Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks Junior League Hockey Team dropped both games on the road this past weekend against defending Frasier Cup Champ Helena, but they were both 1-goal contests.
Friday’s score was 1-0 and Saturday’s score was 4-3 in overtime.
In Friday’s game, the opposition had 49 shots on goal and the only one that got through was on a power play.
Head Coach J.J. Santagata says the past 2 weekends the goalie play has been phenomenal and that’s kept the Hawks in some games.
There’s 2 teams left in the Frontier Division that Sheridan has not yet played and one of those 2 are on the schedule for this weekend.
The Hawks visit Butte who is currently in 7th place out of the 8 teams in the division.
Santagata adds the Irish have had a decent amount of success the past few seasons, and although their record doesn’t show it, the team is better than what their record indicates.
The puck drops on both Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm.
Sheridan will be back at home next weekend vs. Rapid City.

Currently in every other sport aside from football, Hawaii is a part of the Big West Conference.
This addition ensures that the Mountain West Conference will have the minimum number of 8 teams to be officially recognized by the NCAA as a conference, with the exception of baseball and softball, because the University of Wyoming does not offer those 2 sports.

Tax officials scrutinised Madalina Ioana Filip’s lavish lifestyle on social media
By Elena Salvoni
Published: | Updated:
An OnlyFans star who fled to Switzerland after being accused of owing £1.25million in taxes has hit back at claims that she is on the run.
Italian officials say Madalina Ioana Filip, known as Mady Gio, owes them a fortune after allegedly evading tax by claiming she was paying it abroad.
The 27-year-old is believed to have left Italy while the inquiry was ongoing and says she plans to stay in Switzerland.
She told her 1.5 million Instagramfollowers that Italian taxmen have demanded 1.5 million euros after accusing her of not declaring all her earnings in 2021.
Authorities reportedly looked into the lavish lifestyle she displayed on social media and spoke of in interviews, and found that the earnings she declared were not proportionate.
The 27-year-old left Italy while the inquiry was ongoing and says she plans to stay in Switzerland
She told her 1.5 million Instagram followers that Italian taxmen have demanded 1.5 million euros after accusing her of not declaring all her earnings in 2021
Mady was therefore reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Busto Arsizio for the crime of false declaration, according to Italian media.
Investigators reportedly said that she decided to move her residence to Switzerland in early 2022.
She allegedly did so to obtain a more favorable tax situation, declaring just over 50 thousand euros of income.
Her case is reportedly being handled by the public prosecutor’s office in Busto Arsizio, Lombardy.
But the adult content creator shrugged off the demand saying simply: ‘I now live in Switzerland.’
She added: ‘I have always paid taxes, both in Italy and Switzerland.’
Taking to Instagram on October 7, Mady raged against claims that she’s a tax cheat.
She said: ‘I read newspaper articles accusing me of tax evasion.
‘My right to privacy and, above all, the inviolable principle of innocence until proven guilty have been violated.
Mady, who is believed to hold joint UK-Italian nationality, left Rome while the inquiry was ongoing
‘These are just accusations for which I have already instructed my lawyers to defend me in all appropriate places.’
According to Italian news agency ANSA, her lawyer Riccardo Lanza said: ‘We will challenge every provision.
‘My client has relied on professionals who at this point will have to answer for any errors. She has always acted according to the law’.
The star, who is of Romanian origin, reportedly moved to Italy aged 12 and grew up in Varese.
She previously worked as a waitress for ten years in her family’s restaurant and bars for around 1,000 euros a month.
Since moving into OnlyFans content, she says her highest paying clients pay an average of 7,000 euros each per month, and last year she was listed as the woman who earns the most on the site in Italy.
The 27-year-old adult content creator shrugged off the prosecutor’s demand saying simply: ‘I now live in Switzerland’
Mady has made a number of TV and radio appearances and recently spoke in an interview with talk show La Zanzara.
She said of her job: ‘It’s not a walk in the park: you always need a new idea to earn the figures I earn. It’s a job like all the others, it’s a job I like and it’s almost a blessing.
‘Before I was a nun, thanks to OnlyFans I’ve opened up my mind.’
Asked whether she’d ever reconsider her dramatic life change with her move into adult content, she said: ‘Second thoughts? None, on the contrary. I wish I had done it before.
‘I was a waitress for 10 years in the family restaurant. At home everyone is happy, even the great-grandmother.
‘She says that as long as I don’t kill anyone and I pay taxes, you can do anything’.

OnlyFans erotic star ‘flees to Switzerland owing Italian tax officials £1.25million after they probed her lavish lifestyle on social media’
LONDON — Social media users in the European Union will soon have a new forum to challenge decisions by platforms to remove posts and videos for breaking their rules or leave up others that may violate them.
An “out of court dispute settlement body” named the Appeals Center Europe said Tuesday it has been certified by Irish regulators to act as a referee on content moderation disputes across the 27-nation EU, starting with cases involving Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.
The center is similar to Meta’s Oversight Board, a quasi-independent body set up in 2020 that acts like a supreme court for thorny decisions about content moderation issues on Facebook, Instagram and Threads submitted by users around the world.
Under the EU’s digital rulebook known as the Digital Services Act, or DSA, tech companies and social media platforms are required to work with dispute settlement bodies and comply with any decisions they make. EU officials in Brussels wanted to give EU citizens a way to challenge any decisions made by Big Tech companies as they sought to balance the right to free speech against the goal of curbing online risks.
The center will hear appeals from users or groups located in the EU about “everything from violence and incitement to hate speech to bullying and harassment,” CEO Thomas Hughes said.
“It could be everything from a case that relates to a head of state all the way through to a neighborly dispute,” Hughes said.
The Digital Services Act is a sweeping set of regulations that requires tech and social media companies operating in Europe to clean up their platforms under threat of hefty fines.
The Appeals Center, based in Dublin, where many Silicon Valley tech companies have their European headquarters, will start hearing complaints from users before the end of the year. It’s initially dealing with Facebook, YouTube and TikTok users because it wanted to start with the biggest platforms, with plans to add others later. Unlike the Oversight Board, which can cherry pick the biggest and most important cases, the center will have to rule on every case it gets.
The Oversight Board both issues binding decisions on individual cases, such as ruling in September on three separate posts with the controversial Palestinian rallying cry “ from the river to the sea,” and also weighs in on wider policy issues with non-binding recommendations, such as guidance in July on updating Meta’s policies on non-consensual deepfakes after reviewing a case involving deepfake intimate images of two women.
The Appeals Center’s decisions, in contrast, will be limited to whether content such as a post, photo or video violates each platform’s rules.
Hughes said the center will hire staff from across the EU to handle what he said could be up to tens of thousands of cases each year. The staff will have expertise in specific regions, languages and policy areas.
Meta’s Oversight Board is providing 15 million euros ($16.5 million) in startup funding, said Hughes, who was previously the Oversight Board’s director. He added that the two bodies will operate separately but will “point in the same direction in terms of platform accountability and transparency, user rights” and applying a human rights framework to online speech.
The Appeals Center will fund its ongoing operations by charging tech companies 95 euros for every case it hears, as well as a 5 euro fee from users who raise disputes. This “nominal” fee is intended to stop people from “gaming or abusing” the system and will be refunded if a user wins, Hughes said.
The decisions are not binding, but users will still get their money back if the center rules in favor of their disputes, regardless of the action the platform does or does not take.
There’s a 90-day deadline for decisions, but in most cases they will be made much more quickly, he said.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has begun a tender process in sub-Saharan Africa and South Africa covering media rights for the 2026-32 period.
The Olympic governing body has set a deadline of November 5 for responses to this tender, Sportcal (GlobalData Sport) has been told.
The process is understood to cover the 2028 (Los Angeles, US) and 2032 (Brisbane, Australia) Summer Olympics, as well as the Winter Games in 2026 (Milan-Cortina) and 2030 (the French Alps).
Interested parties should contact mediasales@olympic.org.
For the most recent Olympics, the summer games earlier this year in the French capital of Paris, sub-Saharan African distribution rights were held by the Infront agency, while in South Africa the event was covered by both free-to-air SABC and pay-TV heavyweight SuperSport.
The Infront tie-up – unveiled in mid-2019 – had covered the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, as well as this year’s summer edition, and those rights extended across 44 countries.

The SuperSport and SABC deals, meanwhile, were unveiled in mid-2017.
In terms of a sub-Saharan African TV audience, the 2026 and 2030 Winter Olympics will likely see the largest audiences, due to a more favourable timezone than the US’ West Coast in four years, and then Australia in 2032.
Other markets in which rights for the next quartet of Olympic Games have not yet been allocated include New Zealand, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), India, the Caribbean, Brazil (although only on a non-exclusive basis for 2028), and in-flight/on-ship rights.
Indeed, Sportcal understands another tender for the upcoming cycle is set to launch within the next week.
In terms of major deals already tied up for the next Olympic cycle, meanwhile, last year saw Infront tie up distribution rights through 2032 in Central and Southeast Asia, Warner Bros Discovery and the European Broadcasting Union do so in the latter region, while Australia’s Nine Network also snapped up rights.

TR’s next scheduled game is Saturday at Greybull.

The Lady Panthers were supposed to play at home vs. Ten Sleep on Saturday, but that game was canceled, because TS does not have a team this season.
A-C’s next scheduled game is Friday at Upton.
State Tennis: At the State Tennis Meet this past weekend at Gillette, the Sheridan Broncs finished as state runners-up, while the Lady Broncs were 8th.
For the boys, Jaeger Conrad and Tanner Hamrick are state champs at #2 doubles, while Matt Brown and Drew Miller were state runners-up at #3 doubles.
On the girls side Avery Ligocki and Mallorie Akers finished 4th in #3 doubles.
This week Sheridan is scheduled to race Thursday at Sturgis, South Dakota, while BH and TR will run Saturday at Wright.

Sheridan returns home this coming Friday and Saturday vs. Great Falls.
The puck drops both nights at 7:30pm.
University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys finally broke into the win column, as they beat Air Force at home 31-19.
Quarterback Evan Svoboda was 15 of 21 passing for 165 yards.
He also ran 12 times for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Sam Scott and Tyler King also scored rushing TD’s for the brown and gold.
The one team stat that helped the Pokes was that they were 7 of 14 on 3rd down conversions.
This week is an off week on the schedule.
Wyoming will be back in action next week at home vs. San Diego State.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos made it 2 wins in a row on the road yesterday, as they beat the New York Jets 10-9.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 12 of 25 passing for just 60 yards, but he had 1 touchdown throw to Courtland Sutton.
Will Lutz kicked a 47 yard field goal with about 9 minutes to go and that made the difference.
The defense sacked Aaron Rodgers 5 times and held the Jets to 4 of 17 on third down conversions.
One note of injury was running back Tyler Badie who took a helmet hit to the back.
He left the field on his own power and was later carted off of the sidelines.
Denver returns home this coming Sunday to take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sam Hilliard went yard for Colorado in that game.
The Rockies finish the season with a record of 61-101, which is 2 games better than last year.
Major League Baseball Playoffs: The Major League Baseball playoffs start tomorrow, but there’s some unfinished regular season business taking place today.
The New York Mets and Atlanta have to make-up 2 games that were supposed to be played last week, but were postponed because of Hurricane Helene.
The reason the games have to be made up is because there are 3 teams battling for the 2 remaining National League wild card spots.
The Mets, the Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
As far as today’s double-header goes, if one team sweeps the other, that team is in the playoffs and would travel to San Diego, the loser is eliminated and the D’backs would get in and travel to Milwaukee.
If the Mets and Braves split the double-header, that would create a Mets-Braves and D’backs 3 way tie, and the Diamondbacks would lose, due to losing head-to-head tiebreakers vs. both of the other 2 teams.
As for the rest of the National League Playoffs, the Dodgers and Philadelphia have the top 2 seeds and a first round bye.
In the American League playoffs, the top 2 seeds belong to the New York Yankees and Cleveland.
The wild card round will have Detroit at Houston and Kansas City at Baltimore.
The wild card round is a best 2 out of 3 at the home site of the better seeded team.

All remaining Mountain West Conference teams have signed a binding agreement to stay with the conference for some time.
However the conference has to get a few new teams to join, because it is below the minimum number of 8 teams to be officially recognized as a conference by the NCAA.
Currently, when the football season starts in 2026, there will be 7 teams in the conference for football and 6 in every other sport, because Hawaii is a football only member and recently Hawaii announced that the team will stay in the conference for football at least through the 2032 season.
Several media sources are saying Texas State could be a target as an all sports selection.
Other reports say the Mountain West Conference has notified the Mid-American Conference of its interest in bringing in Northern Illinois and Toledo as football only members.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning yesterday afternoon, to win at home vs. St. Louis 10-8 and avoid a sweep.
Charlie Blackmon hit a 2-run home run earlier in the game.
This weekend is the final 3-games of the 2024 regular season and the Rocks will host the LA Dodgers, who lead Philadelphia by 1 game in the standings, for the #1 seed in the National League playoffs.
First pitch today and tomorrow is scheduled for 6:10pm and Sunday’s game is scheduled to start at 1:10pm.
Colorado’s record on this season is 61-98, meaning the team needs to win 2 out of 3 games this weekend, in order to avoid a 100-loss season.
NEW YORK — Prince Harry said today’s youth is in the midst of an “epidemic” of anxiety, depression and social isolation due to negative experiences online, as he brought his campaign to help children and their parents navigate cyberspace to this week’s Clinton Global Initiative.
“These platforms are designed to create addiction,” Harry said in remarks Tuesday in New York City. “Young people are kept there by mindless, endless, numbing scrolling — being force-fed content that no child should ever be exposed to. This is not free will.”
Beyond supporting parents and youth throughout this advocacy, The Duke of Sussex stressed the need for corporate accountability. He asked why leaders of powerful social media companies are still held to the “lowest ethical standards” — and called on shareholders to demand tangible change.
“Parenting doesn’t end with the birth of a child. Neither does founding a company,” Harry said. “We have a duty and a responsibility to see our creations through.”
Harry’s contribution to this year’s CGI annual meeting was part of the “What’s Working” theme, in a panel that included former President Bill Clinton, Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton and World Central Kitchen founder Jose Andres.
The Archewell Foundation, which Harry founded with his wife, Meghan Markle, to carry out their philanthropic work recently launched an initiative supporting parents whose children have suffered or died due to online harms. Harry highlighted the work of that initiative, called The Parents Network, in his speech Tuesday.
The foundation has also partnered with the World Health Organization and others to end violence against children, an issue he and Meghan outlined during a recent trip to Colombia. Harry on Tuesday pointed to the inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, which is set to take place in Bogotá this November. He said that this meeting could result in the first global agreement for prioritizing child safety and protection online.
His CGI address was part of a string of appearances for Harry in New York at the growing number of humanitarian and philanthropic events that run alongside the United Nations General Assembly Week.
On Monday, he appeared at an event for The HALO Trust, where he discussed how the work of the landmine clearing charity was influential on his late mother, Princess Diana. “The HALO Trust’s work in Angola meant a great deal to my mother,” he said. “Carrying on her legacy is a responsibility that I take seriously. And I think we all know how much she would want us to finish this particular job.”
