Watch: Foreign Father-Son Biker Duo Enjoy Roadside Sugarcane Juice In Goa. Video Is Viral

A father-son biker duo recently posted a reel about their experience drinking fresh sugarcane juice in Goa and it has won many hearts. In the video shared by @mrdarcyandtheolman, the younger man of the pair explains that they decided to stop at the side of the road during their biking trip because they spotted a stall selling sugarcane juice. “I absolutely love this. It’s literally a drink made from pure sugar cane. I could drink this every day,” he declares. Someone off-camera, possibly his father, notes that the stall he has stopped at “looks quite clean.” The son agrees and adds that it seems like there’s a new machine (for juicing the sugar cane) at the stall.

As the video proceeds, we get glimpses of the refreshing drink being prepared. Later, the man shows off his tall glass of freshly squeezed juice with a natural layer of froth on top. He takes a sip and gives his verdict: “That’s bliss. So good, so good.” His father also relishes the juice. He says, “It’s sweet. It’s tasty. It’s not like drinking refined sugar. It’s got a more intricate and slightly lemon-ish flavour. Well, they probably put lemon in it.”

In the caption, he wrote, “My new favourite drink. In India, you will often come across sugar cane drink stalls on the side of the road. We came across this one whilst travelling to Panaji on the Royal Enfields. It’s a delicious drink made by pressing sugar cane through a machine press and collecting the juice that gets squeezed out, and it’s safe to say it’s absolutely delicious!” Watch the complete video below.

The viral video has received a lot of interest online. In the comments, many people echoed the bikers’ sentiments about sugarcane juice being delicious. Some shared tips on how to enhance its taste further or use it to make other types of drinks. Read a few of the reactions from Instagram below:

“Add some salt to it, it will taste even better.”

“Add a little bit of salt on top of it, black salt is even better!”

“Lime and ginger with a dash of mint, all while crushing. Amazing.”

“Always drink without ice – it will be better.”

“The good ones usually add some mint, ginger and lemon. It tastes heavenly in summer. In some parts of North India, Sugarcane juice is also used to make Kheer (rice pudding).”

“In Brazil, we add ice cubes and a bit of lime juice. Breaks the sweetness a bit and is even more refreshing. It’s still a sugar bomb, though.”

“On a hot sunny day, sugarcane juice hits different .. this and coconut water are nature’s energy drinks.”

“It tastes even better if you add a little ginger to it and of course don’t forget a dash of lime!

Alcohol fans, try sugarcane juice with vodka, a little saunf powder and crushed ice or with ice cubes! Thank me later.”

Before this, a video showing a vlogger making jaggery from sugarcane went viral on social media. Here’s the complete story.

How To Make Kelyache Dhonas | Recipe To Make Kelyache Dhonas

Making this eggless banana cake at home is pretty simple. You don’t need to have a microwave or oven to bake it. To make this:

    1. Prepare Banana Mixture
In a pan, heat some ghee and roast rava until aromatic. Once done, transfer it to a mixing bowl. In the meantime, peel bananas and add them to a mixer jar along with jaggery and cardamom. Blend to make a smooth paste.

    2. Prepare Cake Mixture
Once added to the bowl, combine salt, cashew nuts and grated coconut. Mix all the ingredients well so that it forms a thick, pouring-like consistency. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes. If you feel it has become too thick, add a little bit of milk to adjust the consistency.

    3. Bake The Cake
In a nonstick frying pan, add some ghee and add the mixture to it. Set properly and cover with turmeric or banana leaf. Put the lid and let it cook on low flame for 30-40 minutes. Once baked, turn it upside down, let it cool and then serve!

  • Manolo Marquez admits FC Goa was not at its best in draw against Mohammedan Sporting Club

Manolo Marquez admits FC Goa was not at its best in draw against Mohammedan Sporting Club

FC Goa (FCG) head coach Manolo Marquez acknowledged in the post-match press conference that his team was not at its best after they played a draw against Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) in the Indian Super League (ISL) in Kolkata.
Alexis Gomez opened the scoring for Mohammedan SC with a penalty, putting the home side in a strong position to secure three points at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Saturday. However, Armando Sadiku’s late equaliser dashed those hopes, leaving the spoils shared.
Both teams earned their first points of the league season, but FC Goa may feel fortunate to have escaped with a draw, as Mohammedan SC created numerous chances and troubled them for much of the game.
Reflecting on the performance, Marquez expressed uncertainty about whether his team truly deserved the draw given their lacklustre display.
“We are not in a good moment, especially mentally. It’s not a problem physically or technically because we know the kind of players that we have. But the team seems tired. Even in some moments, we don’t know what to do. Maybe even I don’t know, maybe I was wrong with the lineup and the substitutions. It’s not about finding who is guilty. The positive thing is playing in this way. We got one point in injury time which I’m not sure we deserved,” he said in the post-match press conference, as quoted by ISL official website.
Mohammedan SC secured their first points in the ISL after suffering a loss in their opening match against NorthEast United FC. Just as in that first game, they proved difficult for FC Goa to penetrate. The Black and White Brigade have only two goals across their two matches so far.
Sharing his thoughts about Mohammedan SC, Marquez said, “They played a good game, same like the other day. I think they are still (dealing) with this physical problem because the pre-season was short or maybe in a similar situation than Punjab FC in the beginning of last season. They are still adapting to the ISL, because two games and lost points in injury times in both games. It’s tough, but I think that the supporters can be proud of this team because they played very well. They have a clear style with a lot of continuity in the players. It was a very difficult game for us. It’s not only because we are in a bad moment, the credit goes to Mohammedan SC also.”
Mohammedan SC brought off Alexis Gomez and Franca, both of whom were standout performers in their attack against FC Goa and were involved in the opening goal. Brazilian forward Franca, in particular, was a constant threat to the FC Goa defence, testing keeper Laxmikant Kattimani on multiple occasions and earning the penalty that led to Gomez’s goal.
When asked if the substitutions of the duo made a difference in the final score, Marquez praised the entire Mohammedan SC squad.
“They have very good players. Not only these two foreigners, but they have very good Indian players too. The winger, left footer, Bikash (Sangolsem Singh) I like a lot. I think he is a very good player. Kasimov played a fantastic game. In my opinion he was the best player on the pitch. It was difficult to control them. Both (full-)backs are strong, fast. I think Mohammedan SC has a good team. The other day Juan Pedro Benali, the NorthEast United FC coach, more or less said that not too many teams will beat Mohammedan SC at home and I agree with him,” the Spaniard said, as quoted by ISL official website.

  • Review: Elements By Rosetta Varca Goa Is A Cosy, Versatile New Hotel In The Bylanes Of South Goa

Review: Elements By Rosetta Varca Goa Is A Cosy, Versatile New Hotel In The Bylanes Of South Goa

We recently had the blessed chance to escape the worst of the Mumbai monsoon with a short getaway to Goa. Rosetta Hospitality has established a new luxury property in South Goa called Elements by Rosetta Varca Goa and we spent a leisurely weekend checking out its offerings. The hotel is around two kilometres away from Varca Beach and is nestled in a quaint bylane surrounded by lush vegetation. Our drive down to the hotel (and subsequent trips to and from sightseeing spots) were through serenely beautiful routes crossing quiet settlements, chapels, plantations and natural water bodies. It is the kind of picturesque paradise South Goa is often associated with.

We checked into our room on the first floor and the first thing we noticed was how spacious it was! Some non-resort properties can have rather cramped rooms that dampen a vacation mood, but you will not face such a problem here. The decor had a minimalistic style, with brown and white accents. The room was well-equipped with standard fittings and amenities. There was a writing desk where we managed to complete some work despite the tempting view of the pool below.

Other rooms also boast bathtubs and outdoor jacuzzis, we were told. Those who don’t want to go for a swim can also unwind at the poolside Collins Bar, the spa or the gym. Those travelling with young ones should know there’s a dedicated kids’ play area on the property as well as a family activity centre called Rosetta Engage. Jai Sreedhar, Joint Managing Director of Rosetta Hospitality, says, “We believe that our new property will resonate with travellers who value quality and sophistication without compromising on affordability.” He also clarified that the new hotel aims to “bring Rosetta Hospitality to Goa and not vice versa.”

The property also boasts versatile venues for different occasions: a grand ballroom of 4000 sq. ft., a 5000 sq. ft. outdoor lawn, and spacious board rooms for conferences and meetings. Errol Fernandes, the Chairman and Managing Director of Rosetta Hospitality highlights that the hotel aims to attract a diverse clientele, including corporate groups, wedding parties, and leisure travellers.

The pool and an adjoining lawn form the centre of the property – the accommodation wings (currently having a total of 74 rooms) and reception building are located on its four sides. The main building, which also houses the restaurant – Cucina Rosetta – is thus only a short walk away from most rooms. We enjoyed a lavish buffet breakfast every day of our trip in the main restaurant. The spread was colourful and well-curated. Along with South Indian and English breakfast staples, the restaurant also included delicious North Indian fare. However, we’d have liked to have more local Goan delicacies as part of the buffet. There were live counters for dosas, eggs, waffles, pancakes and more – most of which were easily customisable on request. Apart from these, we relished fresh baked items, salads, juices and more to round off our meal before we headed out to explore the area.

We also enjoyed a selection of Cucina Rosetta’s lunch and dinner delicacies through buffet meals. The North Indian cuisine, including Rajasthani delights, especially stood out to us. The kebabs and tikkas, as well as classic gravies, were yummy and satisfying. While one can also take comfort in their Pan-Asian and Italian offerings, don’t miss the chance to taste some Goan food while you’re here. Apart from favourites like Vindaloo, Xacuti and Cladine, the a la carte menu also features a set “Goan meal experience” (with veg and non-veg options). We paired our food with great classic cocktails made with premium spirits, including local libations like feni. Our multiple meals made us realise that Elements by Rosetta manages to cater to a wide variety of tastes and preferences, and attempts to provide choices that will please different categories of travellers.
