    Goa is the perfect getaway for any special celebration and Kartik Aaryan would agree. The actor recently celebrated his 34th birthday in Goa, surrounded by his friends. He turned a year older on November 22 and shared glimpses of his fun birthday celebration on Instagram. Along with the customised invitation card and pretty sunset views, what caught our attention were the delicious treats from Kartik’s food diaries.

    One of the images featured two chocolate cakes – one with a chocolate top layer and the other with a brulee top. The layers underneath seem to be a combination of different textures and flavours, possibly mousse, cake and pastry cream. The dessert was served with a scoop of coconut ice cream, in a coconut shell. It was garnished with crushed nuts, a decorative leaf, and a delicate edible tuile garnish on top of the ice cream.

    Kartik also had another chocolate-layered cake decorated with chocolate frosting, blueberries and chocolate shavings and his character’s name ‘Rooh Baba’ in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 plastered on top. In a clip, Kartik’s friends were seen feeding him the cake. The note attached to the post read, “A Birthday to remember. A much-needed getaway.” 

    Earlier this month, Kartik Aaryan travelled to Bihar to promote his latest release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. On this work trip, the actor tried Bihar’s popular dish litti chokha. This delicacy consists of stuffed and baked whole wheat dough balls served with chokha, a mashed vegetable side. In a recent Instagram post, Kartik shared his experience of enjoying this hearty meal. The actor tried litti chokha from a street-side stall, with the dish served on a paper plate. “Litti chokha lallan top lagela. Rooh Baba In Bihar for the first time. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Theatre mein successfully chalat ba,” Kartik wrote in the caption.

    In July, Kartik Aaryan was in Orcha, Madhya Pradesh. The actor enjoyed a yummy chaat during his time in the city.     Ingredients:

    • Gond (edible gum) – 1/2 cup
    • Clarified butter – 4 tablespoons
    • Cashew nuts – 50 grams
    • Almonds – 50 grams
    • Pistachio – 50 grams
    • Poppy seeds – 2 tablespoons
    • Coconut powder – 4 to 5 tablespoons
    • Dates – 500 grams
    • Cardamom powder – 1/4 tablespoons
    • Dry ginger powder – 1/2 tablespoons
    • Grated nutmeg (a little bit)

    Method:

    1. Heat ghee in a kadhai, and add gond into it. Keep sauteeing it on low-medium flame. Remove the gond from the pan and let it cool. Meanwhile, keep a mixture of cashew nuts, almonds and pista crushed together.
    2. Roast this dry fruit mixture with some ghee. Add poppy seeds to it. Mix well. To enhance the flavour, add coconut powder and blend it all well.
    3. Crush the roasted edible gum you had kept aside.
    4. Take soft dates, remove the seeds and prepare a coarse powder out of it.
    5. Take some ghee in a kadhai, and melt some ghee into it. Put dates and cook until it leaves the pan. Gradually, add crushed gond and dry fruits mixture as well. For the flavour, put cardamom powder, and dry ginger powder. Finally, add grated nutmeg and mix well.
    6. Take a plate and put butter paper on it. Spread some ghee and put the mixture on the plate. Cut it into pieces and enjoy!

    2. Protein Ladoo

    Ingredients

    • Roasted peanuts – 1 cup
    • Sesame seeds – 1 cup
    • Oats – 1/2 cup
    • Dates – 200 grams
    • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tablespoons
    • Saffron strands (a few)

    Method:

    1. Take a pan and heat the sesame seeds on medium flame. Once done, transfer them to a plate. Let it cool.
    2. In a pan, take desiccated coconut and dry roast the same until it turns golden. Empty it in a separate bowl.
    3. Take oats and roast that as well. Keep it on a plate.
    4. Take a grinding jar, and add roasted peanuts to it. Make a coarse powder of the peanuts.
    5. Mix the coarse peanut powder with the desiccated coconut. Add til and oats into a jar and grind the two well together. Add this mixture to the previous one.
    6. Take soft dates and add some water to them. Transfer it into the grinding jar and blend well until you get a thick paste. Don’t forget to eliminate the seeds though. Cook this paste on low flame until it leaves the pan.
    7. Add the coconut mixture to the date paste and mix everything gradually. To make it more flavourful, add cardamom powder and a few saffron strands.
    8. Make ladoos from the mixture.

    3. Gud Mysore Pak

    Ingredients

    • Gram flour (Besan) – 1 cup
    • Clarified butter ghee – 1 cup
    • Jaggery (gud) – 1 cup

    Method:

    1. First of all, strain the gram flour before using it. Dry roast the besan on low flame.
    2. Put some ghee into the gram flour and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps.
    3. Take a kadhai and heat water on low medium flame. Melt jaggery into the water and prepare a syrup.
    4. Grease a tray or plate. Put butter paper on it and grease that as well.
    5. Meanwhile, as the gud [jaggery] melts, switch off the flame and add the besan batter to the syrup. Mix properly. Now, switch on the gas and cook the besan. Add ghee into it and mix. You’ll notice that it has started absorbing ghee.
    6. Empty the batter into the tray and let it spread into it. Leave it like that for 20 minutes. Once done, cut them into square or rectangular shapes and your gud [jaggery] Mysore pak is ready.

    4. Immunity-Booster Ladoo

    Ingredients

    • Almonds – 1/4 cup
    • Cinnamon sticks – 2 to 3
    • Fenugreek seeds – 1 tablespoon
    • Oats – 1 cup
    • Ghee – 2 tablespoons
    • Pepper powder – 1/2 tablespoon
    • Ragi flour – 2 cups
    • Desiccated coconut – 4 tablespoons
    • Dates – 1 cup
    • Cardamom powder – 1 tablespoon
    • Coconut powder

    Here’s the process to make immunity booster ladoos:

    1. First, lightly roast the almonds, cinnamon seeds and fenugreek seeds together. Add oats and roast that also. Let it cool for some time. After that, transfer the ingredients into a grinding jar and make a coarse powder.
    2. Heat some ghee in a pan. Add some pepper powder, ragi flour and the prepared oats mixture. Cook the preparation properly. Put the desiccated coconut and mix well.
    3. Blend some dates into a grinding jar. Don’t forget to add a few drops of water to it while grinding.
    4. Cook the date paste properly. Add the flour mixture prepared previously. To jazz up the flavour, put some cardamom powder and mix.
    5. Now, make ladoos and it’s ready! You can coat the ladoos with some coconut powder.

    How can Diwali be complete without some delicious Sandesh?

    5. Sandesh Barfi

    Ingredients

    • Paneer – 400 grams
    • Cardamom powder
    • Milk powder – 5 tablespoons
    • Clarified butter – 1 tablespoon
    • Jaggery – 1/2 cups
    • Dry fruits

    Here’s how you can make sandesh barfi

    1. Take a slab of paneer and cut it into pieces. Add them into your grinding jar and make a soft paste. Put cardamom powder followed by milk powder.
    2. Heat some ghee in a kadhai, and melt some jaggery into it. Turn the flame low and add the paneer paste to it. Cook the mixture on low flame.
    3. Grease a tray using some butter and keep it aside.
    4. Meanwhile, when the preparation is cooked properly, transfer it to the tray. Spread properly and cut into pieces to enjoy. You can decorate it further with dry fruits.

    6. No-Sugar Ladoo

    Ingredients

    • Almonds – 50 grams
    • Cashew nuts – 50 grams
    • Walnut – 50 grams
    • Pistachio – 2 tablespoons
    • Melon seeds – 1 tablespoon
    • Desiccated coconut – 1/2 cup
    • Dates (remove seeds): 250 grams
    • Raisins
    • Cardamom powder

    This is how you can make no-sugar ladoos:

    1. Dry roast cashew nuts and almonds together. Add pistachios and walnuts also while roasting.
    2. Take the dry fruits to a plate.
    3. Take melon seeds into a pan and roast them until golden.
    4. Take desiccated coconut into a pan and roast it nicely. Once done, transfer it to a plate.
    5. Take dates into a grinding jar and make a paste of it. Yes, you can use water.
    6. In a pan, add the dates paste into it and cook well on low flame. You’ll notice the change in its colour.
    7. Make a coarse powder of all the dry fruits by crushing them together.
    8. Meanwhile, once, your date mixture is ready, add the crushed dry fruits to it. Now, add coconut powder and raisins.

    Sprinkle some cardamom powder and mix well. Make ladoos using that mixture.

    For this Sunday, actress Shilpa Shetty went on a sugary ride exploring a host of desserts and gave us a glimpse of it in an Instagram Reel. She started by sipping a sizable milkshake and then moved to another huge glass of Ferrero Rocher milkshake while enjoying every bit of it.

    Her sugary expedition wasn’t limited to just shakes, as the actress also relished some hot chocolate souffle and evidently went into a food coma.     The actress’s Sunday binge was enough to trigger anyone’s sugar cravings. So, we have got you a chocolate souffle recipe. This delightful recipe by NDTV Food’s expert chef Niru Gupta is sure to make you drool!

    Here Is How You Can Make Chocolate Souffle At Home: 

    Ingredients: 

    Chilled cream – 1 ¼ cup

    Milk – 1 cup

    Cocoa –  3 tbsp

    Gelatine – 1 tbsp

    Sugar – 1 ¼ cup

    Eggs – 3 (separated)

    Water – ½ cup

    Method:

    Step – 1: Separate the eggs and put the yolks in a double boiler and the whites into a greaseless bowl.

    Step – 2: Sprinkle gelatine in ½ cup of water and let it soak.

    Step – 3: Add sugar to the yolks and beat to form a light and creamy mixture. In a separate container, mix milk and cocoa.

    Step – 4: Place the double boiler on low flame and add the milk and cocoa mixture and the yolk mixture into it while continuously stirring the mixture. This will be your custard for the souffle.

    Step – 5: Add the soaked gelatin to the custard and stir it till the mixture gains a coating consistency.

    Step – 6: Remove the boiler from the flame and let it cool till it is partially set.

    Step – 7: Beat the egg whites and also the cream to a thick consistency.

    Step – 8: Mix the cream into the custard and save some for decoration. Maintain a folding motion while mixing the cream and then fold in the egg whites too ensuring that no lumps are left.

    Step – 9: Pour the whole mixture into a bowl and decorate it with cream before placing it in the refrigerator for setting.

    Step – 10: For chocolate icing with cream, beat 1 cup chilled cream, 2 tbsp cocoa, and ¼ cup sugar till stiff and serve your chocolate souffle.
