A late goal from Ademola Lookman secured Atalanta a hard-fought 2-1 win over Milan on Friday, lifting the hosts to the top of Serie A. Three minutes before full-time, a corner sailed across the box and an unmarked Lookman headed in the winner.
The result propelled Atalanta to the top of the standings with 34 points, two ahead of Napoli, who will play fifth-placed Lazio at home on Sunday. Milan are seventh with 22 points.
The former Milan player Charles De Ketelaere outjumped his marker to head Atalanta into the lead after 12 minutes, finishing off a perfectly delivered corner. Ten minutes later, Milan replied when Rafael Leão sent a cross into the box to Álvaro Morata, who swept home from close range to equalise.
The second half was evenly contested, with both sides creating several chances, and the Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan made a save in stoppage time to deny Atalanta a third.
Earlier Inter eased to a 3-1 win at home against Parma, with Federico Dimarco, Nicolò Barella and Marcus Thuram all on the scoresheet.
Inter were in action for the first time since their Serie A match against Fiorentina was abandoned last Sunday after the midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the pitch and had to be taken to hospital.
On Friday, Dimarco impressed with a deft touch to flick the ball past a defender and into the box and then fired in from a tight angle to break the deadlock five minutes before the interval. The hosts doubled their lead in the 53th minute when Barella latched on to a perfectly timed pass from midfield, giving him ample opportunity to slot the ball into the net.
An unmarked Thuram sealed Inter’s win in the 66th minute, volleying a flicked-on corner into the net for their third goal against the team from his city of birth.
“Things are going well but I still have a lot to learn. I’m working with my teammates and I’m following the teachings of Lautaro [Martínez] and [Marko] Arnautovic, who are helping me improve,” Thuram told DAZN. “This team [Parma] has a place in my father’s heart and for me playing against the yellow and blues is a bit strange, but I’m happy to have scored and won this match.”
Parma pulled one back in the 81st minute when the Inter defender Matteo Darmian attempted to intercept a through-ball but sent it into his own net.
Despite the defeat, the Parma coach, Fabio Pecchia, remained optimistic about his team’s display. “The boys’ performance was positive, we knew who we were facing. The attitude was positive, with the desire to do what we usually do,” he said.

The Ligue 1 leaders, Paris Saint-Germain, were held to a 0-0 draw at Auxerre as the visitors dropped further points after their second straight stalemate.
Coming off a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Nantes, PSG looked dominant from the outset but struggled to find a way through a solid Auxerre defence. PSG’s Gonçalo Ramos came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half with a header that was brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper Donovan Léon.
Léon continued his impressive form after the break, making several key saves to keep PSG at bay, while Vitinha hit the woodwork in another missed opportunity for the visitors in the 69th minute.
PSG remain top of the standings with 34 points, eight ahead of second-placed Marseille, who face Saint-Étienne on Sunday. Auxerre sit eighth with 20 points, just outside the European places on goal difference.
