Dr. Cheyenne Bryant has been on a roll lately, calling out celebrity men for their complicated love lives. Three months ago she went viral for her sit-down confrontation with former NFL player turned podcaster Cam Newton. Up next on the chopping block is Ne-Yo.

The “Champagne Life” singer has been embracing his polyamorous lifestyle lately but Dr. Bryant is calling it all cap. On Tuesday, Nov. 26 she sat with her Truth Talks co-hosts and explained why Ne-Yo is actually “a womanizer.”

She said, “He cheated on his wife and that’s why she left him. He didn’t cheat once, he cheated over and over again. He’s a womanizer. And now what he’s doing is as a womanizer, he’s gaslighting himself and that wife to make it seem like he wants polyamorous when you never wanted polyamorous from the beginning. You wanted to be married, but didn’t have the discipline to do it and your wife left you because she didn’t tolerate that sh-t.”

Bryant continued on and accused Ne-Yo of making other women pay for his “heartbreak” while calling it polyamory.

“That’s B.S.,” she said. “You want to be married. You don’t have the discipline, you don’t have the tools to do it. So now you want to make sure you put out into the world, look at me I want to be polyamorous because I cheated. No you failed in your marriage, you F’d up and that’s the problem. Now you need to heal from that and not self project your pain onto these women about your messed up decision making.”

It’s been over a year since he divorced his wife, Crystal Renee. And since their break-up, Ne-Yo has been openly dating multiple women at one time.

“Monogamy’s for you it’s not for me,” he said in his Nov. 14 appearance on Lemon Drop. “I spent a lot of time lying trying to be somebody that I was not. And now that I realize who I am, it’s like all of my relationships have improved. From friendships on down to my ex-wife. We’re actually at a place we can call each other friend again because now it’s, ‘This is me. This is who I am.’ Love it or leave it alone.”

While Dr. Bryant may have doubts of Ne-Yo’s newly embraced relationship status, history shows the singer may truly not be fit for monogamy. In fact, this is not the first time he’s ever said that he didn’t want to be in a monogamous relationship.

Back in 2009, he was dating a woman named Monyetta Shaw. Two years into their relationship, Shaw and Ne-Yo engaged and had two children. After the birth of their second child, they agreed to have Shaw’s tubes tied. But Shaw told NY Post in 2016 that Ne-Yo “agreed to undergo a vasectomy,” which evidently he did not go through with.

The couple’s wedding date was in 2013. However, Ne-Yo called off the wedding two months before the big day. She said Ne-Yo called her and said, “I don’t want to be monogamous anymore.” Then, two years later, he was in a monogamous relationship with Renee.

Although they married, Ne-Yo was not faithful to Renee. After six years of marriage and the birth of three children, Renee filed for divorce. The court documents cited that Ne-Yo “recently fathered a minor child.”

In 2021, Ne-Yo welcomed a son with a woman named Sade just months after his daughter Renee was born. He and Sade welcomed another son, Brixton, in February 2023 — the same month he finalized his divorce from Renee.

    He now has seven children.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pulled out all the stops for their Shohei Ohtani pitch. That included bringing back Kobe Bryant from the dead.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the late Lakers Hall of Famer made a key video appearance during the Dodgers’ presentation to Ohtani, telling the Angels dual-threat star that “there’s no better place in the world to win than Los Angeles, and there’s no better team in baseball to win with than the Dodgers.”

Bryant recorded the video as a favor to the team back in 2017, when the Dodgers were preparing a recruitment plan for the then-Nippon Professional Baseball transfer.

“That was one of the highlights of the whole meeting,” Ohtani told ESPN through his interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. “I was really surprised to see it. It was a strong and touching message.”

This isn’t, I don’t know, macabre to anyone else? Kobe Bryant has left a complicated legacy behind since his death in a January 2020 helicopter crash. It seems the five-time NBA Champion is only remembered in flowery memories and rose-tinted anecdotes: Loving father, wise mentor, the ultimate competitor; those are the only ways you can describe Bryant. But we know that’s not the case.

This pitch just took things to another level. Whatever humanity and identity Bryant had left posthumously has been stripped from him. He has just become this simulacrum for Los Angeles sports culture and marketing. If the Dodgers hadn’t already recorded this six years ago, it feels like the kind of video that would have been made with AI.

Hell, it was weird when Bryant recorded it in 2017. It’s always odd when athletes from other sports get involved in the star recruitment. The year before the Dodgers had Bryant record that video, Tom Brady got involved in the Boston Celtics’ recruitment of Kevin Durant. Brady’s involvement in the pitch is actually what swayed Durant to eventually join the Golden State Warriors. A shared city does not dictate culture. Involving other players is just an advertising tactic distracting from the team-specific details that really matter.

Bryant’s video obviously wasn’t the only factor in Ohtani’s decision to sign with the Dodgers. No other team in baseball could offer him the record-setting $700 million contract. Los Angeles’ roster does offer Ohtani the best chance to win a ring by virtue of pure talent. Just let Bryant rest.
