Getting groceries delivered at home using online platforms has become a common and convenient practice in several cities. However, the experience often leads to some unexpected circumstances. In a recent Reddit post, a user from Bengaluru (@yashwantptl7), shared his unusual experience of ordering groceries from Instamart. In the post, the user revealed that after delivering his order, the agent requested one onion. The customer decided to give an onion to the agent but found the request awkward and confusing. The Redditor shared, “So this is what happened. In the evening having discussed with my wife what all grocery we needed, I ordered them. The delivery guy came to the door on the expected time.”

Sharing the conversation, he added, “After greeting him with thanks, he said: sir, ek pyaaj mil sakta hai kya? Me: kyu? He: aise hi, khaane k liye. Me : okay…..after getting a pyaaj, I asked … koi tantra mantra to nahi karoge na bhaiya ?? He: nahi sir(with an innocent smile) [After greeting him with thanks, he said: Sir, can I get an onion? The Redditor said, “After he left taking the onion, me and my wife were discussing if he genuinely needed to eat it or going to do tantra mantra….my wife said maybe onion is so expensive here he might be asking for onion from everywhere he delivers so he has enough to make food using it.”

The confused Redditor then asked, “Did anyone else experience this? Could anyone tell why he asked for this?”

Southampton eye move for £16m gem with same agent as Armstrong

Southampton are interested in signing a £16 million+ player who has the same agent as Adam Armstrong, according to a recent report from a Sky Sports journalist.

The Saints return to Premier League action this weekend as they welcome leaders Liverpool to St. Mary’s Stadium, looking to bounce back from their defeat to Wolves last time out.

Southampton sold on this former striker at the best possible time.

    Latest Southampton news

As their game against Liverpool approaches, one concern that will be on Russell Martin’s mind is who plays in goal for his side. That is because Southampton suffered a major injury blow at the start of the international break, as Aaron Ramsdale withdrew from England duty as he suffered a suspected fractured finger and is now looking at a spell on the sidelines.

But this international break wasn’t all doom and gloom for Southampton and some of their players, as defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis scored on his England debut against the Republic of Ireland. He described it as a “magical” night at Wembley on Sunday as England won 5-0.

He said: “It is every young kid’s dream to make their debut for England, but to get a goal was magical. I was given a few hints on Saturday that I would be needed at some point, so I was just getting myself ready for that, but you also don’t believe it until it happens. When I got the nod to come on, I was over the moon. I fancied myself in the box as I like scoring headers.

    Taylor-Harwood-Bellis

“They have always spoken about how there is a pathway [from under-21s to first team], even when Gareth Southgate was in charge. We know the door is open if we take our chances. Playing for my country at every level is something I take great pride in. To play for the seniors is what dreams are made of. It is the pinnacle of football.”

So, as Martin prepares his side for their important winter run of games, the club have their eyes on a player who they could look to sign in January.

Southampton eye move for £16m+ gem with same agent as Armstrong

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Southampton are interested in signing Hertha Berlin’s Ibrahim Maza. The Algerian international has been with the German side from an early age but has only just recently broken into the first-team set-up.

The 18-year-old has performed very well for Hertha Berlin in Bundesliga 2 this season, as he’s got three goals and two assists to his name in 12 games. Maza is more known for being an attacking midfielder, but he also has the ability to play as a winger, as well as a striker if needed.

Plettenberg reports that Maza is being scouted by a number of Premier League clubs, with Southampton making regular checks on him, as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers. But they are not the only teams interested from England, as Fulham, Leicester City, Newcastle United, and West Ham are also keeping a close eye on the midfielder.

Hertha Berlin want Maza to be part of their promotion push this season, so a move in January could be difficult for the Saints to complete. However, should they fail to be promoted, Maza will likely leave the German side and would be available for a fee of £8-16.7 million. It will obviously depend on where Southampton are playing their football next season, but they could have an advantage in the race, as Maza has the same agent, CAA Stellar, as current Saints striker Armstrong.

“Be Kind”: Sonu Sood Supports Swiggy Agent Who Stole Shoes, Draws Criticism

Sonu Sood, who is known for his humanitarian activities, recently found himself amidst criticism after extending support to the Swiggy delivery agent who was caught on camera stealing shoes. Let us explain it from the beginning. A video, captured on April 9, 2024, went viral on the internet where a Swiggy Instamart delivery agent was seen stealing a pair of black-coloured shoes from outside a flat in Gurugram. The video was posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Rohit Arora, who claimed that the shoes belonged to his friend. “Swiggy’s drop and PICK up service. A delivery boy just took my friend’s shoes (@Nike) and they won’t even share his contact,” he wrote.

Since being posted, the video amassed more than 721,000 views and hundreds of comments. It even caught Swiggy‘s attention, who promptly replied, “We expect better from our delivery partners. Do meet us on DM, so we can assist you better”.

Recently, actor Sonu Sood brought the incident back under the spotlight when he took to his social media handle to extend support to the delivery agent. He wrote, “Don’t take any action against him. In fact, buy him a new pair of shoes. He might be really in need. Be kind.”

It seems Sonu Sood’s post didn’t go well with the internet users. More than three thousand people commented on his post, with most criticizing his idea of support by “encouraging stealing”.

A person wrote, “Asking for no action is still okay, but don’t justify it by giving nonsensical arguments. Poverty/Need is no justification for stealing. There are millions of people, poorer than this delivery guy, who work hard and earn their livelihood. They don’t steal. Justifying stealing is an insult to their hustle.”

Another comment read, “Absolutely…have seen poorest of poor not taking money dropped on the road…forget stealing…and this is a crime…shoes are not medicine or food which is essential and can’t be ignored… reprimand him and let him go but don’t justify…”

A third comment read, “Stealing is a habit. It’s not about the poor. We also didn’t have good shoes but never stole.”

A person sarcastically wrote, “If Swiggy’s delivery boy attacked and stole some money while delivering food at someone’s house. Don’t take any action against him. In fact, ask him to wait and bring some more money that is hidden inside. He might be really in need. Be kind just like Rahulhood Sonu Sood.”

A user commented, “Trust me delivery boys are not as vulnerable as we think. And even if they are, vulnerability can’t justify the stealing in any case.”

Watch: Zomato Agent Delivers Food Amid Heavy Rains, Company Responds

Social media is all praise for a Zomato agent who delivered food through the flooded streets of Ahmedabad. A widely circulated clip on X (formerly Twitter) shows the delivery agent wading through knee-deep water. Since the video went viral, there has been an outpouring of appreciation for the delivery agent’s unwavering and commitment. Social media users have urged Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, to reward the agent for his outstanding work. The text accompanying the video reads, “#ZOMATO delivering in Ahmedabad amidst extremely heavy rains!!”

    Watch the video here:

The official X handle of Zomato’s customer care responded to the viral post and thanked the user for sharing the video. They also asked for the order ID number so they could identify the delivery agent. Zomato wrote, “Hi Vikunj! Thank you for highlighting our delivery partner’s extraordinary efforts! They truly went above and beyond, braving extreme weather like a superhero. To help us recognize and celebrate their efforts, could you please share the order ID or details about the area and timing of the delivery? This will ensure our superhero delivery partner gets the recognition they deserve.”

As the video gained traction, it sparked a range of reactions online. While some praised the delivery agent for his commitment towards his work, others criticised the decision of the customers to place orders during such extreme weather conditions.

One user said, “This person who works with his hard work and dedication should be rewarded like this from the company.”

Another added, “Excellent job and well done by Zomato delivery partner.”

A comment read, “These heroes deserve special recognition.”

Some users seemed upset with people for putting delivery agents’ lives in danger. They posted comments like, “This is inhuman and dangerous. He is risking his life for a Rs 500 order. He wouldn’t have done that if he had a minimum wage. Please instruct riders not to deliver in such conditions.”

“The people who order, they should also think. How will someone deliver food through waterlogged streets. He is also human,” read a comment.
