6 winners and 4 losers from Bengals’ Monday Night Football victory at Cowboys

The Cincinnati Bengals took on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football and with only a two percent chance to make the playoffs, we may be in full roster evaluation mode. With a few starters out, there was a chance for some players lower on the depth chart to put out some tape.

The Bengals left Dallas with a 27-20 victory.

Here are the winners and losers from tonight’s game.

    Winners

    Joe Burrow

Burrow was once again the best quarterback on the field, despite being under pressure for most of the game. Burrow found eight different receivers over the course of the game, often times keeping his eyes downfield with defenders swarming him. Burrow finished with 33 completions for 369 yards and three touchdowns. Burrow did throw an interception and lose a fumble on a play where he was tackled by his face mask, but all in all, Burrow’s MVP-like numbers showed up once again.

    Ja’Marr Chase

Chase is the best receiver in the NFL this season. Burrow looked Chase’s way early, finding him on a perfectly thrown back shoulder pass in the front corner of the end zone. Chase would continue to move around the formation, finding soft spots in Dallas’ zone schemes and winning his man-to-man matchups. Chase finished with 14 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

    Chase Brown

Brown continues to grow into a full-blown feature back in the Bengal’s offense. Running backs in this system are asked to run, catch, and pass protect, and Brown did all three well on Monday night. Brown had an especially good night catching the ball out of the backfield, including a 19 yard touchdown reception late in the second quarter. Brown finished with 14 carries for 58 yards on the ground, six receptions for 65 yards and the receiving touchdown. Brown has logged over 100 scrimmage yards in three straight games.

    Geno Stone

It has been a rough season for Stone, but he may have turned in his best performance as a Bengal on Monday night. In the first quarter, Stone hauled in his second interception on the season when a Cooper Rush pass bounced off the chest of Cam Taylor-Britt. Stone dove, snatched the ball before it hit the turf and took a red zone opportunity away from the Cowboys. Midway through the fourth quarter, Stone flew at rush on a blitz on a third down, forcing Rush to get rid of the ball and leading to a Dallas punt. Stone finished with five tackles (three solo), a pass defensed and the interception.

    Germaine Pratt

After last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pratt dismissed the idea that the Bengals were missing tackles. Monday night, Pratt fond himself in a one-on-one meeting with CeeDee Lamb in the Dallas backfield. Pratt missed the tackle, Lamb scampered back across the field and broke free for a 44 yard gain. After that, though, Pratt played a really solid game. Wearing the helmet communication in place of the injured Logan Wilson, Pratt finished with seven tackles (three solo), a pass defensed and a tackle for loss.

    Cade York

Fresh off the practice squad, York was back kicking in his hometown, with his Cowboy cheerleader girlfriend watching. York went perfect on the night, drilling all three extra points and connecting on both of his field goal attempts.

    Losers

    Alex Cappa

Cappa seemed to be getting pushed back all night. On the Bengals’ second offensive drive, Cappa allowed a pressure in the face of Burrow that led to Burrow getting mixed up in a pile of bodies and drawing an intentional grounding penalty. The penalty would be nullified by a 12 men on the field penalty by Dallas.

    Josh Newton

The rookie fifth-rounder had a tough night, primarily matching up against Brandin Cooks. Newton was flagged for illegal contact and defensive holding twice in the third quarter, with the holding coming on a play where Cooks still scored. Newton has been forced into a starting role with injuries to Dax Hill and DJ Turner II and has taken his share of lumps over the last couple of weeks.

    Bengals Draft Position

With the playoffs virtually out of reach, some fans have moved toward tanking for draft position. The Bengals entered the week slated at 10th on the draft board. You never want the team to lose unless you’re rooting to move up for an impact defensive player.

    Anyone Anti-Lou Anarumo

If you’re in favor of Lou Anarumo being let go in the offseason, this probably saved his job. So there’s that.

‘Homeless People in LA Looking More Fresh Than’ Jake Paul: Presenting Monday Night Football on ESPN Draws Scathing Response From Boxing World

The Denver Broncos secured a thrilling 41-32 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Monday, getting one step closer to their spot in the NFL playoffs. But before the game, Jake Paul stirred up buzz by announcing on social media that he would be presenting Monday Night Football on ESPN. Unsurprisingly, fans had plenty to say about Paul’s unexpected role.

Jake Paul is riding high after his unanimous decision victory over legendary boxer Mike Tyson last month in Texas, a bout that streamed live on Netflix. Since then, ‘The Problem Child’ has been dominating headlines, with a growing list of fighters challenging the Cleveland native to step into the ring. While speculation swirls about his next opponent, Paul’s recent involvement with Monday Night Football has sparked significant criticism from fans.

Cleveland Browns lose as Paul gets involved with MNF

Turning to Instagram, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions wrote, “Jake Paul presents Monday Night Football on ESPN…👀🏈,” while sharing a clip to promote the announcement. Meanwhile, on the field, the Denver Broncos pulled off a hard-fought win against the Cleveland Browns despite allowing an astonishing 497 passing yards from quarterback Jameis Winston.

The Broncos capitalized on game-changing plays, including pick-sixes by linebacker Nik Bonitto and nickel corner Ja’Quan McMillian. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix also delivered a standout moment with a jaw-dropping 93-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Mims Jr., securing Denver’s victory in a high-stakes matchup.

Regardless, fans wasted no time reacting to the Instagram post, flooding the comment section with a mix of excitement, skepticism, and criticism.

Fan hopes Jake Paul doesn’t start playing in the NFL

The announcement came as somewhat of a surprise, but the reactions from fans—not so much. One user outright insulted Paul. “You have homeless people in LA looking more fresh than this dude all that money and he cant take time to take care of himself,” the user wrote. Notably, Paul himself is a Cleveland native, but his support didn’t help his team secure the win.

The next user highlighted the obvious. “Cleveland lost too,” the user wrote. It’s worth noting that in 2022, Jake Paul signed a contract with Cleveland Browns, and joined the NFL franchise’s social media team.

Meanwhile, this user suggested people can hate him all they want, but the reality is he is doing big things. “Can hate em all u want he doin big things,” the user wrote. His fight and win over Mike Tyson is among those achievements.

    via Imago

Someone else gave a new nickname to ‘The Problem Child.’ “You mean Fake Paul,” the user wrote. Notably, there were allegations that the Tyson fight was staged, but there is no evidence to support these claims.

Another user put forth their concerns with Paul’s involvement with the NFL. “I hope he’s not planning to play football,” the user wrote. However, with the kind of fame Paul has gathered in boxing, it’s unlikely he would want to move to a different sport.

That said, it appears despite Jake Paul getting involved with MNF, fans didn’t quite like the update. However, the bigger question is, what did you think about it? Did you watch the game?

  • Cyber Monday shoppers expected to set a record on the year’s biggest day for online shopping

Consumers in the United States are scouring the internet for online deals as they look to take advantage of the post-Thanksgiving shopping marathon with Cyber Monday.

Even though e-commerce is now part and parcel of many people’s regular routines and the holiday shopping season, Cyber Monday — a term coined in 2005 by the National Retail Federation — has become the biggest online shopping day of the year, thanks to the deals and the hype the industry has created to fuel it.

Adobe Analytics, which tracks online shopping, expects consumers to spend a record $13.2 billion on Monday, 6.1% more than last year. That would make it the season’s — and the year’s — biggest — shopping day for e-commerce.

For several major retailers, a Cyber Monday sale is a days-long event that began over the Thanksgiving weekend. Amazon kicked off its sales event right after midnight Pacific time on Saturday. Target’s two days of discount offers on its website and app began overnight Sunday. Walmart rolled out its Cyber Monday offers for Walmart+ members on Sunday afternoon and opened it up to all customers three hours later, at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Consumer spending for Cyber Week — the five major shopping days between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday — provides a strong indication of how much shoppers are willing to spend for the holidays.

Many U.S. consumers continue to experience sticker shock following the period of post-pandemic inflation that left prices for many goods and services higher than they were three years ago. But retail sales nonetheless have remained strong, and the economy has kept growing at a healthy pace.

At the same time, credit card debt and delinquencies have been rising. More shoppers than ever are also on track to use “buy now, pay later” plans this holiday season, which allows them to delay payments on holiday decor, gifts and other items.

Many economist have also warned that President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to impose tariffs next year on foreign goods coming into the United States would lead to higher prices on everything from food to clothing to automobiles.

The National Retail Federation expects holiday shoppers to spend more this year both in stores and online than last year. But the pace of spending growth will slow slightly, the trade group said, growing 2.5% to 3.5% — compared to 3.9% in 2023.

A clear sense of consumer spending patterns during the holiday season won’t emerge until the government releases sales data for the period, though preliminary data from other sources shows some encouraging signs for retailers.

U.S. shoppers spent $10.8 billion online on Black Friday, a 10.2% increase over last year, according to Adobe Analytics. That’s also more than double what consumers spent in 2017, when Black Friday pulled in roughly $5 billion in online sales. Consumers also spent a record $6.1 billion online on Thanksgiving Day, Adobe said.

Software company Salesforce, which also tracks online shopping, estimated that Black Friday online sales totaled $17.5 billion in the U.S. and $74.4 billion globally.

E-commerce platform Shopify said its merchants raked in a record $5 billion in sales worldwide on Black Friday. At its peak, sales reached $4.6 million per minute — with top categories by volume including clothing, cosmetics and fitness products, according to the Canadian company.

Toys, electronics, home goods, self-care and beauty categories were among the key drivers of holiday spending on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, according to Adobe. “Hot products” included Lego sets, espresso machines, fitness trackers, makeup and skin care.

Other data showed physical stores saw fewer customers on Black Friday, underscoring how the huge crowds that were once synonymous with the day after Thanksgiving are now more than happy to shop from the comfort of their homes.

RetailNext, which measures real-time foot traffic in stores, reported that its early data showed store traffic on Friday was down 3.2% in the U.S. compared to last year, with the biggest dip happening in the Midwest.

Sensormatic Solutions, which also tracks store traffic, said its preliminary analysis showed retail store traffic on Black Friday was down 8.2% compared to 2023.

Grant Gustafson, head of retail consulting and analytics at Sensormatic Solutions, noted that in-store traffic was getting spread across multiple days since many retailers offered generous discounts before and after Black Friday,

“Some of the extended Black Friday promotions really ended up leading to a little bit of a softer day-of traffic than expected,” Gustafson said.

While physical items like toys and electronics are always popular around the holidays, experts note that consumers have turned to more “experience-driven spending” in recent years, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic waned.

Jie Zhang, a marketing professor at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, told The Associated Press ahead of the post-Thanksgiving shopping weekend that he expected shoppers to “indulge themselves a bit more” when it comes to self-gifting.

  • Why you shouldn’t trust lifestyle influencers when buying your tech this Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Why you shouldn’t trust lifestyle influencers when buying your tech this Black Friday and Cyber Monday

A while ago, I saw a video on TikTok from an influencer that absolutely sent my brain into a spiral.

SamDoll, who is the influencer, went on a rant about how she bought the Oura Ring Gen 3 and absolutely hated it. Her rant was infuriating and actually really upset me because not only was she speaking without much knowledge about the actual ring, but she also has the capability of influencing her nearly one million followers.

While she did make some accurate points in her video, I genuinely did not agree with what she was saying for the most part. It made me realize how important it is that I reiterate to you, our valued readers, how important it is to not get sucked into what regular, everyday influencers say about tech products.

More importantly, as you spend your hard-earned money on products this Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend, then you should be looking to read reviews from trusted sites like Android Central. If you are keen on listening to what influencers say, then you should follow tech influencers who take particular interest in providing the best information that is relevant to help you understand products.

On that note, the Oura Ring Gen 3 is the wearable that pretty much kicked off the smart ring craze, and its best style is currently up to $100 off depending on the color you want, making it a good alternative if you want a great smart ring without breaking the bank.

The week started with nine NFL teams sporting just 2-wins, and now the NFL standings show six including the Dolphins (five in AFC) after the Patriots, Panthers and Saints all won as underdogs to pick up their third win. Favorites are 8-5 straight up but just 3-10 against the spread (ATS) in Week 10 into the Dolphins-Rams MNF game.

Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Rams (-2.5), Over/Under 48.5 points

Kickoff is at 8:15pm ET on ABC and ESPN, and streamed online at ESPN+ and NFL plus.

    Division Leaders

    AFC

AFC division leaders include the Buffalo Bills (8-2), Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2), Houston Texans (6-4) and Kansas City Chiefs (9-0), who remain undefeated after escaping with another win. A blocked short field goal on the final play against the Denver Broncos Sunday sent Chiefs players and fans into a frenzy.

The Baltimore Ravens (7-3) are just 1/2 game behind the Steelers (7-2) in the AFC North in the tightest AFC division race. The Ravens lead the league in scoring, averaging 31.8 points per game following their thrilling 35-34 Thursday Night Football win over division foe Cincinnati Bengals to kick off Week 10 action.

    NFC

Philaelphia Eagles (7-2), Detroit Lions (8-1), Atlanta Falcons (6-4) and Arizona Cardinals (6-4) are current NFC division leaders. The Lions also escaped Sunday with a 26-23 win on a last second 52-yard field goal after trailing the Houston Texans 23-7 at halftime. Another controversial penalty (pass interference) was not called against the Lions on the Texans final drive that resulted in a long missed 58-yard field goal to set up a short field and the Lions final drive to victory.

Three tight divison races in the NFC show the Lions (8-1) one-game in front of the Minnesota Vikings (7-2) in the NFC North. The Cardinals (6-4) lead the NFC West by a half game over the San Francisco 49ers (5-4) and LA Rams (4-4) if they win Monday. The Washington Commanders (7-3) fell a half game behind the Eagles (7-2) in the NFC East following the Commanders 28-27 loss to the Steelers Sunday with another Week 10 player prop winner posted on Forbes.

The Week 11 matchups and odds are posted by sportsbooks. The Commanders and Eagles kickoff the action Thursday, Nov. 14 with a first place showdown in Philadelphia and the Eagles a 3-point favorite.

    Dolphins-Rams Matchups And Props

Bob Stoll of Dr. Bob Sports provides additional matchups and advance stats for the Dolphins-Rams matchup with information you can bet on. The updated injury report and media updates show Dolphins star WR Tyreek Hill (wrist) as a game-time decision to play.

    • Miami’s offense was a trainwreck without Tua Tagovailoa but they’ve only been 14th in EPA per play with the starting quarterback on the field which is well below last season when they averaged 0.10 EPA/play (4th).
    • The Dolphins haven’t been able to get WR Tyreek Hill going as he’s averaging nearly 2 yards per route run less than last year. WR Jaylen Waddle is averaging 0.59 EPA/target (7th) but this might not be the game for Miami’s offense to feature the wide receivers.
    • The Rams are surrendering a league-high 67% success rate to opposing tight ends and will struggle with TE Jonnu Smith, who has a 66% success rate (2nd).
    • Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is averaging 0.17 EPA/target (2nd) and the screen game will be clicking against a Rams defense, who are worst in the NFL allowing a 66% receiving success rate to opposing running backs.
    • Los Angeles edge rusher Jared Verse’s 39 pressures are the most for a rookie through the first nine weeks of the season in five years, but he will be shut down by LT Terron Armstead, who ranks 3rd in pass blocking efficiency.
    • Miami’s defense has a league-high 42% pressure rate, and the Rams will be without starting RT Rob Havenstein, who ranks 20th in pass-blocking efficiency. Backup Warren McClendon is surrendering an 11% pressure rate. Rams QB Matthew Stafford has thrown 78 passes over the past two games without a sack.
    • Los Angeles leads the NFL with a 78% motion rate but the Dolphins’ yards per pass play allowed against motion is a league-low 83% compared to no motion from the opposing offense.
    • Miami CB Jalen Ramsey conceding 0.73 yards per cover snap (7th) and he will contain WR Cooper Kupp, who is averaging 2.19 yards per route run (11th). WR Puka Nacua will be limited by Dolphins’ cornerback Kendall Fuller, who is allowing just 0.66 yards per cover snap (4th).
    • Our model favors the Rams by 2.4 points with a predicted total of 53.4.

The Dolphins have lost three straight games since their bye week, despite winning the stats by a net margin of 30 yards per contest. That includes the last two games with QB Tua Tagovailoa returning from a Week 2 concussion and the Dolphins losing 30-27 and 28-27 to the first place Bills and Cardinals. The Rams have won 3-in-a-row including 30-20 over the Vikings and last week in Seattle, a 26-20 overtime win to keep the Rams challenging for an NFC West title.

    Player Props and Picks

    • MIA QB Tua Tagovailoa passing yards: Over/Under 244.5
    • LA QB Matthew Stafford passing yards: O/U 250.5
    • MIA RB De’Von Achane rushing yards: O/U 56.5, receiving 42.5
    • MIA RB Raheem Mostert rushing yards: O/U 32.5, receiving 7.5
    • LA RB Kyren williams rushing yards: O/U 84.5
    • MIA TE Jonnu Smith receiving yards: O/U 34.5, receptions 3.5
    • LA WR Puka Nacua receiving yards: O/U 67.5, receptions 5.5
    • LA WR Cooper Kupp receiving yards: O/U 66.5, receptions 5.5
    • LA WR Demarcus Robinson receiving yards: O/U 27.5, receptn 2.5

The player prop picks posted on these NFL betting preview pages at Forbes have been scoring and cashing in Week 4, Week 5, Week 6, Week 7, Week 8, Week 9 and Week 10.

Prop Bets: Dolphins RB De’Von Archane’s receiving yards prop has been bet up from O/U 39.5 to 42.5 on FanDuel and even 46.5 on DraftKings sportsbook. That shows the discrepancy in numbers and the importance of shopping numbers and sportsbooks when wagering. Can’t advise betting into that rising number, althouth many receiving yards props posted here have sailed over the players prop numbers. Instead, Achane Over 5.5 receptions (+100) is a bet. Achane leads Dolphins in receptions (37) this season, and he had 8 and 6 receptions the past two games with Tua Tagovailoa back at quarterback. Now the matchups look even more favorable against the Rams as noted above and especially if Tyreek Hill does not play.

If you’re betting on Rams receivers props of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, Kupp has more favorable matchups as the slot receiver with the Dolphins defense allowing the eighth-highest percentage of targets go to the slot receiver. Puka Nacua under 5.5 receptions is a preferred play, but another bet of more interest is Rams TE Colby Parkinson under 18.5 receiving yards. He had zero targets or receptions last week against the Seahawks as his usage and plays on the field have declined the past two games after also catching just two passes for 17 yards against the Vikings and two receptions against the Raiders three games ago. The two receptions by Rams tight ends last game against the Seahawks went to backups. Too many other preferred options for QB Matthew Stafford, and Parkinson’s O/U receptions is just 1.5.

Following the Miami-LA Monday Night Football game, the Dolphins return home to tackle the Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) while the Rams hit the road to Foxboro and play the New England Patriots (3-7).

More sports betting news, stats, MNF player props and information you can bet on as the NFL draws more watch and wager action with player props driving additional engagement, entertainment and interest.

  • Monday Night Football Week 9: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers – how to watch, game time, TV channel, streaming

Monday Night Football Week 9: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers – how to watch, game time, TV channel, streaming

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to cap Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season.

The Buccaneers (4-4) have found themselves an answer at quarterback in former first overall pick Baker Mayfield. Mayfield came into Week 9 leading the NFL in touchdowns with 23 through the first 8 weeks of the season. However, things went gone very wrong for Tampa Bay back in Week 7 when both Chris Godwin and Mike Evans suffered significant injuries. Godwin suffered a dislocated ankle and was placed on Injured Reserve after getting surgery to repair the ankle. Evans, meanwhile suffered a hamstring injury and isn’t expected back until Week 12.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, are the NFL’s lone undefeated team at 7-0 and appear on track to compete for the Super Bowl once again. But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the back-to-back champs, not at all. Kansas City has been scrambling to fill out their skill positions on a weekly basis as both the wide receiver and running back positions have been hit hard by injury. Having Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid can cover up a lot of warts, but they are far from the offensive powerhouse we would expect them to be.

And yet, the Chiefs are 9.5-point favorites at home per FanDuel Sportsbook. Can they take care of business and advance to 8-0 on the season?

    Chris’ Picks

I have to go with the Chiefs here. Kansas City is not a dominant team, but the duo of Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid simply find ways to win — helped out by Steve Spagnuolo doing his thing on defense.

Baker Mayfield is playing excellent football and is on the fringe of being a Top 10 quarterback. However, the Buccaneers as a whole simply have too much working against them right now. Their offense is down Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and is also trying to overcome a defense that’s aged out of its prime.

The presence of Mahomes and Reid shrink any opponent’s margin of error to nearly nil, and any opening gives them a chance to win. I think this game winds up being closer than the 9.5-point spread, but the Chiefs stay undefeated.

Monday Night Football, Week 7: Ravens at Buccaneers, Chargers at Cardinals – how to watch, game time, TV channel, streaming

The NFL schedule makers have given us a double-header for Sunday Night Football in Week 7.

First, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Baltimore Ravens in Tampa Bay. The Ravens are looking to keep pace with the rival Pittsburgh Steelers at the top of the AFC North, while the Buccaneers are trying to stave off the Atlanta Falcons at the top of the NFC South. This is also a meeting between familiar foes in Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson.

The second game of the night will be a west coast matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are in the hunt for one of the AFC’s wildcard spots, while the Cardinals are trying to keep pace with a beleaguered San Francisco 49ers squad for second place in the NFC West.

This game will be exclusively on ESPN+, and only broadcast in local markets.

    Chris’ Picks

Ravens at Buccaneers: I’m picking the Ravens for this game, but that shouldn’t be a slight to the Buccaneers and I think that this could wind up being an excellent game.

Baker Mayfield’s career was largely left for dead when he left the Factory Of Sadness (the Browns), but thanks to a competent environment in Tampa, he’s become the QB we thought he could be coming out of Oklahoma back in 2018.

However, the Ravens have been a model franchise for well over a decade now. They have a consistently good (to dominant) defense and a unique offense around a unique talent in Lamar Jackson. Tampa could well come out on top, but you never know when Lamar is going to do something indefensible that only Lamar can do.

The Ravens are 3.5-point favorites per FanDuel sports book.

Chargers at Cardinals: I have to pick the Chargers for this game. Neither team has been particularly inspiring on offense, but the Chargers are less likely to hurt themselves than the Cardinals.

I do think the Cardinals have a good chance at the upset. Their four losses have come against the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, and Green Bay Packers — opponents that are a combined 20-7 on the season. It’s entirely likely that the Cardinals are better than their record says they are.

However, I think the Chargers are better coached and have more talent on both sides of the ball.

The Chargers are 1.5-point favorites per FanDuel sports book

  • Winners, losers as Bills beat Jets 23-20 on Monday Night Football – NBC 7 San Diego

Winners, losers as Bills beat Jets 23-20 on Monday Night Football – NBC 7 San Diego

The Buffalo Bills are in control of the AFC East.

Following a two-game losing skid where their flaws were exposed, Buffalo found a way to beat the New York Jets on the road 23-20 on Monday Night Football.

Buffalo didn’t play a perfect game, but Josh Allen did his thing and the team capitalized on New York’s self-inflicted wounds.

The result put Buffalo atop the division at 4-2, while the Jets fell to 2-4 in their first game in the post-Robert Saleh era.

Let’s analyze the game further with winners and loser:

    WINNER: Josh Allen, Bills

It wasn’t a dominant Josh Allen game on the eyes, but he posted robust numbers on the stat sheet to deliver Buffalo the win.

Allen threw for 215 yards, two touchdowns and no picks while rushing for 18 yards on nine attempts and a score. The receiving woes will continue for the team unless improved personnel comes through the door, though running back Ray Davis played a pivotal role with James Cook missing his first ever NFL game due to a toe injury.

    LOSER: Greg Zuerlein, Jets

As aforementioned, the Jets kept kicking themselves down when they had the chance to take control of the game.

Two such opportunities came down to their veteran kicker, Greg Zuerlein. Zuerlein, who used to carry the “Legatron” nickname, entered the game making 6 of 8 field goals.

But he went just 2 of 4 on the night, with one of the misses clanking off the post. Both misses came in back-to-back possessions during the second half, the first being from 32 yards out and the second 43. Making both could’ve given the Jets the narrow edge to pull out a result.

    WINNER: Robert Saleh, Jets

How the Jets fare long term is one question, but short term, Saleh is a winner on the night. Not much drastic changed for the Jets, though it’s just one game.

The defense looked about the same, though the offense had more sharpness and life to it. But it didn’t end up in a win despite the 393 total yards, more than Buffalo’s 359.

Breece Hall rushed for 113 yards and received 56, with Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson both surpassing 100 receiving yards apiece — strong numbers, but the Jets failed to escape old ghosts.

Here’s what you need to know about New York Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich

LOSER: Flags, flags and more flags

The action was also heavily disrupted by the number of flags on the night. Both teams combined for 22 penalties, with New York and Buffalo committing 11 infractions each.

The 22 accepted penalties is the most in a game so far this season.

New York’s penalties cost it 110 yards while Buffalo’s was at 94, good for a total of 204 yards.

    WINNER: Ray Davis, Bills

Talk about making a rookie impact. With the aforementioned Cook absence, the Bills turned to backup Davis to help on the ground.

The 2024 fourth-round pick out of Kentucky delivered a substantial impact, rushing for 97 yards on 20 carries (4.9 average, long of 15) to go with three catches on three targets for 55 yards, with a long of 42.

The 5-foot-8 California native showed off his burst, but also demonstrated promising power once he collected momentum. Buffalo can feel more at ease with Cook’s injury knowing Davis can step up in high-pressure environments.

Catch up on the latest stats and scores from Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season.
