Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ‘special privileges’ in prison revealed by former inmate

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York after he was indicted for sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution earlier last month.

Combs, 54 – who was denied bail by a judge and pleaded not guilty to all charges -was arrested on September 16 and is now awaiting trial.

The American hip-hop mogul is known for his lavish lifestyle, but what is life really like for one of the world’s biggest stars in prison?

Former Married at First Sight star Timothy Smith, who previously served time in a U.S. federal prison, says Diddy’s current jail conditions are grim.

Smith said that despite Diddy’s wealth and status, prison life offers no ‘special treatment.’

‘His money and wealth won’t get him any benefits,’ he told Daily Mail Australia, drawing from his own experiences with inmates of high social status.

‘In the federal system, it’s so limited, you don’t get extra privileges because you’re rich. You’re allowed a few basics like a tracksuit and sneakers from the commissary, but that’s about it. They do raids and if you try to stockpile, they take everything.’

Smith painted a stark picture of life inside the facility, explaining that guards often use isolation as a tool to break inmates.

‘You only get 300 minutes a month on the phone,’ he said.

‘So if you’re on the phone for 30 minutes a day, after 10 days, you get no more phone for the next 20 days.

‘Sometimes you run out of minutes within the first week, and then you’re just left talking to yourself.’

According to Smith, Diddy’s future looks bleak.

‘He’s not watching TV. And the next time he’s on a plane, it’ll be with 200 prisoners on ConAir. He’s not getting out of this one easily.’

Diddy’s case is a high-profile one, and if convicted he could be facing a lengthy sentence.

‘In my experience, three guys took their cases to trial thinking they could win, and they ended up with sentences far worse than they would have received if they had accepted a plea deal.’

In 2006, Smith was arrested for drug trafficking after flying marijuana across the Canada-US border, using his skills as a pilot.

Despite earning a lucrative sum for his crimes, Smith’s operation came to an end when he was caught by U.S. customs officials, leading to a year-long prison sentence, which extended due to immigration complications.

“As soon as you turn 16, I’mma let you rock this every time you want,” he says, presenting Bieber with the extravagant gift.

“Where we’re hanging out and what we’re doing, we can’t really disclose, but it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream. I have been given custody of him,” Diddy claims.

“The fact this is out in the open for 14 years and nobody questioned it until now is crazy,” another commented, while a third added: “The blood-chilling dread of not knowing what occurred after the camera stopped recording.”

Bieber’s former mentor, Usher, was just 14 when he moved in with Diddy, then in his mid-20s, for a year while working on his debut album in the early 1990s.

Superstar producer and businessman Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will remain in jail after a judge denied his release on bail on Tuesday, facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy – accusations that follow numerous others grounded in events from 2009 onwards.

Combs pleaded not guilty Tuesday to racketeering and sex trafficking charges and was ordered to remain in custody pending a trial.

Combs, 54, was arrested by federal agents in New York on Monday evening and accused in a just-unsealed three-count criminal indictment alleging he sexually abused women and coerced them into drug-fueled sex parties using threats and violence.

Appearing in a Manhattan courtroom where many family members came to support him, the one-time music dignitary pleaded not guilty. His lawyer asked Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky to allow his release on bail.

After a lengthy bail hearing in which the prosecution voiced concerns including the potential for witness tampering and flight risk, Judge Tarnofsky denied bail, saying she was concerned about a ‘power imbalance’ in the case that includes people she said are ‘subject to coercion’.

She also cited concerns over his alleged propensity for anger, violence and substance abuse.

Combs, who was wearing a black t-shirt, grey sweatpants and sneakers, did not noticeably react to the pre-trial detention ruling, which his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said would be appealed.

Along with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, Combs is charged with one count of transporting victims across state lines to engage in prostitution.

Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said that although Combs is the only person indicted for now the investigation is ongoing.

The indictment alleges that for decades Combs ‘abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct’.

It accused him of running a criminal enterprise that carried out ‘sex trafficking, forced labour, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice’.

Combs allegedly engaged in a ‘persistent and pervasive pattern’ of verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of women, the indictment said.

“On numerous occasions from at least in or about 2009 and continuing for years, Combs assaulted women by, among other things, striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them,” it said.

Williams said female victims were forced to engage in extended sexual performances with male commercial sex workers in sessions called ‘Freak Offs’, which were planned and controlled by Combs and often videotaped.

“The Freak Offs sometimes lasted days at a time… and often involved a variety of narcotics such as ketamine, ecstasy and GHB,” he said. “The indictment alleges that Combs threatened and coerced victims to get them to participate in the Freak Offs.”

Bombshell suit

The powerful music industry figure, who has gone by various monikers including Puff Daddy and P Diddy, was credited as key to hip hop’s journey from the streets to luxury clubs.

Despite his efforts to cultivate the image of a smooth party kingpin and business magnate, a spate of lawsuits describe Combs as a violent man who used his celebrity to prey on women.

The floodgates opened last year after singer Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, alleged Combs subjected her to more than a decade of coercion by physical force and drugs as well as a 2018 rape.

The pair met when Ventura was 19 and Combs was 37, after which he signed her to his label and they began a relationship.

The bombshell suit was settled out of court, but a string of similarly lurid sexual assault claims followed – including one in December by a woman who alleged Combs and others gang-raped her when she was 17.

The rapper’s luxury homes in Miami and Los Angeles were raided by agents in March.

Disturbing surveillance video emerged in May showing Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Ventura, corroborating allegations she made in the now-settled case.

The prosecution referenced the footage’s content during the bail hearing, suggesting it is a key element of their case.

Global fame with dark shadow

Born Sean John Combs on November 4, 1969, in Harlem, the artist entered the industry as an intern in 1990 at Uptown Records, where he eventually became a talent director.

In 1991, he promoted a celebrity basketball game and concert at the City College of New York that left nine people dead after a stampede and resulted in a string of lawsuits.

He was fired from Uptown and founded his own label, Bad Boy Records.

That began a quick ascent to the top of East Coast hip hop, along with his late disciple, The Notorious B.I.G.

Combs boasted a number of major signed acts and production collaborations with the likes of Mary J Blige, Usher, Lil’ Kim, TLC, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.

He was also a Grammy-winning rapper in his own right, debuting with the chart-topping single ‘Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down’ and his album ‘No Way Out’.

Update On Alleged Drunk Driver Sean Higgins Who Killed ‘Johnny Hockey’

Sean Higgins, who allegedly struck and killed NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and brother Matthew Gaudreau while intoxicated, will remain in jail for at least one more week.

Higgins, 43, appeared in court via Zoom for a pretrial hearing on Thursday.

Superior Court Judge Michael Silvanio said the defense and prosecutors met before the hearing and agreed to ask for three business days each to file documents, exhibits and potential legal briefs. The next hearing is scheduled for September 13.

Higgins, 43, is facing multiple charges including two counts of vehicular homicide. He allegedly hit 31-year-old Johnny Gaudreau and 29-year-old Matthew Gaudreau while they were riding bicycles in Oldmans Township, New Jersey on August 29.

Higgins was allegedly attempting to pass two vehicles in his Jeep Grand Cherokee and crashed into the brothers from behind. Officials said he failed a field sobriety test.

During the hearing, Higgins was seen wearing an orange jail uniform at the Salem County Correctional Facility. He only spoke briefly at the end of the proceeding to acknowledge Silvanio as he was excusing everyone.

Funeral Services for Gaudreau Brothers

The funeral service for Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau will be held on Monday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Media, Pennsylvania. The service will be livestreamed to the public on the Columbus Blue Jackets’ website.

Gaudreau was a forward on the Columbus Blue Jackets. His career in the NHL started in 2011 when he was drafted to the Calgary Flames. He had earned the nickname “Johnny Hockey.”

Johnny Gaudreau’s obituary describes him as more than a hockey star.

“Fame and stardom aside, John was a quiet and simple person. Spending time with his loved ones was what he cared about most. His family members were his best friends, and his best friends were considered family,” the obituary said.

He leaves behind his wife Meredith Gaudreau and two young children, Noa and Johnny.

Matthew Gaudreau was expecting his first child with his wife, Madeline Gaudreau. His obituary expressed the love he had for his growing family.

“Matthew and Madeline were inseparable since they met in Omaha 14 years ago. The last 5 months the joy of welcoming a son consumed his everyday, he was born to be a dad,” the obituary said.

A GoFundMe for Madeline Gaudreau and the couple’s child has raised over $615,000.
