In a carousel post, Imtiaz gives us a glimpse into the heart of Amritsar’s food scene – Harish Pehalwan’s Dhaba, a spot known for its kulchas. The post includes an image of the preparation process, showing workers rolling out dough and preparing a spicy, aromatic potato filling with a medley of mashed potatoes, onions and traditional spices, ready to be tucked inside the dough. The scene is a perfect reflection of the dedication and expertise required to create this mouthwatering dish.

But it’s the next photo that captures the true essence of the kulcha – a perfectly baked, golden-brown Amritsari kulcha, piping hot and ready to be devoured.

Imtiaz, in his caption, nails the essence of this dish. He says, “Chef with attitude is a recipe for great food!!! They know what they are serving!! Presenting my favourite from a city known for food – Harish Pehalwan’s Dhaba in Amritsar.” His words echo the sentiments of countless food lovers who flock to Amritsar just to experience the joy of a freshly made kulcha.

Peter Schmeichel reveals Sir Alex Ferguson threatened to ‘SACK’ him after heated row at Man United, as the legendary goalkeeper opens up on his ‘biggest regret in football’

    • The former goalkeeper has claimed Ferguson wanted to sack him

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to kick him out of the club after the pair got into a heated dressing room row.

Schmeichel was an integral part of United’s winning machine during his seven years at the club between 1991 and 1999.

He won five league titles and finished on the ultimate high of a Champions League triumph to complete a historic Treble in his final season.

But it was not all plain sailing for the giant Dane at Old Trafford, as Schmeichel has claimed Ferguson wanted to sack him following a 2-0 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield in 1995, and he only saved his Old Trafford career by apologising to his manager and team-mates.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet, Schmeichel explained: ‘Sir Alex Ferguson picked on me after a game and the second half was so bad, but I made a lot of saves and I felt like I kept the team in. He blamed me for my goal kicks.

‘I felt really hard done by for him picking on me. My head went and that was probably my biggest regret in football and I’m not repeating that.

‘On a Monday morning, he called me into his office and said that he was going to sack me and that we can’t have a player doing this. I accepted that and I apologised to him.

‘He had a meeting in the changing room after and it was the worst I’ve ever seen him. He was so angry. He never done that in training before. He left and then I apologised to the team. My behaviour was so out of order. There are certain things you can do and certain things you can’t do.

‘In the 90 minutes, I feel like you can say whatever because it’s all about winning. Before the game and after the game, you can’t say anything. It’s up to the manager or the coach to talk about what happened. You can’t go in and say you played bad, but I did that. I shouldn’t have done that. But he never brought it up again.’

Former United players and staff have often talked about Ferguson’s infamous ‘hairdryer treatment’ where he would turn on his team to get a reaction from them.

Addressing Ferguson’s man-management style at United, Schmeichel insisted the Scot would often pick on certain players and enjoyed confrontation as he felt it would get the best out of the group.

Schmeichel conceded that the exchanges between Ferguson and his senior stars would often be ‘brutal to watch’, but it clearly worked as United went on to win 13 title in the first 21 years of the Premier League.

‘What I learned very quickly was that Sir Alex Ferguson needed an out,’ Schmeichel added.

‘Very often it was in games where things were going well, or he needed something off his chest. He had certain players that he would do that to.

‘I was one of them, Gary Pallister was one of them and Roy Keane was one of them. Ryan [Giggs] was also one of them. It would have been brutal to watch but you were allowed to talk back as a player. He wanted that confrontation because it was shaking things up. He wanted that.

‘What I learned from him was that 95% of everything he said was by the sign and he was thinking about it and was waiting for the opportunity to say that. He would pick those moments and once it happened, gone.’

Ex-Real Madrid star launches bizarre rant at Cristiano Ronaldo – suggesting the legendary striker ‘doesn’t know how to play football’

    • Ronaldo is the only player in the history of football to have reached 900 goals
    • One former Real Madrid star believes that Ronaldo’s ‘only objective’ is to score
    • LISTEN NOW: It’s All Kicking Off! , available wherever you get your podcasts. New episodes every Monday and Thursday

A former Real Madrid forward has launched a scathing attack on Cristiano Ronaldo, suggesting the 39-year-old striker is too selfish.

Ronaldo became the first player in the history of the sport to reach 900 goals earlier this month when he scored for Portugal against Croatia.

The Portuguese star has been hailed as one of the most effective goalscorers in the history of the game by many, continuing his exploits in front of goal into his late 30s.

However, Antonio Cassano does not share the same view and while speaking on the Viva El Futbol podcast, the Italian bizarrely criticised Ronaldo despite his landmark achievement.

‘Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football,’ said Cassano. ‘He could score 3000 goals, I don’t give a f***.

‘Higuain, Aguero, Benzema, Lewandowski, Ibrahimovic and Suarez knew how to link-up with the team.

‘They knew how to do a lot of things, unlike Ronaldo whose only objective has always been to score.’

This is not the first time that Cassano has taken issue with ‘CR7’. Speaking back in 2022, the former Los Blancos striker went as far as to say it was time for Ronaldo to hang up his boots, while he was playing for Manchester United.

‘A guy like Cristiano has to think about himself and if you can’t do it anymore then you have to call it a day,’ Cassano said. ‘It’s a rule in all sports. Retire, that’s enough!

‘He has won everything, he has been a phenomenon, he has earned a lot of money and now he is not a starter at Manchester United.’

Cassano took his own advice in 2017, calling it quits after 18 years in the sport which saw him play in Spain and Italy.

The now 42-year-old started his career at Italian side Bari before making a name for himself during a five-year spell at Roma in Serie A.

Cassano only managed four goals in a two-year spell at Real Madrid between 2006 to 2008

His exploits at ‘I Giallorossi’ earned him his big move to Real Madrid, but he only netted four goals in 29 appearances across two years in the Spanish capital before being shipped back permanently to his homeland.

Compare that to Ronaldo who netted at a rate of more than a goal a game in the white of Madrid, scoring 450 goals in 438 games.

Cassano and Ronaldo never crossed paths at Los Blancos, with the former Italy international leaving on loan to Sampdoria in 2007, before a permanent move a year later, while the now Al-Nassr striker arrived at the Spanish giants in 2009.
