Toscano Has Arrived In Delhi And Its A Must-Visit For Italian Food Lovers

Delhi’s food scene never ceases to amaze. From authentic Japanese ramen bowls to soulful Moroccan tagines, the city is a melting pot of global cuisines, constantly pushing culinary boundaries. Amid this vibrant landscape, the newly opened Toscano at Select City Walk promises a taste of Italy like no other. I recently dined there, and let me just say – I can’t wait to return. With a menu crafted to transport you to a sunlit Italian countryside, every dish was a delightful testament to finesse and flavour.

We began our culinary journey with Arancini e Mozzarella Fritta, golden fried cheesy Italian rice balls made with Arborio rice. The crumb-fried fresh mozzarella inside oozed indulgence with every bite, perfectly complemented by the crunchy exterior. Served with a medley of carrots, zucchini, broccoli, haricot verts, and a tangy arrabbiata sauce, this dish set a high bar for what was to follow.

Next came the Pesto Chicken Bruschetta – a flavorful balance of textures. The herb oil-rubbed grilled bread provided a sturdy base for the succulent roasted bell peppers and tender chicken, while the red pepper coulis added a zingy freshness. Paired with mixed greens, it was the kind of dish that stays with you long after the last bite.

For salads, we tried the Insalata di Cesare and Insalata di Pollo e Funghi. The Caesar salad was a fresh, vibrant mix of young romaine leaves, crunchy pesto croutons, and aged Parmesan shavings, brought together with a creamy house dressing and a sprinkling of toasted pumpkin seeds. The chicken and mushroom salad, on the other hand, was a symphony of flavours-pulled roast chicken, roasted mushrooms, apple slices, carrots, a soft-boiled egg, and gouda cheese drizzled with sweet balsamic dressing. Every forkful was a medley of textures and tastes.

Feeling indulgent, we moved on to Pane all’aglio Ripieno, Toscano’s filled garlic bread. Stuffed with Harissa chicken, roasted bell peppers, garlic, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese, this dish was both hearty and delightful. The warmth of the harissa paired beautifully with the creamy cheeses.

Craving some pizza, we opted for the Vegetarian Fungi e Cipolla – a white pizza with no marinara sauce. Topped with mixed mushrooms, salted ricotta, balsamic-glazed onions, romaine greens, goat cheese crumble, and a drizzle of truffle oil, it was earthy and rich in every bite. We also tried their signature Toscano Pizza, a vibrant offering of pesto chicken, bell peppers, onions, olives, and boiled egg, all on a perfectly hand-stretched sourdough base.

For pasta, we went classic with the Spaghetti Carbonara, a decadent blend of bacon, egg yolk, cream, Parmesan, and crushed pepper. Every forkful of the creamy, silky pasta was deeply satisfying.

The meal ended on a sweet note with Classic Tiramisu and Dutch Truffle Popcorn Cake. While the tiramisu offered the timeless combination of coffee-soaked bread and mascarpone cream, the popcorn cake stood out as a playful treat. Topped with caramelized popcorn, drizzled in caramel chocolate sauce, and paired with vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect balance of sweet and crunchy.

All in all, Toscano’s impeccable flavours and elegant ambience make it a must-visit for Italian food lovers. The staff was friendly and cooperative, which amped up our experience. At the time, the restaurant had yet to get a liquor license which is why I wasn’t able to explore their cocktail menu. However, if you’re in the mood for wood-fired pizzas, comforting bowls of pasta, or indulgent desserts, this restaurant has something to please every palate.

Dumping Them Out: College Football, Wicked, Italian Baker

Welcome back to another episode of Dumping Them Out. The show where the GIF’s are repeats and I don’t give you the names of the girls.

Every Saturday I spend a portion of my day getting mad at Brandon Walker college football takes. I’ve noticed this year his strategy has essentially been to declare that every team in college football sucks. Then claim victory the team inevitably loses a couple games, as every team except for like 2 or 3 will do, then it’s all “See I told you they weren’t good!”.

God damn it Brandon there are 12 playoff spots! There has to be 12 teams that get in! And they’re all “good” relatively speaking. If they all suck then you must just hate college football. Feels kinda bullshit to me to set the bar for being good at “a real threat to win the National Championship”. Anybody can do that god damn it. I know you watch enough football to come up with something better than that.

And yes I’m overly sensitive because I’m an Indiana fan and I’m tired of him hammering home how much they suck. We get it. Sorry for being excited about the 1 good football season we’ve ever had. BUT YOU SAID THEY SUCKED AND WERE GOING TO LOSE EVERY FUCKING WEEK THIS SEASON AND WERE FINALLY RIGHT WHEN THEY LOST TO OHIO STATE THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG YOU DON’T GET TO GLOAT ABOUT THAT GOD DAMN IT! YOU WERE THE MOST WRONG PERSON ABOUT INDIANA ON THE PLANET ALL YEAR LONG.

Ok sorry. Got that out of my system. Regardless, it’s very hilarious that Indiana did EXACTLY what they could not do against Ohio State yesterday. They proved everyone who talked shit about them right. But Indiana still came out a winner last night because every SEC team decided to shit the bed. I didn’t think it was possible for a team to come out looking worse than Indiana did yesterday. But boy was I wrong. Thanks Alabama.

Remember when people tried to say Alabama was a real threat to win the National Championship because they beat LSU? That was a weird overreaction.

I went to see Wicked yesterday. Here’s a few takeaways from a non-movie guy with no real prior knowledge of the plot going into it. Which Steven Cheah pretended to do the other day when he wrote a blog, which when you break it down said, “I didn’t like Wicked because I don’t like musicals but if you like musicals then you might enjoy it”.. Thanks for the insight Steve.

Thought 1: They live in a world where animals talk. But when they first encounter a girl with green skin, they lose their fucking minds like it’s the craziest, scariest shit they’ve ever witnessed. Feels like they would have been a little less shocked by that considering they live in a magical fantasy wizard land.

Thought 2: Ariana Grande is awesome. A legitimately great & funny actress. I thought her character was hilarious. Would love to see her go back to acting instead of focusing on music.

Thought 3: The song Popular is really an all-time banger.

However many rappers and musical artists have already sampled that chorus, it’s not enough. Keep ’em coming. Really need Kanye to drop this beat for real someday.

Side Note: When I was searching “Wicked” on YouTube, I came across this song by some random prisoner. I remember seeing it in a TikTok years ago and I listened to it about a thousand times. Idk what horrific things this man may or may not have done to get himself locked up, but regardless, someone’s gotta make this into a real song.

Thought 4: Were fans of the Wizard of Oz pissed when Wicked rose in popularity? Because the writers of Wicked kind of just took a big ol’ shit on the entire premise of Wizard of Oz. If you aren’t familiar with the story, they took the Wicked Witch of The West and made her into the good guy. They made the Wizard of Oz and his friends the assholes who were trying to silence talking animals. It’s all very political. Oddly timely (although the book was written in 1995). But regardless, I’d think big Wizard of Oz stans would have been like, “Who the fuck gave you the right to change the entire backstory of such a classic movie?”

Imagine if someone did that with Charlie & The Chocolate Factory? Like they just created a backstory of Willie Wonka and made him into a pedophile? We get to see what really happened when kids fell into the chocolate river. That’d make you look at the original a lot differently.

Thought 5: I then watched the original Wizard of Oz from 1939 last night after getting home (crazy nobody has made any sort of remake since then). But it does not hold up. A lot of plot holes in that movie. The Wicked Witch of The West just keeps showing up and doing nothing. She could have killed the shit out of Dorothy a million times. She deserved to “melt”.

I loved Wicked overall. I’m a fan of musicals and Broadway shows in general. Of course, if you’re staunchly against musicals and can’t get past the corniness factor, then you might not like it. But if you go in with a halfway open mind, even if you’re not typically a musical person, I think you’d enjoy the movie. I give it an 8.5/10. A good one to see with your wife, girlfriend, kids, etc. Should make everyone happy, and won’t be complete torture for you.

I’m a fan of Ian Rapoport as a personality and all. He seems like a good enough dude when he goes on Pardon My Take. Doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously. But I love this story.

Anybody in the, “finding out news 10 minutes before it would have dropped anyways” business deserves to be lied to at all times. It’s the fakest job in the world. It contributes nothing to the world of sports, but somehow these guys have tricked companies like ESPN and the NFL Network into paying them millions of dollars to do it. Not that the job isn’t a grind. I’m sure it sucks to have to be glued to your phone like that all the time. But it’s the most unnecessary occupation in the world. There’s no reason we need to hear contract news from someone like Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter, instead of from the source of the news itself. If I was ever in a position like Mike Mularkey was, I’d do the exact same thing.

Speaking of people I’m a fan of, Baker Mayfield did Tommy Devito’s signature “I am Italian” celebration after scoring a TD vs the Giants today.

That seemed a little unnecessary. I guess when you’re Tommy DeVito, and you did the whole Tommy Cutlets/face of Italy thing last year, which the media//Barstool Sports decided to violently shove down everyone’s throats, then that’s going to happen. But it’s kind hilarious to score a TD against a team as hopeless the 2-8 Giants are right now, and take a shot at a backup backup QB who’s only in the game because his team has publicly thrown in the towel and are in full tank mode. They’re not even putting up a fight. All is fair in professional football. But that seemed a bit rude Baker.

An OnlyFans star who fled to Switzerland after being accused of owing £1.25million in taxes has hit back at claims that she is on the run.

Italian officials say Madalina Ioana Filip, known as Mady Gio, owes them a fortune after allegedly evading tax by claiming she was paying it abroad.

The 27-year-old is believed to have left Italy while the inquiry was ongoing and says she plans to stay in Switzerland.

She told her 1.5 million Instagram followers that Italian taxmen have demanded 1.5 million euros after accusing her of not declaring all her earnings in 2021.

Authorities reportedly looked into the lavish lifestyle she displayed on social media and spoke of in interviews, and found that the earnings she declared were not proportionate.

She told her 1.5 million Instagram followers that Italian taxmen have demanded 1.5 million euros after accusing her of not declaring all her earnings in 2021

Mady was therefore reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Busto Arsizio for the crime of false declaration, according to Italian media.

Investigators reportedly said that she decided to move her residence to Switzerland in early 2022.

She allegedly did so to obtain a more favorable tax situation, declaring just over 50 thousand euros of income.

Her case is reportedly being handled by the public prosecutor’s office in Busto Arsizio, Lombardy.

But the adult content creator shrugged off the demand saying simply: ‘I now live in Switzerland.’

She added: ‘I have always paid taxes, both in Italy and Switzerland.’

Taking to Instagram on October 7, Mady raged against claims that she’s a tax cheat.

She said: ‘I read newspaper articles accusing me of tax evasion.

‘My right to privacy and, above all, the inviolable principle of innocence until proven guilty have been violated.

Mady, who is believed to hold joint UK-Italian nationality, left Rome while the inquiry was ongoing

‘These are just accusations for which I have already instructed my lawyers to defend me in all appropriate places.’

According to Italian news agency ANSA, her lawyer Riccardo Lanza said: ‘We will challenge every provision.

‘My client has relied on professionals who at this point will have to answer for any errors. She has always acted according to the law’.

The star, who is of Romanian origin, reportedly moved to Italy aged 12 and grew up in Varese.

She previously worked as a waitress for ten years in her family’s restaurant and bars for around 1,000 euros a month.

Since moving into OnlyFans content, she says her highest paying clients pay an average of 7,000 euros each per month, and last year she was listed as the woman who earns the most on the site in Italy.

Mady has made a number of TV and radio appearances and recently spoke in an interview with talk show La Zanzara.

She said of her job: ‘It’s not a walk in the park: you always need a new idea to earn the figures I earn. It’s a job like all the others, it’s a job I like and it’s almost a blessing.

‘Before I was a nun, thanks to OnlyFans I’ve opened up my mind.’

Asked whether she’d ever reconsider her dramatic life change with her move into adult content, she said: ‘Second thoughts? None, on the contrary. I wish I had done it before.

‘I was a waitress for 10 years in the family restaurant. At home everyone is happy, even the great-grandmother.

‘She says that as long as I don’t kill anyone and I pay taxes, you can do anything’.

Loca – The Social House, in GK-1, is making waves as the latest must-visit hotspot for food and cocktail aficionados. My recent visit to this dynamic eatery left me thoroughly impressed. As I stepped into Loca, its cosy, yet stylish atmosphere welcomed me. The restaurant’s decor strikes a delightful balance between comfort and sophistication, creating a setting that feels both intimate and energizing. This duality is reflective of Loca’s nature: a relaxed haven by day that morphs into a lively social hub by night. The vibrant ambience, complemented by foot-thumping music, set me up for an exciting dining experience.

Loca specializes in Mediterranean and Italian cuisines. The restaurant was brought to life by a team of founders – Gurjas Sahni, Manroop Sahni, Abhiraj Kohli, and Abhishek Sharma – who envisioned not just a dining establishment but a social house that melds exceptional food, innovative cocktails, and a spirited atmosphere.

On the evening of my visit, Loca was buzzing with excitement due to a bar takeover by the newly-launched Tequila52. As a tequila lover, I couldn’t be happier. I kicked off the evening with the Picante – a cocktail that struck the perfect balance. It wasn’t overly spicy and the tequila’s rich flavor shone through. The Mexican Romera, another tequila-based cocktail, was equally delightful.

One would not always expect bar food to be just as good but Loca defied that expectation. While the drinks were exceptional, Loca’s food menu proved to be just as remarkable. The evening began with the Arabic Veg Platter, which was a true standout. The paneer skewers were perfectly roasted, exuding a smoky aroma that was beautifully complemented by the falafel and grilled vegetables. Next up was the Zucchini Boat, which was nothing short of a revelation. The cheesy stuffing was decadently rich and packed with flavour.

As I contemplated my next choice, I spotted a server delivering an intriguing dish that instantly piqued my interest. It turned out to be the Falafel Platter, complete with an array of dips and a balloon pita – light as air and puffed up like a balloon. The pita bread was a delight, and the accompanying dips were a perfect match.

Despite being quite full, I couldn’t resist indulging in dessert. Loca’s dessert offerings continued to impress. The Tiramisu was impeccably balanced – not too bitter, not too sweet. The Torta Royale, a mascarpone baked cake, was simply divine and left me longing for more.

As I left Loca, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction and contentment. Loca has quickly become a favourite of mine, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
