) while Bayern received €125.46 million (€112.96 million in prize money).

The global success of the Champions League has seen it become one of the most lucrative football tournaments on the planet. The prize money for the 2024/25 competition will see clubs earn €2,100,000 for each victory in the league phase of the tournament with the overall winners earning €25,000,000 just from winning the final.

Real Madrid, the most successful in the competition’s history, have continued their dominance in recent years, adding five titles to their collection between 2016 and 2024, giving them a total of 15 Champions League victories and putting them far out in front of second place AC Milan, who have won the competition on seven occasions.

Shangri-La Eros New Delhi invited patrons to an exclusive culinary experience at Shang Palace – The Clawsome Chobster Feast. Chobster is a unique concept that combines the flavours of chicken and lobster. Wondering how that tastes? We tried the menu at Shang Palace, and let us tell you, it was absolutely smashing. We started our meal with Spicy Chicken Salad with Green Apple Mint and Pine Nuts. The salad was so flavourful and refreshing that we wiped off the plate in minutes. From Hot Appetizers, Chongqing Lobster is a must-try. Fried lobster bits mixed with Sichuan peppers was a fiery delight that we loved. We tried Dim Sum – Kafir Lime Lobster dumpling with caviar, and also Lobster and chicken shou mai with xo. While both were good, we liked the former variety better. You can’t miss the Fried trio organic wild rice (lobster chicken and egg) from the Main Course. The mildly flavoured rice dish is enough to satiate your tummy and heart.

  • College football winners, losers in Week 1: Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola shines, Florida hits rock bottom

College football winners, losers in Week 1: Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola shines, Florida hits rock bottom

The first week of the college football season had everything. There was a heavyweight matchup between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 20 Texas A&M that came down to the final minutes and national championship contenders showed weaknesses ahead of big Week 2 showdowns.

But perhaps the biggest winners and losers are the teams whose fortunes changed in an instant. Florida dug itself a hole against No. 19 Miami that it may be unable to escape. The Fighting Irish may have set up a runway to the College Football Playoff. Clemson could already be heading back to the drawing board for this season. And even better? In Week 2, we’ll decide all over again.

Here are some of the biggest winners and losers of college football’s Week 1, including the debuts of a few high-profile prospects that could change the sport.

    Winner: Class of 2024

When Nebraska landed Dylan Raiola, he became one of the most high-profile quarterback recruits in school history. It didn’t take long for him to make his presence known. Raiola found receiver Isaiah Neyor for a nearly 60-yard touchdown, one of his two scores in a massive win against UTEP to give Cornhuskers fans their most hope in years.

Raiola was only one of several high-profile Class of 2024 recruits to make themselves heard in Week 1. Running backs Taylor Tatum (Oklahoma), Nate Frazier (Georgia) and Jerrick Gibson (Texas) all found the end zone. Defensive end Dylan Stewart (South Carolina) forced a key fumble to survive Old Dominion.

The biggest winners of the week might have been the incredible wide receiver class. Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith dropped his first pass and then went on to have 92 yards and two scores. Alabama’s Ryan Williams only had two catches against Western Kentucky, but both were touchdowns and one was for 84 yards. Auburn’s Cam Coleman had 62 yards and a score. This could be an all-time wide receiver class.

    Loser: Oregon

The Ducks entered 2024 alongside Georgia and Ohio State as the chief national title picks and among the most hyped programs in the sport. It took exactly one game for things to come crashing down. The Ducks escaped Idaho with a 24-14 victory, but the Vandals exposed major holes.

Chiefly, the Ducks have major structural issues on the offensive line. After giving up only five total sacks in each of the past two seasons, FCS Idaho sacked Dillon Gabriel three times. Even when adjusting for sacks, the Ducks mustered only 3.8 yards per carry, which was actually worse than the Vandals. Oregon failed on two fourth-down conversions and needed an Idaho offsides penalty to avoid a third turnover on downs and set up a game-deciding touchdown.

Right now, Oregon does not look the part of a conference championship contender, much less national title contender. The Ducks have serious issues, and next week Boise State very well could expose some of them.

    Winner: Iowa offense

The first half looked like the same old disaster of the previous years. But when the second half rolled around, Iowa football showed serious promise. In a 40-0 win over Illinois State, the Hawkeyes reached 30 points in a half for the first time since 2021. They threw for three touchdowns in a game for the first time since 2021. They posted their biggest shutout win since 2018 and posted their best yardage since 2019.

But perhaps most special, the youth stood out. Freshman Reece Vander Zee became the first Iowa receiver to record two touchdowns since 2022 — not in a game, but in an entire season. Freshman back Kamari Moulton was second on the team with 65 yards rushing. Combine those with tight end Luke Lachey and a rebounding Cade McNamara and the offense might have some intrigue.

It was against FCS Illinois State, but the Hawkeyes haven’t dominated lesser talent by any means. Granted, it was against FCS power South Dakota State, but Iowa scored just seven points against its last FCS opponent. The score combined with the youth leaves serious reasons for optimism.

    Loser: ACC

Last week, ACC favorite Florida State lost earlier in the calendar year than any ranked team since 1997. This week, the damage only got worse. NC State needed a late push just to survive FCS Western Carolina. Virginia Tech lost a thriller with Vanderbilt. Stanford blew a halftime lead against TCU. Clemson got flattened by Georgia and looks nowhere close to competing for anything of substance.

Across the conference, the only teams to overperform their station so far are Miami and Georgia Tech. While the expanded College Football Playoff means a conference team is guaranteed a slot in the party, at-large cases can be won or lost in September.

With such a poor showing against the other conferences, the ACC’s at-large hopes are already on life support. With NC State vs. Tennessee, California at Auburn and BYU at SMU on the schedule next week, the conference desperately needs some good news.

    Winner: Penn State WRs

The Nittany Lions were surprisingly quiet in the transfer portal at wide receiver and even lost top target KeAndre Lambert-Smith to Auburn. It very quickly became clear why Penn State was so content to lean on returning talent.

Harrison Wallace III is the breakout star of Penn State’s receiver unit after catching five passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-12 win over West Virginia. Fellow fourth-year Tyler Warren caught another Drew Allar touchdown pass while third-year Omari Evans added another 55 yards.

The new offensive scheme certainly helped create opportunities for Penn State’s skill talent, but the receiving room looks ready for its close up. If the Nittany Lions have playmakers to surround Allar, suddenly, the upside for this team is much higher.

    Loser: Florida

Florida hired Billy Napier the same year that Miami hired Mario Cristobal. Both programs have recruited hard and hoped that Year 3 could be a breakout moment. Ultimately, that’s what makes the complete home embarrassment at the hands of the ‘Canes so demoralizing. Florida lost 41-17 and proved it didn’t belong on the same field as an ACC opponent.

There is nearly nothing that Florida for hang its hat on. Miami posted 529 yards. They averaged 7.7 yards per play and had three receivers with at least 70 yards. Gators running back Montrell Johnson broke off a 71-yard touchdown run. Outside of that play, Florida averaged a pathetic 3.6 yards per play.

Making matters worse, Miami was the seventh-higest ranked team on Florida’s schedule this season. It’s almost impossible to see how Florida can right the ship. It’s a curse that the Gators have 11 games left to play.

    Winner: Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava

It was against Chattanooga, so there’s no need to overreact. That said, throwing for 314 yards and three touchdowns in your first home start – all in the first half – is nothing to scoff at. The Volunteers obliterated their FCS foe to the tune of 718 yards and Nico was at the center of it. He averaged 11.2 yards per pass attempt and found receivers downfield for some unbelievable connections. Watching Iamaleava and this offense cook will be thrilling.

    Loser: Houston

The Cougars knew they were entering a rebuilding cycle after hiring Willie Fritz, but the floor is even lower than expected. Houston lost against UNLV 27-7 in a total beatdown. Quarterback Donovan Smith, who hoped to get on NFL Draft radars, threw two interceptions and the Coogs averaged a cool 1.5 yards per carry. Houston is the worst team in the Big 12 by a significant margin, and will make a case as the worst in the power conferences before the season ends. A 1-11 finish is possible.

    Winner: Notre Dame

Perhaps the biggest reason that Notre Dame is a winner is because its College Football Playoff case suddenly got much wider. The Fighting Irish only had three teams in the preseason AP Top 25 on the schedule, and one was No. 10 Florida State. After picking up a win over the Aggies, Notre Dame’s runway to reach 10 wins and a trip to the CFP is wide open. Just as important, quarterback Riley Leonard showed a dual-threat ability that should give them a playmaking dynamic they lacked one year ago.

  • California lawmakers approve legislation to ban deepfakes, protect workers and regulate AI

California lawmakers approve legislation to ban deepfakes, protect workers and regulate AI

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lawmakers approved a host of proposals this week aiming to regulate the artificial intelligence industry, combat deepfakes and protect workers from exploitation by the rapidly evolving technology.

The California Legislature, which is controlled by Democrats, is voting on hundreds of bills during its final week of the session to send to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk. Their deadline is Saturday.

The Democratic governor has until Sept. 30 to sign the proposals, veto them or let them become law without his signature. Newsom signaled in July he will sign a proposal to crack down on election deepfakes but has not weighed in other legislation.

He warned earlier this summer that overregulation could hurt the homegrown industry. In recent years, he often has cited the state’s budget troubles when rejecting legislation that he would otherwise support.

Here is a look at some of the AI bills lawmakers approved this year.

Citing concerns over how AI tools are increasingly being used to trick voters and generate deepfake pornography of minors, California lawmakers approved several bills this week to crack down on the practice.

Lawmakers approved legislation to ban deepfakes related to elections and require large social media platforms to remove the deceptive material 120 days before Election Day and 60 days thereafter. Campaigns also would be required to publicly disclose if they’re running ads with materials altered by AI.

A pair of proposals would make it illegal to use AI tools to create images and videos of child sexual abuse. Current law does not allow district attorneys to go after people who possess or distribute AI-generated child sexual abuse images if they cannot prove the materials are depicting a real person.

Tech companies and social media platforms would be required to provide AI detection tools to users under another proposal.

California could become the first state in the nation to set sweeping safety measures on large AI models.

The legislation sent by lawmakers to the governor’s desk requires developers to start disclosing what data they use to train their models. The efforts aim to shed more light into how AI models work and prevent future catastrophic disasters.

Another measure would require the state to set safety protocols preventing risks and algorithmic discrimination before agencies could enter any contract involving AI models used to define decisions.

Inspired by the months-long Hollywood actors strike last year, lawmakers approved a proposal to protect workers, including voice actors and audiobook performers, from being replaced by their AI-generated clones. The measure mirrors language in the contract the SAG-AFTRA made with studios last December.

State and local agencies would be banned from using AI to replace workers at call centers under one of the proposals.

California also may create penalties for digitally cloning dead people without consent of their estates.

As corporations increasingly weave AI into Americans’ daily lives, state lawmakers also passed several bills to increase AI literacy.

One proposal would require a state working group to consider incorporating AI skills into math, science, history and social science curriculums. Another would develop guideline on how schools could use AI in the classrooms.

Man Gets Surprise Amazon Delivery: A Pressure Cooker He Ordered Two Years Ago

In today’s world of online shopping, many of us purchase kitchen essentials from various sites. Whether it is utensils like pressure cookers, woks or griddles, or even grocery items such as bread, chips and flour, everything gets delivered with just a click. But has an order got delivered to your doorstep years after placing it? Well, that is exactly what happened to a man who ordered a pressure cooker from Amazon two years ago. He placed the order in October 2022 and it finally arrived in August 2024. Interestingly, the user mentioned that he had cancelled the order and even received a refund back then, yet the package arrived out of nowhere. Sounds hilarious, right?

The user replied to the company by writing, “Report what? The order was cancelled and refunded back in 2022? And delivered out of nowhere yesterday. How do I pay for it now?”

The post quickly became viral and many others also shared their reactions in the comments section.

A user joked, “They were cooking it for real.”

Another one hilariously added, “I think your order is coming from parallel universe so it took 2 years to reach it to you.”

“I think amazon delivered from mars,” read a comment.

Someone talked about a similar experience. They wrote, “A similar strange thing happened to me as well. I ordered a product in June 2023, reported it as missing in transit, and got a refund. But then, out of the blue, it was delivered in October.”

Jono Castano enjoys his first Father’s Day with his newborn daughter Gia after his ex Simone Holtznagel took a swipe at him following their split

Jono Castano has enjoyed his first Father’s Day with his newborn daughter Gia.

The celebrity personal trainer, 33, took to Instagram on Sunday to share photo with his baby girl, who lives with her mother Simone Holtznagel.

In the sweet photo, the proud dad kissed his five-month-old daughter as they spent quality time together.

‘Daddy loves you G. First Father’s Day!’ he captioned the image.

The post comes just one day after Jono’s ex Simone took a swipe at him after the pair’s acrimonious split.

The model, 31, who is raising the former couple’s baby daughter as a single mother, told Stellar Magazine that she ‘couldn’t change’ the man she thought she loved.

‘I wanted to set an example for my daughter; that’s something that shifted for me. One day I was like, “What am I doing? This isn’t right.” And I would hate if she was ever in this situation,’ she said.

‘You have to do what is right for you at the end of the day. No matter the number of promises or anything else that people make, when they show you who they are, believe them. Because you can’t change people’.

Simone said she is content raising her baby, Gia, alone, and that she is confident she made the right choice.

‘I’ve never felt more sure of anything. And I know I can do it by myself. It’s unfortunate that I’m mostly having to do it by myself, but I couldn’t think of it any other way, really,’ she said.

‘What I’m doing just feels very right for me. The most important thing to me is that Gia is happy and healthy, and that I’m happy too,’ Simone continued.

It comes just one day after Jono’s ex Simone Holtznagel took a swipe at him after the pair’s acrimonious split

Simone and celebrity personal trainer Jono welcomed Gia on Easter Sunday.

Jono recenttly confirmed that he and Simone decided to go their separate ways in May – just nine weeks after the birth of baby Gia.

‘Who knows what the future holds, our idea is just to be the best parents for Gia at this stage,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

A close friend of the couple then revealed the writing was on the wall for the end of Simone and Jono’s relationship for quite some time.

A source told The Daily Telegraph that several friends and family members warned Simone her model lifestyle was not compatible with Jono’s fitness influencer career.

Payson football can’t keep up with Richfield | News, Sports, Jobs

    Brian E. Preece, Herald correspondent

Payson and Richfield players line up for a play during the non-region game at Payson Friday, Aug. 31, 2024.

Payson High School and the Payson community was buzzing as Onion Days activities were just beginning for the Labor Day weekend.

The school itself was hosting three class reunions along with a performance of The Secret Garden. And Friday night Payson was playing Richfield in football followed by fireworks.

During the game Santaquin Police Sergeant Bill Hooser, who was killed last May, was honored with an accompanying effort to raise funds to help his family visit Washington D.C. when he will be honored with other officers across the nation that lost their lives in the line of duty.

The only damper on the festivities was the football game itself where Richfield extended its state-leading winning streak to 16 games at the expense of the Payson Lions, 36-7.

The fireworks blasted off early as the game was completed exactly at 9 p.m. In fact, the first half just took 38 minutes, but it was a nightmare for the Lion faithful as Richfield built up a 28-0 lead.

The second half was more competitive as the Wildcats outscored Payson just 8-7. Payson looked like they might make a game of it but couldn’t come up with any points in the third quarter despite getting deep into Richfield territory multiple times.

“We talked about taking opportunities and we didn’t take them today and the score got out of hand,” Payson head coach Brian Wall said.

There were some bright spots for the Lions as Brogan Broderick had two second-half sacks, one of which stopped a fourth-down conversion attempt by Richfield.

Bryson Gull was a top target for Lion quarterback Trevyn Wall while David Fullmer hauled in a 26-yard touchdown pass from Wall in the final stanza to finally get Payson on the scoreboard.

Though Richfield is a 3A school, the Wildcats showed why they won the state title last year and why they should again be formidable in 2024. Their spread offense was very effective in both the short and intermediate passing game but also gaining huge chunks of yardage on the ground. The Wildcat defense was stellar throughout the game rising up at crucial times to stop Payson from getting back into the contest.

“Richfield does a good job executing, and they are a very good team,” said Wall. “We wish we would have come out and competed a little better in the first half. Second half I felt we came out and competed but (we) still had mistakes in the red zone, and we didn’t take opportunities that were in front of us.”

Malik Fautin scored three times for Richfield, while his teammate Gage Yardley crossed the goal line twice. Wildcat quarterback Griffin Wayman had two touchdowns passing.

Payson (1-2) will open up region play next week as the Lions host Mountain View (2-1). Meanwhile, Richfield (3-0) will hope to extend its winning streak to 17 games when it visits Delta (1-2). Both games will be Friday at 7 p.m.

  • For months, Lauren waited patiently at home while The Block’s heartthrob Ricky Recard finished filming so the lovers could fly off on a romantic trip to Mexico. But when he returned, he broke her heart instead

For months, Lauren waited patiently at home while The Block’s heartthrob Ricky Recard finished filming so the lovers could fly off on a romantic trip to Mexico. But when he returned, he broke her heart instead

The Block’s heartthrob Ricky Recard has been branded a love rat by his jilted ex after he dumped her on the eve of their dream trip overseas to hook up with a married make-up artist he met on the show.

The 34-year-old plumber broke up with Lauren Smith after she had waited three months at home for him while he filmed the new series of Nine’s reno show on Phillip Island.

Just days after the split, he revealed he was now dating married mother-of-two Erin Lee who had broken up with her heartbroken husband to be with the show’s star.

To add insult to injury, Recard jetted stright off on holiday with his new lover, leaving Lauren to go on their romantic getaway to Mexico for her 30th by herself.

‘I was absolutely blindsided,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I spent three months looking after his dogs and his house while also helping his employee with the business.’

Ms Smith said the couple had an overseas holiday arranged to celebrate her milestone birthday, which would have been the first trip away from her young daughter.

‘We were due to go at the beginning of July for my 30th birthday but we broke up about two weeks after he got back from filming,’ she said.

‘I found out while I was in Mexico that he had apparently begun a relationship with Erin during the time I was away.’

Recard, from Melbourne, has proudly boasted of his budding relationship with 40-year-old mum-of-two on social media.

The couple flew to Port Douglas in Far North Queensland last month and ‘hard launched’ their relationship on his private Instagram page.

He posted an image of the couple together with the caption: ‘Beach time with this stunner.’

On Thursday Ms Lee also shared of her with Recard, with the message: ‘Sometimes the path we never planned leads us to brighter things and the happiness we always needed.

    ‘Trust the journey.’

Ms Lee’s estranged husband Lucas Day – who is a lookalike for love rival Recard – insists his wife only hooked up with the Block tradie after their marriage ended

‘We are separated now and I’ve dealt with it,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘They got together after we split when he got back from Mexico in July and we were done then.’

Day also agreed he bears a striking resemblance to Ms Lee’s new lover, calling the similarity between the pair as ‘strange’.

‘It is a bit strange, it definitely is,’ he said.

In a recent interview with New Idea, Recard confirmed his new lover, but didn’t identify her.

Biazrrely though, despite her working as a make-up artist on The Block, he claimed she not know of his role on the show.

‘I can definitely say she was impressed, and why wouldn’t she be?’ he said.

‘The reason why she was impressed was not because I’m on The Block. She thinks it’s pretty funny.

‘She didn’t know I was on The Block when we started seeing each other.’

He even claimed she poked fun at him and joked she was now dating ‘someone famous’.

Recard also responded to viewers who have called him the heartthrob on this year’s hotly-anticipated 20th anniversary series.

He has won female fans, with many viewers naming him their all-time celebrity crush as they swooned over his rugged looks.

Fans have also been left charmed by his positive attitude and cheeky sense of humour, taking to social media to claim Ricky’s Yellow Team as their favourites.

The plumber laughed off being called a celebrity crush as he insisted he is not famous enough to be given the label.

‘I don’t know if I consider myself a celebrity, seriously,’ he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

‘I think as a celebrity, you’ve got to have a fair resume, right? Like Shelley [Craft], she’s got The List – Saturday Disney for years, Funniest Home Videos, The Block.

‘She’s an Australian icon and I’m just an absolute nobody. But if people want to have a crush on me, that’s cool. I appreciate the love.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Recard and Nine Network for comment.
