    Jon Pardi stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to talk about new music, how his life has changed now being a father of two, reveal if he has a new album coming out soon and more!  

    Jon Pardi and his wife, Summer, welcomed their second daughter, Sienna Grace Pardi, back in July 2024. And this time around, they have been a lot more chill with baby number two, compared to when they had their first baby, Presley Fawn, in 2023. When choosing what to name their second baby, Pardi’s wife loved the name Sienna and he liked the name Grace, so they combined them because they thought it sounded good together. Now that he is a father of two, his life has changed in many ways. Before, they could just hop in the car and go somewhere fast, now it’s a whole ordeal and takes forever packing all the things their kids need. He’s also staying home a lot more and his party days have had to take a back seat. Another thing he’s focusing more on now that he’s a father of two is his health and making sure he takes better care of himself.  

    Pardi released his new song “Friday Night Heartbreaker” and described it as a “hot girl warning song” and a PSA so people don’t get their heartbroken. It’s a fun song that will get people dancing. He gravitated towards it because it has a “cool, spooky vibe” and it’s a different type of song for him. For the new chapter of music he’s working on, he partnered with producer Jay Joyce and the two immediately hit it off. He challenged him to change his sound and helped him create fresh, new music. He thought “Friday Night Heartbreaker” was a great lead off for the new project because it screams “listen to me.”  

    Pardi is doing a bunch of shows until the end of the year, including his Christmas shows, which he loves. He did one Christmas show in New York City last year and now they are bringing that show to venues in the West Coast and chose to do them in casinos because there is always room, and he really wants people to hear the 15-piece band he brings on stage with him. He’s also doing his Mr. Saturday Night Tour which is all amphitheaters, both tours are keeping him busy, but he said it’s a lot of fun. Before a show, Pardi will warm up his voice by drinking hot water and doing vocal exercises. If he were to go on stage without doing a vocal warmup, he would be good to go by the third song.  

    Pardi is known for his signature cowboy hat, but he does get recognized in public if he’s not wearing it. He recalled a time when he was at a Top Golf outside of Philadelphia and wore a polo shirt, shorts and no cowboy hat and thought no one would recognize him. Then, two teenage girls and their mom came up to him asking for a picture and he couldn’t believe it. He is 6’4 so he is hard to miss, also his wife is always posting pictures of their life that fans like to keep up with.  

    His favorite song of his is ”Head Over Boots” because you can dance to it and it’s a fun song about falling in love. When he wrote that song, he went to a Texas dancehall and saw everyone was dancing to sad music. He realized people could really use a dancing song about falling in love and that’s what inspired it. When he creates music, he does it to try and hit people’s emotions and make them feel something. The song became his first number one, and it also made people feel happier when they were dancing so it was a good moment and it’s the last song he plays during his shows. Pardi shared his Mount Rushmore of songs include “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson, “I’m Gonna Find Another You” by John Mayer, “My Girl” by The Temptations.  

    On Pardi’s new record, they went after the soul in his voice. He also revealed that the new record has a father daughter song called “She Drives Away,” which he described as very beautiful. He shared that his new record is personal, but it still makes you want to go dancing and it will be available at the top of next year!

    Gardens by the Bay’s (GBTB) Mid-Autumn Festival is back, and with it, the return of the Flower Carpet (this second edition is bigger) as well as a two-storey lantern set designed by popular local artist Lee Kow Fong (aka Ah Guo), among other dazzling illuminations.

    From now till Sept 22, 2024, you can relive childhood memories or (re)discover how Mid-Autumn used to be, as nostalgia meets lantern-lit wonder at GBTB And psst… Admission is free!

    Nine lantern sets not to miss

    1. “Celebrations”

    Created by Singaporean illustrator Lee Kow Fong (aka Ah Guo), this stunning 20m-long, two-storey lantern set is inspired by the Dragonfly Lake within GBTB and the moon. It features over 23 classic Mid-Autumn Festival elements, including colourful lanterns and traditional treats like mooncakes and gem biscuits.

    Joining Ah Guo’s characters Kiddo, Momo, and Xiao P is Binbin, a new rabbit created specially for Gardens by the Bay, with its name inspired by the Gardens’ Chinese name.

    2. “The Shophouse”

    Thankfully, such shophouses still exist in our Lion City. They are typically two or three-storey high with narrow frontages often paired with a covered walkway known as the five-foot way.

    Originally combining commercial and residential uses, these shophouses have been transformed into lively community spaces. Can you spot Ah Guo’s signature characters, Kiddo, Momo, Xiao P, and Binbin amid this lantern set?

    3. “Dragon Playground”

    Ah, those were the days. Screaming with glee, running around all sweaty in HDB estate playgrounds. And arguably the most nostalgic design in those playgrounds is the Dragon Playground (only four remain in Singapore), the most iconic being the one located in the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground.

    This lantern set is not just for show. In fact, it features as a play area and even doubles up as a stage for cultural performances happening during the festival.

    4. “Wishes Beneath The Moonlight”

    The Pelican Playground, once a cherished landmark on Dover Road, may have been demolished, but it continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many Singaporeans. Pelicans, known for their close-knit flocks and cooperative nature, reflect the Chinese cultural importance of harmonious relationships.

    This lantern set also features chrysanthemums and quails, a traditional Chinese art pairing symbolising peace, harmony, and prosperity. Together, these elements capture the essence of the Mid-Autumn Festival, conveying warm wishes for well-being and unity.

    Kids, pry those eyes away from your iPad screen, and enjoy life’s simple joys like toys, family gatherings, and the magic of bubbles. Speaking of bubbles, the bubble play at this lantern set will happen at 8.15pm and 9.15pm nightly, with each session lasting five minutes.

    6. “Colourful Blossoms”

    Regarded as the king of flowers in Chinese culture, the peony symbolises elegance, beauty, and prosperity. Inspired by the phrase “hua cuan jin ju”, which signifies a vibrant and prosperous scene, this floral arch features over 20 lantern peonies.

    7. “Joyful Childhood Memories: Folk Games From Korea”

    A collab with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore, this lantern set showcases three venerated children’s folk games, not too dissimilar to the ones most of us Singaporeans played growing up:

    • Dak-ssaum (Cockfight), a game where two or more children copy the movements and sounds of fighting roosters while hopping on one leg. The goal? See who falls or gets knocked over first
    • Jegichagi (Jegi Kicking) sees which player can keep a Jegi (a shuttlecock-like object resembling a chapteh) for the longest time in the air, using only their feet
    • Kkamak-Japgi has a blindfolded tagger trying to catch other players who are hiding. Hidden players have to clap their hands for the tagger to try and locate them. (Not to be inauspicious, but yes, it’s like that hide-and-seek game in The Conjuring. Eeks.)

    8. “Vertical Mid-Autumn”

    The title of this lantern set describes a distinctive lantern display method where households attach decorated lanterns to bamboo poles, raising them several feet high on trees or platforms around the home, enhancing the festive mood.

    9. “Colonnade of Lights”

    You’re looking at 1,000 vibrant paper lanterns crafted by the community. As you stroll under this display, look up and admire the details of the myriad colourful, hand-painted lanterns overhead. This really makes for photo-ops galore lah.

    A fabulous Flower Carpet at Supertree Grove

    This year’s Flower Carpet displays a stunning depiction of Singapore’s iconic Dragon Playground, framed by a vibrant border of the national flower, the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim.

    Spanning 44m in diameter (the length of two tennis courts end-to-end), it’s created with 75,000 potted plants, which include colourful chrysanthemums and the resilient Cyathula prostrata. Unlike other floral carpets that use cut flowers, this sustainable display consists of potted plants that will be replanted later.

    Be sure to use the walkways that let you cut through the installation — talk about up getting up close and personal!

    The Flower Carpet is free to view from Sept 5 to 15, 10am to 10pm. Enjoy the display from the 2.5m viewing platform, the OCBC Skyway, or the World of Plants outdoor gardens.

    A throwback to past editions of GBTB’s Mid-Autumn Festival displays

    From the presence of resplendent dragons to online performances and activities (blame Covid-19), GBTB’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations have always been lit.

    2019

    Themed “Legacies”, that year’s celebration featured vibrant displays. Think: a grand archway formed by the spiralling body of a magnificent Chinese dragon, and a stretch of floating lanterns more than 120m long inspired by Chinese landscape paintings.

    2020

    Just because Singaporeans were adjusting to a “new normal” due to Covid-19 didn’t mean the celebrations had to stop. In 2020, GBTB offered both onsite and online activities.

    Visitors could admire six lantern sets with themes of family reunion and community unity, including “Apricot Grove”, a tribute to healthcare workers, and “Water Song”, inspired by a famous Chinese poem.

    Online, people enjoyed a virtual lantern preview, performances by award-winning flutist Rit Xu, a snowskin mooncake demonstration conducted by People’s Association, Chinese craft tutorials, and even haikus.



    2021

    Aptly, that year’s theme of “Blessings” hoped to bring tidings of good health and better days ahead to visitors. And what better way to do so than following the tradition of releasing lanterns to the sky in hopes of good blessings?

    A spectacular light-up of the lantern set “Sky Lanterns” saw 70 lanterns floating up the Supertrees at the Gardens’ main entrance. At 32m wide and 19m tall, “Sky Lanterns” was the largest among the nine lantern sets featured in 2021.

    2022

    For 2022, the theme “Reunion” saw a magnificent 11m-tall phoenix-themed lantern set, and all the things Singaporeans love lah — a marketplace to makan and hang out, family-friendly activities and workshops as well as energetic cultural performances to augment the festive vibes.

    2023

    Each of the nine lantern sets was inspired by the rich tapestry of Chinese mythology, legends and cultures, all linked to the central theme “Garden of Blooms”, which commemorated the deep connections between people and joyous reunions between family and friends.

    Hunter Biden Offers New Plea in Tax Case, in 11th-Hour Bid To Avoid Trial Focused on His Lifestyle

    A judge in California may decide in a matter of hours if Hunter Biden’s trial for felony tax evasion will take place, after the first son’s attorneys proposed an unusual plea structure that would allow Biden to maintain his innocence while accepting punishment from the government.

    Biden’s plea, should prosecutors and the judge agree to it, would concede that the government has enough evidence to convict him should the trial move forward, but lets Biden maintain his proclamation of innocence. 

    Just before jury selection was set to begin Thursday, Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, informed Judge Mark Scarsi that the first son would change to what is known as an “Alford Plea” after originally pleading not guilty. 

    Biden’s attorneys in 2023 had worked out on an agreement with Special Counsel David Weiss to allow the first son to plead guilty to alleged tax crimes and his illegal purchase of a firearm while addicted to drugs and avoid prison time. The deal collapsed after it came under criticism from GOP members of Congress as a “sweetheart deal” and a judge in Delaware rejected that plea agreement.

    Biden would go on to be convicted in the firearms case. He has yet to be sentenced in the matter and could face prison.

    Now the president’s only surviving son is seeking to avoid the embarrassment of a second trial, which would again put a focus on his sordid lifestyle while addicted to alcohol and crack cocaine. He still does not want to admit wrongdoing.

    According to Cornell University Law School, an Alford Plea, also known as a best-interests plea, “registers a formal admission of guilt towards charges in criminal court while the defendant simultaneously expresses their innocence toward those same charges.” Should prosecutors agree to the plea and Judge Scarsi accept it, Biden will have to accept whatever punishment is handed down. 

    Prosecutors asked for time to consider Biden’s Alford Plea after Mr. Lowell made the announcement in court Thursday, according to Politico. Judge Scarsi’s ruling on the plea could come in a matter of hours. 

    The tax trial was set to be one of the most embarrassing moments for Biden, his father, and the rest of his family. Prosecutors alleged that he dodged more than $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019 while he was making millions of dollars by doing consulting work for entities in Communist China, Ukraine, and Romania, among other countries. During that same time, prosecutors say Biden spent more than $1 million in cash withdrawals from banks and hundreds of thousands of dollars on payments to “various women.” 

    Biden still faces up to 17 years in prison and a hefty fine if Judge Scarsi accepts the Alford Plea, though given that this is his first tax offense, it is unlikely he would get a punishment anywhere near that maximum. He is set to be sentenced in Delaware either in September or October for his illegal purchase of a firearm; the judge in that case has yet to set a firm date.

    Those lucky enough to score a Build-to-Order flat in the Woodleigh, Bidadari and Potong Pasir areas will be happy to know that there’s a new and affordable meal option in your hood. 

    Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre just opened on Thursday (Sept 5) and there are 39 new hawkers to patronise. 

    It spans around 3,255 sqm and has more than 600 seats.  

    The hawker centre is also conveniently located next to Woodleigh MRT and is connected to The Woodleigh Mall.

    Additionally, in the future, there will be a bus interchange, which is part of an integrated development that includes retail, childcare, dining and community spaces. 

    But the real highlight is the number of young entrepreneurs who’ve set up shop at the hawker centre, from a 25-year-old prawn mee specialist to a couple in their 30s selling Mexican fusion food.  

    When AsiaOne visited Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre on Wednesday (Thur 4), we were surprised by the number of millennials and Gen Zs manning the stalls.

    Here are some you can patronise. 

    Ji Hui Lai Nasi Kerabu, #01-07 

    As the name suggests, this stall sells nasi kerabu and is co-owned by Wong Yi Xiong, 34, who formerly worked in logistics in a multinational corporation. 

    Yi Xiong also has experience in the food and beverage (F&B) industry in Malaysia and set up Ji Hui Lai Nasi Kerabu together with a friend. 

    They’ve created their own Nasi Kerabu ($7.80) recipe with a twist to appeal to Singaporeans, and the dish comes with bright blue pea rice, fried chicken, various spices, a cracker and chilli. 

    We really enjoyed their rendition of the dish and the chicken was extremely tender, pairing well with the accompanying spices. 

    Style Palate, #01-30 

    Twenty-five-year-old Shi Long is the owner of Style Palate, which specialises in restaurant-quality French cuisine. 

    Shi Long started his culinary journey at the age of 16 and even did an exchange programme at a prestigious culinary institution in France. Back in Singapore, he honed his craft in several Michelin-star restaurants. 

    What inspired him to start a hawker stall was an encounter with a customer who was not able to afford high-end restaurant food. 

    He wanted to make quality food affordable for all, so he opened Style Palate. 

    Dishes such as braised beef, sous vide pork and duck confit are uncommon finds in a hawker centre setting, but Shi Long sells just that for wallet-friendly prices. 

    We tried the duck confit, which cost $12, and were pleasantly surprised by how tender the meat was. If you didn’t tell us otherwise, we would have thought that the dish was from an upscale restaurant. 

    Guan Kee Kway Chap, #01-19 

    Esther is no stranger to Singapore’s hawker scene.

    For years, the 33-year-old has helped managed several large F&B companies. 

    She also happens to be the daughter of the owners of the famous Guan Kee Kway Chap and has helped out at her parent’s stall since she was a child. 

    It has been her dream to continue their legacy, especially after seeing many popular hawker stalls close down and sell their recipes. 

    And she finally has made this come true with her new stall at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre. 

    M+ Fried Rice, #01-11 

    Another Gen Z entrepreneur to watch out for is Siti Nurnameera Abdul Samad. 

    The 26-year-old runs M+ Fried Rice, which sells a halal version of Chinese-style cuisine with a fusion twist. 

    Nurnameera was a former lab technician at a local polytechnic, and she felt that her calling was more with food than with science, so she made a bold career switch. 

    Her goal is to attract a diverse audience and celebrate culinary diversity in Singapore’s local food scene. 

    What makes her fried rice even more special is the machine she uses to cook it. 

    This was designed by a Hong Kong tzi char chef and it efficiently blends ingredients like eggs and rice to preserve the wok hei taste. 

    We got to try her Sambal Sakura Shrimp Fried Rice ($8) first-hand, and we couldn’t tell that it had been prepared with a machine — it was pretty good! 

    Nan Xiang Chicken Rice, #01-28 

    There’s also Shaun, 26, who owns Nan Xiang Chicken Rice and is taking over the reins from his ageing mother. 

    The second-generation hawker initially was pursuing a degree in marketing before deciding to make a career switch to preserve his mother’s business legacy. 

    After learning the ropes and adapting her chicken recipe, he took a leap of faith and opened his very first hawker stall at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre.

    We tried his Steamed Chicken Rice ($4.50). It takes a lot of skill to get the texture of chicken right, but Shaun nailed it.

    Liu Da Xia, #01-31 

    One of the youngest hawkers at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre is 25-year-old Liew Xiao Xuan. 

    As her parents are also in the F&B scene, she grew up immersed in the culinary world. 

    After graduating from Institute of Technical Education (ITE) last year in 2022, she worked in F&B for a while before deciding to set up her own stall. 

    While she is known for her umami-packed bowls of prawn mee, her speciality dish is white curry, something that one does not see often in Singapore.

    She hopes that more Singaporeans will learn about the dish and enjoy it like she does. 

    Pura Vida Cocina Mexican Fusion, #01-25 

    One stall that really stood out among the rest was Pura Vida Cocina.

    Specialising in Mexican fusion food, it was started by Millennial hawkers Kok Pin and Wong Min. 

    The husband-and-wife duo, who are both 36 years old, noticed the growing popularity of Mexican food among the Gen X and Gen Z communities and wanted to make the cuisine more accessible and healthier to them. 

    Prior to this, Kok Pin already had more than 10 years of experience in the F&B industry, so he was no stranger to the culinary world. 

    Wong Min left her job at an investment company to run the business with him. 

    Their colourful, extensive menu features Mexican rices, tacos, nachos and burrito bowls. 

    Our favourite was the Spiced Chicken Mexican Rice ($7.50). The chicken was well marinated and extremely tender. It’s a healthy, filling option for those who need more protein in their diet. 

    We also love the Vegetarian Nachos ($7.50), which makes a great sharing dish. 

    Origanics, #01-13

    Thirty-one-year-old Darryl is changing the way people eat vegetarian and vegan food with his stall, Origanics. 

    He began his culinary journey over a decade ago after he dropped out of polytechnic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he also ran tuck shop stalls in schools. 

    After being a vegetarian for a few years, he opened his first hawker stall selling plant-based dishes at Buangkok Hawker Centre. Now, he also has a branch at Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre. 

    While his menu items like Caramelised Char Siew Don ($7.50) and Chicken Cutlet Kolo Noodle ($6.50) don’t sound vegetarian, they actually are. 

    We tried their Signature Caramelised Char Siew Kolo Noodle ($5.90) and were blown away by how good it was.

    Upon first glance, the char siew does look like the real deal but when you bite into it, you can tell that it is plant-based. 

    Kallang Wantan Mee, #01-33 

    The 36-year-old owners of the stall, Sze En and Shen Ping, wanted to bring traditional Malaysian wantan mee to Singapore. 

    The dark sauce dish is not as commonly found in Singapore and Sze En, who grew up in Malaysia, prefers it. 

    Every element, from the wantan noodles and the spicy chilli, is made from scratch so that diners can get the authentic experience.

    The OLLI at Cal Poly Humboldt Program invites everyone 18 and older community to the OLLI “Fall 2024 Open House” Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Community Center, 1301 D St. in Arcata.

    Folks attending the event will meet OLLI instructors, staff and volunteers and can explore fall course offerings. Interactive displays will highlight course topics and light refreshments will be served. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in an OLLI giveaway.

    For college students

    Home Away From Home will host a potluck and “free stuff” distribution for local college students Sunday at 5 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D St. in Arcata.

    Home Away from Home builds a bridge between local college students and the broader community. Since 2018, volunteers have supported students by hosting potlucks and free meal and household supply distributions, serving over 1,000 local college students.

    All local college students are invited to enjoy a free meal with the community and pick up a free bag of household supplies, while supplies last. Food will be provided by community members and Rita’s Mexican Grill. Vegetarian, vegan, special diet and meat meal options will be available. Proof of college enrollment, such as a student ID or an active student email, is required.

    Community members who wish to attend the potluck are asked to bring a home-cooked dish large enough to serve 10 people with a serving utensil or a hot pad, if needed. College students are asked to only bring their appetites, but are welcome to bring a dish to share if they feel inclined.     Shares of Raymond Lifestyle Limited (RLL), a textiles and apparel maker demerged from the Gautam Singhania-led Raymond, froze in lower circuit of 5 per cent at Rs 2,869, after listing at Rs 3,020 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday. 

    Shares of RLL were frozen in lower circuit of 5 per cent on the BSE too, at Rs 2,850, after listing at Rs 3,000.

    The company’s stock also hit an intra-day high of Rs 3,100 on the BSE and NSE after listing.

    Around a combined 120,000 shares had already changed hands, while there were pending sell orders for 160,000 shares on the NSE and BSE till 10:09 AM.

    The scrip will be in Trade-for-Trade segment, where each transaction requires mandatory delivery, for 10 trading days.

    Raymond is India’s largest integrated worsted suiting manufacturer that offers end-to-end solutions for fabric and garmenting.  The company has some of the leading brands within its portfolio such as Raymond Ready to Wear, Park Avenue, ColorPlus, Parx, Raymond Made to Measure and Ethnix by Raymond, among others.

    Raymond has one of the largest exclusive retail networks in the country with about 1,450 stores in more than 600 towns.

    Raymond had fixed July 11, 2024, as the record date for the demerger of its lifestyle business from Raymond into RLL (formerly: Raymond Consumer Care) and for determining the entitlement of the shareholders of the company.

    The company had announced a share exchange ratio of 4:5, which means four shares of RLL would be allotted to shareholders for every five shares of Raymond that they held.

    In the April to June quarter (Q1FY25), RLL had reported 51 per cent year-on-year (YoY) drop in its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) at Rs 87 crore, compared to Rs 180 crore in Q1FY24.

    Net revenue declined 8 per cent YoY to Rs 1,249 crore from Rs 1,353 crore in the year-ago quarter.


    The company’s management said the lifestyle business was impacted due to subdued consumer demand, prolonged heat waves, general elections, fewer wedding dates and inflation, which affected its overall revenue performance and margins.


    As India continues to be a preferred sourcing destination, the China-plus-one strategy is playing its part, the company’s management said, while adding that Raymond is expanding its garmenting capacity by a third of its current levels. Once fully commissioned, this capacity expansion would make Raymond the third largest suit maker in the world, management noted.

    Raymond, in its FY24 annual report, said the company anticipates maintaining a profitable growth trajectory. In the domestic market, consumer sentiment is expected to remain positive, driven by the approaching wedding and festive seasons and surging demand for formal and daily wear categories.

    The company aims to introduce new initiatives to bolster growth during this period.


    In the branded apparel segment, Raymond aims to diversify its product range through the demerger of its lifestyle business, which will facilitate new launches in its core portfolio, and emphasise casualisation and expansion of its Ethnix wear category.


    The company reiterated its guidance of 12-15 per cent revenue growth and doubling of Ebitda to over Rs 2,000 crore by FY28 (that is 19 per cent CAGR) in the lifestyle business. This, along with a reduction in working capital to 60 days, should result in free-cash-flow generation of Rs 600-700 crore annually.


    The management’s aspirational growth targets will be supported by the doubling of its exclusive brand outlets (EBO) network to more than 900 stores by FY27; capitalising on the Bangladesh +1, China +1 and free trade agreement (FTA) opportunities; the extension of new categories such as innerwear and sleepwear; and the wedding wear opportunity, said Motilal Oswal Financial Services in a company update.

    In the past, the Raymond group has largely been viewed as a textile/apparel player.

    However the analyst meet on Lifestyle 2.0 brought to light its position in the wedding wear segment and aggressive targets, implying a sizeable business going ahead (Rs 3,800 crore/Rs 5,800 crore in FY27F/30F, as per management’s 1.5x/2.3x targets, respectively, over the FY24 level of Rs 2,540 crore).

    “Considering that Vedant Fashion gets a 16x FY26F EV/sales valuation for its wedding business, RLL’s valuation has the potential for an upside, above our/street estimates going ahead”, analysts at InCred Equities said in an analyst meet update.

    Meanwhile, Raymond said the company undertook a corporate action of demerging the Lifestyle business from Raymond, a move to unlock value for its shareholders.

    The board has also approved the scheme of arrangement for the demerger of its realty business to Raymond Realty Limited (RRL) to unlock the value for shareholders and harness growth potential in the Indian property market.

    The demerged entity RRL will be listed on the bourses after obtaining the necessary statutory and regulatory approvals, the company said.

    Raymond shareholder will receive one share of RRL for every one share of Raymond they hold.

    Unlocking value for shareholders of Raymond Ltd, shares of Raymond Lifestyle, which got demerged from the parent company in June this year, got listed on stock exchanges this morning. The stock is listed at Rs 3,020 on NSE and Rs 3,000 on BSE.

    Raymond Lifestyle’s listing is at a premium of 93% over the base price of Rs 1,562.65.

    The listing gives Raymond Lifestyle, a play on India’s wedding and ceremonial market, a valuation of around Rs 18,300 crore.

    As part of a group restructuring process, Raymond demerged its lifestyle business into a separate company and gave four shares of Raymond Lifestyle for every five shares held in Raymond.

    After listing, the stock hit the 5% lower circuit limit as early investors booked profits. Shares of Raymond Ltd also fell around 1%.Ventura Securities has valued the lifestyle business at Rs 30,000 crore which means a target price of Rs 4,927 per share.”Over the past four years prior to demerger, the management team at Raymond has scripted a sharp turnaround in the overall business. Not only has the company turned net debt free in FY24 (ahead of its stated timeline of FY25) but also returned a net cash position of Rs 200 crore,” Ventura Securities said.The company has guided for 12-15% revenue growth in the lifestyle business and also expects to double its Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) to over Rs 2,000 crore by FY28.

    Doubling down on the success of “Ethnix by Raymond” brand, Raymond is looking to speed up the rollout to a total of 350+ stores from the existing 114 stores.

    “Over FY24-27E, we forecast wedding revenues to grow at a CAGR of 19.2% to Rs 4,192 crore and EBITDA to grow at a CAGR of 17.7% to Rs 895 crore. We have conservatively modelled that the FY24 “wedding” margins of 21-22% should sustain over the forecast period,” Ventura analysts said.

    RLL has a legacy collection of well-established brands such as Park Avenue, Raymond, Parx, Ethnics by Raymond, and ColorPlus, yet it has remained underpenetrated with total EBOs (exclusive brand outlets) of 424 as of 1QFY25 end, Motilal said. The brokerage sees a strong growth potential for each brand which could reach at least 250 EBOs individually.

    The Indian textiles maker reported a multifold jump in first-quarter profit, helped by an exceptional gain from the sale of its consumer business. Raymond’s consolidated profit was 10.65 billion rupees ($128.7 million) for the three months ended June 30, compared with 809 million rupees a year earlier.

    As part of a restructuring process, Raymond also demerged its real estate business into a separately listed entity.
