Vanderbilt football is in search of its first win against LSU since 1990.
The Tigers (6-4, 3-3 SEC) are an uncommon opponent for the Commodores (6-4, 3-3) and the two teams last played in 2020. It’ll be the first game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea, who worked with LSU coach Brian Kelly when he was Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator from 2018-20. The Commodores have not played at Tiger Stadium, also called Death Valley, since 2009.
Both teams have somewhat struggled of late, as the Tigers have lost their last three games while Vanderbilt has not scored more than 24 points since an upset of Alabama the first week of October.
Diego Pavia is set to start at quarterback for Vanderbilt and was not on the team’s injury report, but he is not at 100% after playing through multiple injuries during the season.
