    The undefeated Hoosiers (10-0), who won 3-games last season, are the story of college football this season under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti. Indiana enters this showdown off a bye and a double-digit underdog to Ohio State (9-1). The spread has been bet down from -12 to -10.5 favoring the Buckeyes. Indiana is No. 1 in the country in scoring margin, but they’ve played a softer schedule. Still, the Hoosiers have been rewarding bettors with an 8-2 against the spread (ATS) mark, which is tied with five other teams for best in the country.

    Pro Football Focus provides matchup analysis of Indiana vs. Ohio State, and additional analysis in YouTube previewing the biggest games in college football on Saturday, Nov. 23. While Ohio State has a dominant defense allowing just 251 yards per game at 4.1 yards per play (both No. 2 in country), Indiana is right behind the Buckeyes allowing 270 ypg at 4.2 yppl. Pro Football Focus notes that Indiana marries the coverage with pass rush perhaps the best in the country. Indiana also has PFF’s best offensive grade in the country from Power Four teams, best receiving grade, top-10 pass blocking grade and QB Kurtis Rourke has the best passing grade. Ohio State has the No. 1 defense in college football, per PFF, and top-7 defensive pass coverage grade.

    Army vs. Notre Dame

    Army (9-0) is shooting for its first undefeated season since 1946. Playbook Sports midweek report provides added support for the Cadet’s No. 1 ranked rushing offense, averaging 330 yards per game vs. FBS opponents. The Black Knights allow just 10.8 points per game and 273 yards per game. Notre Dame (9-1) also has a dominant defense allowing 11.3 points per game and 277 yards per game. Army is one of only three FBS teams to win the stats in every game they’ve played this season.

    BYU at Arizona State

    BYU (9-1) suffered their first loss of the season last week vs. Kansas, 17-13. But the Cougars are 6-1 in Big 12 play and still control their destiny to the Big 12 championship game, along with Colorado (6-1). Arizona State (8-2) is 5-2 in conference play and on a 3-0 SU/ATS run ahead of this game in Tempe and next week’s rivalry game vs. Arizona in Tucson. The Sun Devils are also 5-0 SU/ATS at home, but statistically don’t warrant their high stock and 8-2 ATS mark overall with a +0.7 net yards per play margin to BYU’s +1.2.

    Top 5 Must-Watch College Football Games of Week 4 Schedule

    College football is in full swing and with conference play starting, each game matters just a little bit more. Each week, we have seen some great performances and some upsets that many didn’t see coming.

    It’s what has made college football such a fun sport over the years and has kept it going strong. As we enter into Week 4, we have some crucial matchups coming down the pipeline.

    But which ones are the most “must-watch”? Luckily for you, here at Newsweek Sports, we got you covered.

    Here are the five biggest “must-watch” games on the docket for this weekend.

    5. University of Louisiana-Monroe @ No. 1 Texas

    While this game may not be the most exciting, Arch Manning is scheduled to make his first start for the Longhorns. That alone makes this game a must-watch on the schedule to see how he can perform.

    Texas is heavily favored in this matchup and Manning has looked the part when playing. But until he starts out a game with all the pressure on him, we won’t know how it will look. The Longhorns should win this matchup, especially with them knowing that SEC play starts the following week.

    4. Cal @ Florida State

    The curious case of when Florida State will win a game has started as the Seminoles enter this game with a record of 0-3. Nobody expected them to be this bad but alas, here we are.

    They host the Golden Bears this weekend, who have surprised people by going 3-0 to start the year. If Florida State is to grab its first victory, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei will have to be much better. This game could be one of the Seminoles’ last chances to get a win before the tougher games on their schedule kick in.

    3. No. 6 Tennesee @ No. 15 Oklahoma

    This will mark the first SEC game for the Sooners as they get a tough test in the Volunteers. Oklahoma will try to make a statement with Tennesee coming to Norman but their work could be cut out for them.

    The Volunteers have looked like one of the best teams across the entire country this season, averaging 62.7 points per contest. Quarterback Jackson Arnold will need to have himself a day to keep up with the Tennesee offense, otherwise, things may get away from Oklahoma fairly quickly in this game.

    2. No. 12 Utah @ No. 14 Oklahoma State

    This could end up being one of the better games this season, with both teams looking to make some noise in the Big 12. Utah gets a chance to go on the road to Stillwater and shut down the Cowboys early on in the year.

    Oklahoma State loves to run the football and it could make life tough on the Utes. But both teams can score the football, scoring over 40 points per game on average. This could end up being a shootout which likely favors the Cowboys in the end.

    This game takes home the crown for the weekend schedule, giving fans a massive Big Ten showdown. The Trojans come in looking to stake their claim in the Big Ten as this will be their introduction to the new conference.

    While Michigan hasn’t looked the same so far this year, playing at The Big House is never easy. The Wolverines made a change at the quarterback position for this contest, potentially giving them more firepower. Both sides will be looking to make a statement in what could be a defining moment for the conference this season.

    Texas Takes Over Top Spot In AP Top 25 College Football Odds And 2024 Week 4 Schedule

    The Georgia Bulldogs held on for a 13-12 win at Kentucky last Saturday, but it wasn’t enought to keep Georgia at the top of the college football AP Top 25 poll. The Texas Longhorns are the new No. 1 into Week 4 of the 2024 college football season.

    The top-10 is completed by Ohio State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Missouri, Miami, Oregon and Penn State giving the SEC six teams in the top-10 and Big Ten three teams. No. 11 USC had a bye last week and begins Big Ten play at defending national champion Michigan, who makes a quarterback change ahead of the Sept. 21 Big Ten opener at the Big House in Ann Arbor.

    Miami in the ACC is the other top-10 team, and for the first time since 1955, both Florida and Florida State have losing records through three games.

    Alabama’s 42-10 road win last Saturday in Madison over Wisconsin earned Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe AP national player of the week. Milroe passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more in victory.

    But Texas’ 56-7 route of UT San Antonio earned backup QB Arch Manning runner-up honors for national player of the week. Manning took over for an injured Quinn Ewers early in the second quarter and completed 9 of 12 passes for 223 yards and 4 touchdowns and added a 67-yard TD run in the victory.

    Another story is developing out of Las Vegas. The UNLV Rebels (3-0) beat their second Big 12 team this season with a 23-20 upset of Kansas as 7-point road underdogs Friday in a rematch of last season’s Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The UNLV Rebels are moving up inside the top-30 of the AP Poll getting votes, but cracked the Top 25 Coaches Poll this week at No. 25 for their first Top 25 ranking in program history.

    UNLV has an 18.2% chance of making the 12-team College Football Playoff field, according to ESPN’s playoff projections. That places UNLV fourth among Group of 5 teams, behind Central Florida (UCF, 36.7%), Memphis (23.1%) and fellow Mountain West team Boise State (23.5%), who announced last week their intentions to leave the Mountain West by 2026 and join the revived Pac 12 conference.

    Circa Sports in Las Vegas opens the weekly college football lines on Sunday morning, and here are the notable line moves with updates on FanDuel.

That includes next week in Tuscaloosa when SEC heavyweights Georgia and Alabama battle in a rematch of last year’s SEC Championship game won by the Crimson Tide 27-24 to knock undefeated Georgia out of the 4-team College Football Playoff. The advance betting line on next week’s game is Georgia -2.5 with a game total of 51 points, according to odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. Both teams have a bye this week ahead of the huge Southeastern Conference showdown.

    Also making headlines in the political news is that former President Donald Trump will attend the Georgia-Alabama game, but not cast a vote on the winner.

  • Does Penn State play today? Nittany Lions’ Week 3 college football schedule

    If nothing else, Penn State’s 2024 football season hasn’t been predictable.

    The Nittany Lions entered the year with lofty expectations, with a preseason No. 9 ranking in the US LBM Coaches Poll and bolstered by the promise of a 12-team College Football Playoff and Big Ten expansion no longer forcing them to play both Ohio State and Michigan every year.

    James Franklin and his team opened up the season emphatically, going on the road to pummel West Virginia 34-12 in a game in which the Mountaineers were a trendy upset pick. After a shaky sophomore season, Drew Allar impressed in his first game with new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, throwing for 216 yards and three touchdowns on just 17 passes.
