Seven’s Mitch Cleary reports the relationship between Grant and Beveridge in the past 12 months was ‘tense’ and ‘rocky’.

After playing 341 games for the Dogs across 18 seasons, Grant was appointed to a full-time executive position ahead of the 2016 season.

“I’ve spent over half of my life with the Club as a player and administrator and will cherish the many memories we have created together at the Western Bulldogs,” Grant said in a club statement on Friday.

“While the decision to pause and map out the next stage of my professional career has not been an easy one, I leave knowing the Club is in a great position to succeed and write the next chapter in the amazing history of the red, white and blue.

“I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the players, coaches, and football department staff across all our programs for the trust they have shown in me to manage the football department over the past nine years, forging lifelong friendships and creating some amazing memories together along the way.

“I am looking forward to spending some quality time with Mel, Isabella, Sascha and Ollie over the coming months as we embark on the next stage of our family life together.”

Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains commended Grant for his contribution to the football club.

“Chris has been an outstanding Bulldogs person for more than three decades, characterised by great integrity, care and compassion for the Club and our people,” Bains said.

“Without exception, Chris has always put the Club first, building a legacy that includes overseeing two premierships and countless accolades during his time as a champion player and progressive leader at the Bulldogs.

“Chris remains one of the best players to ever don the red, white and blue jumper. As an administrator, his ever-calming influence and ability to lead people has guided this Club through both successful and challenging times.

“On behalf of our Club and the entire Bulldogs community, we’re extremely grateful to Chris for everything he has done for us and we wish him well for the next chapter of his journey.”

  • This Deteriorating Relationship Involving NBA Players Blamed for Jayson Tatum’s Deafening Olympics

This Deteriorating Relationship Involving NBA Players Blamed for Jayson Tatum’s Deafening Olympics

There is a difference between today’s media and what it used to be two decades ago. You could say there are more speculations and rumors around things than before. Especially with athletes like LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, and others, situations can get trickier. More importantly, there seems to be a mild distance between the media and the players for the same reason. This feels like a saddening reality for someone like the Detroit Pistons legend Grant Hill. But as the saying goes, “It is what it is.”

Speaking on The Ringer NBA Show, Hill, dissected the present-day media scenario that played a major role in Jayson Tatum’s disheartening Olympics stint. Steve Kerr benched JT, but the situation created more noise than clarity. From talks about the Boston Celtics’ star’s “villains original” arc to talks about veterans getting the upper hand. There has been a lot of wordplay and maybe reality took a back seat.

Expressing his disappointment on Kawhi Leonard missing the Olympics glory earlier year, Grant Hill, shared his thoughts. And dare we say it, the NBA legend didn’t hold back. “I say that the theory that was presented was false. I guess it’s not true. But that probably should have been one-on-one in a conversation with him,” Hill commented. “The Tatum thing was just unfortunate and you know, I think what I got a taste of was the noise. I got a taste of how it impacts everything and how it’s hard to shut off.”

Back in the day, Grant Hill shared that the editorial process vetted stories that were “baked in some truth for the most part,” despite the noises. And the players often hit a jab at the columnists for false narratives. But now, the noise of something that goes viral may not be true. “And I think you know how it applies to the Tatum thing,” Hill opined. “I just think there’s so much noise out there that these guys are so guarded now and are so careful and they don’t have maybe. The same rapport with the media that we had 20 years ago because there’s just a lack of trust. And so the noise was deafening around that.”

The Olympics episode changed Jayson Tatum‘s gameplay. People debated whether he was ready for the event. If he was, why did they bench him? If not, why did they choose him? Moreover, the online chaos affected the relationship between Tatum and Steve Kerr, and it still affects them. Now, if Tatum walks past Kerr, we think, “He’s ignoring him,” thanks to the Olympics storyline.

DeMarcus Cousins explained how Jayson Tatum became the victim of Team USA’s old rituals

There was a lot of chaos after Coach Kerr benched Jayson Tatum. Fans repeated two reasons for feeling that the 26-year-old forward was being let down by his teammates. First, JT had just won the 2024 NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics. Second, Tatum proved himself in the league thus he deserved a fair chance to prove himself for the US. But, a former player of the 2016 Olympics winning team DeMarcus Cousins recently explained the possible reason behind JT’s benching.

” I’ve been a part of Team USA. I know how that thing works. You have to kind of wait your turn when veteran guys who have been part of the program for years get their chance first. It’s no disrespect to the guys coming up underneath—that’s just how Team USA works. Jayson just happened to be a victim of that moment,” Cousins revealed.

In the 2012 London Olympics, veteran players took priority. Despite being the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Anthony Davis was last on the bench. The roster featured stars like Bryant, LeBron, Durant, Anthony, and Chris Paul. Davis, though highly regarded, had to wait for his turn. This shows how experience often trumps potential.

The media today shapes narratives in ways that often drown out the truth. Players like Jayson Tatum feel the weight of speculation, and the trust between them and the media is fading. Grant Hill‘s reflections highlight how things have changed, with players now more guarded. The noise around Tatum’s Olympics benching proves how viral stories can skew perceptions. In the end, it’s not always about skill; sometimes, it’s about waiting your turn in a game where experience matters more than potential.

Meet Angel Yin’s Caddie, Michelle Simpson: Lifestyle, Relationship With Golfer & Other Details Explored

26-year-old Angel Yin has been in the form of her life in 2024. Of the 12 cuts she has made this season, she has finished in the top 10 6 times. Her best finish came at the Portland Classic back in August where she finished T2 with a score of -20.

Yin has given a lot of credit to her caddie for her improved performance. Fans have enjoyed watching the American pro and her caddie dominate the table at the CME Group Tour Championship 2024. So let’s learn more about the veteran carrying Angel Yin’s golf bag at the Tiburon Golf Club.

Angel Yin’s friend and veteran caddie, Michelle Simpson has been an expert on the course for a very long time. She grew up in New Smyrna Beach, FL where she picked up golf. Before her caddying career, Simpson was a pro golfer herself. She started playing golf at the age of 15 and since has pursued her dream of a career in the sport.

Simpson was a part of the Epson Tour from 2002 to 2007 before giving up her clubs. But she couldn’t stay away from the course as she started carrying around the clubs of other golfers soon after. She has been a caddie for many great golfers like 2x major winner Brittany Lincicome. Michelle Simpson caddied for Lincicome in the last event of her career, the Annika 2024. With Lincicome’s retirement, Simpson joined Angel Yin for the CME Group Tour Championship.

Simpson’s PLTCA caddie profile has some information about her approach to the profession. When she was asked about her favorite golf course, Simpson replied, “I’m more interested in individual holes at a golf course; hence, I find one or two holes from each event, and imagine making 18 holes out of them!” It would be interesting to know what her imaginary golf course would look like.

She was also asked why she loves caddying. Being a former golfer herself, Simpson replied, Being able to relate to the challenges players face. Also, I feel like having been at the same level helps me give advice that can be really beneficial.” Having such guidance on the course would certainly be helpful for any golfer. She was also questioned about her favorite moment on the course to which she replied with her own version of the dialogue from the ‘Hangover’ movie, “What happens on the course, stays on the course.”

Simpson sure seems like an interesting character to have around during an event. So how did Angel Yin decide to pair up with her and take on the Gold Course in Florida? Let’s find out.

Speaking about the challenges Yin might face at the venue of the CME Group Tour Championship 2024, Yin had previously said, “I’ve always had a really tough time reading greens here, even though I’ve been living in Florida since 2018.” Conveniently, Michelle Simpson pitched the idea of caddying for Yin. Knowing that her commitments to Lincicome would end at the Annika 2024, Simpson dropped a message to Angel Yin. She said how much she loved the greens at the Tiburon Golf Club, suggesting that having Simpson around for the tournament would be beneficial for Yin.

The two have seemed to form a formidable pair as they have been dominating on the course so far. Only time will tell how much they can achieve in the future. What do you think of the Angel Yin – Michelle Simpson duo? Share your views in the comments section.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who is one of the children of singer John Mellencamp, first met Arroyave in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009.

“I was tricked a little bit because when I first saw Edwin, he had a beanie cap on,” Teddi recalled to Yahoo! Lifestyle in 2019. “And then when I saw him the next morning, the beanie was off and there was a ponytail hanging out the back. I thought after that night that that was just one of those [stories] that you tell your girlfriends, ‘Maybe I’ll hang out with him one more time.’”

  • Who Is Atthaya ‘Jeeno’ Thitikul’s Caddie? His Lifestyle, Relationship With LPGA Star & Other Details Revealed

Who Is Atthaya ‘Jeeno’ Thitikul’s Caddie? His Lifestyle, Relationship With LPGA Star & Other Details Revealed

Young and talented! Two terms that can aptly describe the 21-year-old Atthaya ‘Jeeno’ Thitikul. Any objections? Didn’t think so, since her stats and figures speak for themselves if you consider them. But… were they just the result of her hard work, or was someone else behind her, pushing the golfer to success? Cue the entry of her most trusted caddie!

Over the four years that she played professionally, she has raked in a total of 15 victories, 3 of which came on the LPGA Tour. And by her side was none other than Banpot Bunpisansaree, who advised her on the greens. That’s not all; he was also there to keep her company during many events, especially when her parents and other close family were absent. Truly a trustworthy companion to have!

It was back in 2022 when Thitikul became the second-youngest golfer to conquer the world No. 1 position. Beside the then-19-year-old was her looper, who grew up in Chonburi, Thailand. Considering the age of the teenager and the feat she was able to achieve, it doesn’t take much to realize how much of an effect the experienced bagman had in helping her reach the top.

For a little bit of context: Bunpisansaree had been carrying the bags on the Asian Tour before joining hands with the LPGA Tour pro. Initially, he wasn’t a big fan of golf, but everything changed when a friend asked him to go watch him play. Suffice it to say, he was hooked on the game! And now, the most enjoyable part of his job is tackling each challenge that various courses dish out, with the Evian Resort being his favorite.

“I meant a lot to me, but I think it meant a lot more to him,” divulged the golfer during the 2022 Japan Toto Classic. The athlete’s looper had, back then, received a green caddie bib ahead of the event owing to his golfer reaching the top spot on the Rolex Rankings.  “I think,” added Thitikul, “He dreams of wearing the green bib since day one of caddying for me.” If you don’t know what that bib means, it basically recognizes the caddie of the best player in the world. Understandably, a huge moment for him.

Thitikul and her caddie’s road to the top

Her first win that season and her LPGA Tour career came at the JTBC Classic, where she scored 16-under 272 to tie with the Danish athlete Nanna Koerstz Madsen, only to beat her in a playoff. Fast forward six months into September, and Atthaya ‘Jeeno’ Thitikul clinched another victory at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Again, her 17-under 196 tied her with Danielle Kang, leading her to beat the golfer at a playoff.

That’s not all. Would a golfer be able to achieve the top spot in the same season when Lydia Ko had raked in three victories? A ‘No’ would be the answer. Then how did she actually do it? Well, the then-19-year-old Thai professional, with the help of her caddie, racked up as many as 16 top-10 finishes that season. Such a feat, that too at 19 years old, wouldn’t have been possible without Bunpisansaree. It’s no wonder the two have immense trust in each other!

    The ‘Thitikul and Bunpisansaree’ connection

The two are known to have a great connection on and off the greens. This was evident in a video that the LPGA Tour shared on their Instagram handle about the caddie-golfer duo as part of the ‘Who is Your Caddie’ series. “What is your favorite food?” asked the interviewer to which Bunpisansaree wrote ‘In and Out burger’ on his card while Thitikul said the same.

A moving moment? Wouldn’t blame you. However, that was just the start of the interview, following which the duo were met with many queries. One of them, interestingly, included a question about the total number of birdies she carded that year. Neither she nor her caddie knew the answer. “That’s good,” replied the golfer hilariously, “Because I’m not going to fire him.”

It’s not surprising that they know so much about each other. Ruoning Yin, after her victory at the DOW Championship with Thitikul, had pointed out how the Thai golfer just has her manager and caddie with her during the various tournaments. “I’m lucky to have my parents with me,” said the LPGA Tour Pro while alluding to how lonely it gets for the 21-year-old at times, “But Jeeno also has a manager, caddie travel with her, but it’s kind of different.”

It takes a true friend and confidant to support you through such a hard time, and Banpot Bunpisansaree seems to have nailed that role almost perfectly. Now, all they need is for Atthaya Thitikul and her caddie to climb even higher in their careers.

  • Long-serving Rutgers athletic director under investigation for alleged ‘inappropriate relationship’ – after resigning due to ‘health concerns’

Long-serving Rutgers athletic director under investigation for alleged ‘inappropriate relationship’ – after resigning due to ‘health concerns’

Rutgers University has launched an investigation on former athletic director Pat Hobbs for a possible ‘inappropriate, consensual relationship,’ according to a report from NJ Advance Media.

Hobbs resigned on August 16, citing health concerns, after holding the position for nine years.

NJ Advance reported that the ‘investigation is believed to have spurred his abrupt resignation.’ The school has yet to address the allegation.

Earlier this week, NJ Advance Media also reported the Rutgers’ gymnastics program was in disarray before Hobbs’ departure, with head coach Umme Salim-Beasley at the center of complaints from the athletes.

Several gymnasts alleged that Salim-Beasley fostered a ‘toxic’ environment, among many complaints. When they went to Hobbs for help, they were reportedly ignored by the AD.

The outlet reported that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy spoke publicly about the ‘internal investigation’ on Friday.

‘I know there is an investigation underway, so I don’t want to preempt that,’ Murphy said. ‘I have no insights into that. But that was really ugly and very disturbing. I’ve reached out to Rutgers at the highest levels.

‘I know they have an internal investigation going, but that was a pretty disgusting set of facts in the paper. We shall see.’

The University sang its praise for Hobbs after stepping down from the position.

‘I want to thank Pat for his remarkable nine-year tenure at Rutgers, during which we have seen our men’s and women’s teams become leaders and successfully compete in the Big Ten, both on and off the field,’ school president Jonathan Holloway said in an email to university leaders.

Hobbs was credited for ‘enhancing the student-athlete experience’ and emphasizing ‘elevated communication, improved resource allocation, and enriched customer service,’ during his tenure.

According to his contract, Hobbs was on deck to make at least $635,000 in base salary this school year with his pay adjusted to the median of other Big Ten athletics directors.

His biggest move in charge of the Scarlet Knights was bringing Greg Schiano back as the football coach in 2019.

After Hobbs’ abrupt departure, Ryan Pisarri has stepped in for him on an interim basis. According to the Rutgers Athletics website, Pisarri was the Deputy Athletic Director for Competitive Excellence and Chief of Staff and is in his 14th year with the program.

Hobbs is married and shares three children with his wife Patrice. He served as the dean at Seaton Hall from 1999 to 2015 before moving to Rutgers.
