The UAE is a land of contrasts, where the ultra-modern skyscrapers of Dubai hug the desert sands. But just a bit further north, in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, you’ll find a place that feels refreshingly different.  Ras Al Khaimah, or RAK as it’s known to locals, boasts a wilder, more adventurous vibe.  Here, the Hajar Mountains pierce the sky, and the world’s longest zipline lets you soar over dramatic canyons.  RAK is also steeped in history, with ancient ruins and forts whispering tales of times gone by.

How Secret Ingredient Is Redefining Restaurant Success – An Exclusive With The Founders

The restaurant industry is experiencing an unprecedented boom, with more people dining out than ever before. This shift is fueled by evolving lifestyles, rising disposable incomes, and the growing desire for unique culinary experiences. Today, customers are not just seeking great food; they crave memorable experiences that engage all their senses. As a result, restaurants are going beyond traditional dining by investing in ambience, themed settings, innovative menus, and cutting-edge technologies to captivate their patrons.

However, this surge in demand has also led to a fiercely competitive landscape where only the fittest survive. The pressure to stand out and deliver consistently exceptional experiences is immense. Restaurants must constantly innovate, refine their operations, and adapt to changing trends to maintain their edge. This is easier said than done in an industry where customer expectations are sky-high, and missteps can be costly.

This is where consultancy firms like Secret Ingredient step in to make a difference. By offering expert guidance in branding, operations, menu development, and customer engagement strategies, they empower restaurants to compete, survive, and thrive. Whether it’s crafting a unique identity or streamlining processes, Secret Ingredient provides the tools and insights needed to not just stay afloat but flourish in this competitive arena.

Founded by industry veterans Sid Mathur (Director – Advisory & Strategy) and Kula Naidu (Director – Conceptualization & Branding), Secret Ingredient has carved a unique niche as one of India’s premier restaurant and food consultancy firms. At its core, Secret Ingredient prides itself on offering more than just technical know-how. Their approach is deeply rooted in understanding the individual needs of each client, prioritizing sustainable strategies, and nurturing long-term success. From conceptualization to launch, and menu revamps to staffing solutions, the firm has been instrumental in transforming businesses across various food ecosystems, including hotels, malls, and schools.

Sid and Kula share their journey, experiences, insights, and aspirations in a candid Q&A below.

Q&A with Secret Ingredient Founders Sid Mathur and Kula Naidu

Q: Sid, what inspired you to transition from a career in private banking to the F&B industry?
Sid: My love for food started early, thanks to my upbringing in London with well-traveled parents. Even during my years in banking, I found myself gravitating toward the culinary world, constantly exploring new restaurants and cuisines. When I moved back to India, the passion became undeniable. Partnering with Riyaaz Amlani at Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality and running Social further deepened my understanding of the business. However, I noticed a lack of professional, structured food consultancy in the market, which inspired me to establish Secret Ingredient in 2010.

Q: Kula, as someone with international roots, how has your background influenced your approach
Kula: Growing up in Malaysia and being immersed in South Indian heritage exposed me to diverse flavours and cuisines from an early age. This multicultural foundation has shaped my understanding of food and branding. After moving to Delhi in 2007, I explored various ventures, eventually launching Asian Haus under FoodCraft. Over time, I realized that consulting offered a more dynamic and creative platform, which led me to collaborate with Sid on Secret Ingredient. Together, we’ve built a firm that thrives on innovation and tailored solutions.

Q: What sets Secret Ingredient apart in the competitive food consulting space?
Sid: The biggest differentiator is our holistic approach. While many consultants focus solely on kitchen operations or menu development, we address the full spectrum of a restaurant’s needs- from branding and concept creation to operational efficiencies. Moreover, we’re not just consultants; we see ourselves as an extension of our client’s team, genuinely invested in their success.
Kula: Another key factor is the breadth of our experience. We’ve worked with everything from budget-friendly cloud kitchens to ultra-luxury establishments. This versatility allows us to adapt to various scales and styles, ensuring each project gets the personalized attention it deserves.

Q: What challenges do restaurateurs face today that Secret Ingredient aims to address?
Sid: The restaurant industry has always been volatile. For every successful restaurant, two or three struggle to survive. Common issues include poor financial planning, inefficient staff training, and a lack of clear branding or strategy. Restaurateurs often get caught up in day-to-day operations, unable to see the bigger picture. That’s where we come in- to provide clarity, streamline processes, and enhance the likelihood of success.
Kula: Additionally, the market has become more competitive with a younger generation of restaurateurs entering the space. They bring fresh ideas but often lack operational experience. We help bridge that gap, ensuring they avoid common pitfalls and make informed decisions from the get-go.

Q: Could you share a memorable project that turned out to be most gratifying?
Sid: One of the most gratifying projects was our partnership with Select CityWalk. Initially, we were tasked with conceptualizing a food court. The success of that venture led to a seven-year relationship where we eventually managed the entire mall. The trust and recognition we gained through this project were incredible.
Kula: Another standout was our work with Swiggy. We helped them conceptualize their first brand and continue to collaborate on various projects. It’s exciting to work with such a forward-thinking team and play a role in shaping the food delivery landscape.

Q: You manage your own restaurants while consulting others. How do you balance the two?
Kula: It’s definitely a balancing act! Running our own brands has given us invaluable insights that we bring to our consultancy work. For instance, opening Niko, our Pan-Asian space, was a hands-on learning experience. It allowed us to experiment with ideas we later applied to client projects.
Sid: While both aspects are rewarding, our heart lies in consulting. Helping clients succeed, especially those who are starting from scratch, is deeply fulfilling. Watching them grow and thrive is what drives us.

Q: What does the future hold for Secret Ingredient?
Sid: We’re in a growth phase, expanding our team and looking to establish a pan-India presence with regional offices. We’re also exploring international opportunities to bring our expertise to global markets.
Kula: Another exciting avenue is offering management services for restaurants. Many clients have fantastic concepts but lack the operational bandwidth to sustain them. By managing their businesses, we can ensure that the time, money, and effort they’ve invested are not wasted.

Q: Any advice for budding restaurateurs?
Sid: Research thoroughly and plan meticulously. Passion is important, but success in this industry requires a clear strategy, efficient operations, and the ability to adapt to trends.
Kula: Don’t hesitate to seek professional help. Partnering with a consultancy like ours can save you from costly mistakes and set you on the path to success much faster.

With a blend of expertise, creativity, and genuine care for client success, Secret Ingredient continues to redefine food consulting in India. Are you planning to open a restaurant or revamp your food business? You know whom to contact.

  • Outshining USA, One of Japan’s Gold Medalists Reveals Secret to Wrestling Olympics Success

Outshining USA, One of Japan’s Gold Medalists Reveals Secret to Wrestling Olympics Success

After the Paris Olympics, there is no space for doubt about Japanese wrestlers. They came, they saw, and boy, oh boy, did they conquer! When the 2024 Olympics ended, Japan’s wrestling medal tally stood at 11, of which eight were gold. The world saw some of the greatest matches in both Greco-Roman and freestyle events go down this year. For starters, there was Daichi Takatani, who went on to take down Kyle Dake in the 74 kg freestyle finals.

Then there is also Rei Higuchi, who took down an American legend. Rei went up against Spencer Lee, and to the world’s surprise, Lee lost. Rei went on to win 4-2. While the men’s wrestling was huge, the women were just as formidable. Akari Fujinami went on to continue her 130-0 streak and win the 53 kg freestyle gold. All of it left a very simple message to the world. Japan is here to stay and to stay right on top! But what is the secret to their medal sweep?

Nao Kusaka tells his story, giving a glimpse into Japanese training!

One of the Japanese wrestlers who won answers this for the world. Nao Kusaka was the man who took the Olympic gold in the 77 kg event. But his winning moment was perhaps one of the most iconic ones. He stood at Champ-de-Mars Arena, flag in hand, and dropped to his knees. It was an emotional moment, but at the moment of victory, they wondered about the secrets of Japanese training!

Well, wonder no more! Nao Kusaka’s story and how it began give us a glimpse into the Japanese world of wrestling. Kusaka’s journey, however, began when he was just three years old. As a child, he was a “crybaby” who clung to his mother’s side. But amidst the loud cries, one man saw potential in him. It was Takeshi Takeshita, who later went on to become his coach. Takeshi has a very interesting equation for the results that Japan gets.

Takeshi has a mix of wrestling and sumo in his training. As Takeshi himself puts it,30% wrestling and 70% sumo.” So why sumo? Well, the sumo sessions are intended to build Kusaka’s lower body strength and aggression in wrestlers. But that’s not all it does! When Nao Kusaka had an awful period during high school, he did not give up. An attitude his training had given him. Instead, he doubled down.

From that loss on, Nao Kusaka doubled down on his squats, strengthening his legs and perfecting his balance. Today, whenever he feels out of sync, he returns to sumo stomping, a simple but powerful move that grounds him. As his coach puts it, “While most kids would compromise and give up, he never does. He’s a genius that can also put in the hard work.” Now, that’s the kind of training and attitude that gives you a clean sweep at the Olympics. While it was great for Japan, America saw some of its biggest names in wrestling fall.

The fall of American legends like Spencer Lee and Mitchell Mesenbrink!

For America, the wrestling mat turned into a battlefield that they couldn’t conquer. Let’s take Spencer Lee, for example! Lee is a Penn State legend with three NCAA titles and U20 championship wins, but even he fell short at the Olympics. He made it all the way to the finals, where he was set to go head-to-head against Japan’s Rei Higuchi. The match ended with Lee’s fall. While the Olympics have been big for Japan, the U23 World Championships were equally great!

The U23 World Championships unfortunately saw the fall of another American wrestler. America’s beloved and Nittany Lion’s favorite, Mitchell Mesenbrink, had a fate quite like Lee’s. Mitchell, during the championships, had to face Japan’s Kota Takahashi. The match ended with Mitchell’s loss. It is evident that Japan has managed to adopt a style that is quick, agile, and makes every move count. Another American wrestler had something to say about this style!

    via Reuters

Serbian-American wrestler Stevan Micic, impressed yet taken aback, went on to talk about Japan’s techniques. “I think that Japan just having a very outside style, very quick athletic, you know, it’s really difficult to kind of get your hands on them,” said Stevan. It’s a unique blend of speed, precision, and surprise that has even American wrestlers reconsidering their strategies. While some reconsider, there are others who have lived with the Japanese influence for a long time now! Remember Bo Nickal?

    Article continues below this ad

Bo Nickal, over the years, has gone on record many times to talk about how Japan has influenced his wrestling. Bo is also a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has, over the years, infused the same into his techniques. While Japan’s wrestlers continue to break new ground and reimagine the wrestling mat as their own, it’s clear that their rivals are taking notes. The world might just be on the cusp of a Japanese wrestling revolution, and we just might have to scramble to even keep up!

Benefits Of Spinach For Hair Growth:

    1. Packed with Iron

Spinach is loaded with iron, which helps keep your blood flow in check, ensuring that your scalp gets plenty of oxygen. This keeps hair roots strong and helps cut down on hair fall. Plus, spinach has vitamin C, giving your immune system a boost to keep you feeling good and your hair looking strong.

    2. Loaded with Folate

Folate in spinach is key for cell growth – yes, even those cells that make up hair follicles. Folate deficiency can lead to hair growth slowing down or thinning out, so keeping those levels up is essential. Spinach makes it easy to get the folate your hair craves.

    3. Rich in Vitamin A

Vitamin A is a big deal for your scalp. Spinach’s vitamin A content helps produce sebum, which is basically your scalp’s natural oil that keeps hair moisturized and prevents dryness. Healthier scalp? Healthier hair. Simple as that.

    4. Full of Antioxidants

The antioxidants in spinach do more than just keep your hair healthy; they protect your scalp from damage caused by free radicals. This gives hair growth a nice little boost and helps keep things in balance.

How To Add Spinach to Your Diet For Hair Growth?

Spinach is super versatile, and there are plenty of tasty ways to sneak it into your meals. Here are some recipes that are easy to whip up, delicious, and oh-so-good for your hair.

    1. Palak Paneer

Spinach and paneer make a power combo! Paneer adds extra protein and flavour, and you can adjust the spices to suit your taste.

    2. Palak Dal

Spinach dal is a winter classic in many Indian households. Adding lentils to spinach ups the protein, making it a nutritious and filling dish.

    3. Palak Ka Saag

This spinach saag dish is full of flavour with a simple tadka of onion, tomato, and garlic. Pair it with roti, and you’ve got a healthy, hearty meal.

If you’re more of a smoothie person, throw some spinach into a blender with your favourite fruits, or make a refreshing spinach juice. However you have it, this nutrient-packed green will do wonders – not just for your hair but for your overall health.

  • Vidya Balan Reveals The Secret Behind Drastic Weight Loss – How This Particular Diet Helped

Vidya Balan Reveals The Secret Behind Drastic Weight Loss – How This Particular Diet Helped

Vidya Balan, the Bollywood star, has always been candid about her struggles with weight. From being body-shamed to overcoming her weight loss challenges, the actress has never shied away from discussing her personal journey. In recent months, Vidya has wowed her fans with a noticeable transformation, shedding significant weight. But unlike many celebrities who swear by intense workout regimens, Vidya revealed that her secret was a strict diet and not exercise. What’s even more fascinating is that the weight loss wasn’t just about cutting calories-it was about addressing inflammation.

Also Read: 5 Eating Habits That Cause Inflammation. Stop Now!

In an interview with Galatta India, Vidya shared how she met a nutrition group called Amura Health in Chennai, which helped her realize that her persistent weight struggles weren’t solely due to excess fat but rather inflammation. She says, “They said, ‘It is just inflammation; it is not fat.’” Vidya’s revelation is crucial because inflammation could be the hidden culprit behind many people’s inability to lose weight, regardless of diet or exercise. But how exactly does inflammation contribute to weight gain, and how can addressing it lead to successful weight loss?

    What Is Inflammation?

Before diving into Vidya’s journey, let’s understand the role inflammation plays in the body. According to Dr Diane Brzezinski, chronic inflammation is a condition where the body’s immune system stays activated for prolonged periods, leading to persistent low-level inflammation. Unlike acute inflammation, which occurs as part of your body’s natural healing response, chronic inflammation doesn’t subside after an injury or illness. Instead, it becomes part of a broader health issue, contributing to various chronic diseases like diabetes, arthritis, and even heart disease.

Chronic inflammation can be triggered by various factors such as stress, poor diet, smoking, toxins, and even environmental factors. This long-term inflammation doesn’t just affect your organs and joints; it also plays a significant role in weight gain. So, how does inflammation specifically impact weight?

The Link Between Inflammation and Weight Gain

One of the key ways chronic inflammation influences weight gain is through its effect on hormones that regulate metabolism and hunger. As Johns Hopkins Medicine explains, inflammatory foods such as processed meats, fried foods, sugary beverages, and trans fats can increase inflammation in the body. These foods stimulate the immune system and contribute to a chronic inflammatory state, making it harder to lose weight.

Additionally, inflammation disrupts the normal function of insulin, the hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar. Insulin resistance, which occurs when the body’s cells become less responsive to insulin, can lead to higher blood sugar levels, liver fat accumulation, and a sluggish metabolism. This creates a vicious cycle: the more weight you gain, the more your body inflames, and the more difficult it becomes to lose that excess weight.

How Diet Affects Chronic Inflammation and Weight Gain

Researchers have found that diet is one of the most effective ways to combat chronic inflammation and manage weight. Anti-inflammatory foods support the body’s ability to fight inflammation and maintain a healthy metabolism. According to Dr Diane Brzezinski, CRP levels tend to remain elevated until the inflammation is reduced, and this increase can further impair the body’s ability to process insulin, leading to additional weight gain. Therefore, adopting an anti-inflammatory diet can have a profound effect on reducing chronic inflammation and, by extension, managing weight.

Anti-inflammatory Foods to Include in Your Diet

Some of the most effective anti-inflammatory foods suggested by John Hopkins Medicine include:

    1. Fatty Fish: Salmon, mackerel, sardines, and tuna are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce inflammation and support fat loss.
    2. Leafy Greens: Kale, spinach, and broccoli are full of antioxidants that combat inflammation and support overall health.
    3. Berries: Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are packed with antioxidants, which fight cellular damage caused by inflammation.
    4. Nuts and Seeds: Walnuts, flaxseeds, and chia seeds provide omega-3s and help reduce inflammation in the body.
    5. Fermented Foods: Probiotics found in yoghurt, kefir, and kimchi promote gut health, which is closely linked to inflammation levels.
    6. Turmeric and Ginger: These spices have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and can be easily added to your meals.

    Foods that cause inflammation:

John Hopkins Medicine lists the following as inflammatory foods:

    • Red meat, such as steak and hamburgers
    • Processed meat, such as bologna, bacon, sausage and lunchmeat
    • Commercial baked goods such as snack cakes, pies, cookies and brownies
    • Bread and pasta made with white flour
    • Deep-fried items such as French fries, fried chicken and doughnuts
    • Foods high in added sugar, such as candy, jelly and syrup
    • Sugar-sweetened beverages such as soda, bottled or canned tea drinks, and sports drinks
    • Trans fats, found in margarine, microwave popcorn, refrigerated biscuits and dough, and nondairy coffee creamers

The key takeaway from Vidya Balan’s weight loss experience is clear: it’s not just about cutting calories; it’s about healing your body from the inside out.

David Perno is a household name in Athens.

Between his stint as a player on Clarke Central’s state championship football team in 1985, playing baseball for Georgia in the early 90s and then coming back in the early 2000s to coach the Bulldogs to three College World Series, and then going back to his alma mater to coach the football program in 2016? • Scott Disick’s secret weapon for kicking Mounjaro revealed after he was forced to ‘face a level of accountability’

Scott Disick’s secret weapon for kicking Mounjaro revealed after he was forced to ‘face a level of accountability’

Scott Disick kicked his use of weight loss drugs after his teenage son forced him to take ‘accountability’ for sparking widespread concern over his extreme dieting.

Scott’s health was called into question earlier this year when the 41-year-old was pictured looking noticeably thinner, with many fans questioning if he had turned to Ozempic.

However, eagled-eyed viewers later spotted boxes of the weight loss wonder drug Mounjaro stocked up in his fridge during an episode of The Kardashians.

Following multiple reported attempts by loved ones to help the reality star curb his use, insiders have told DailyMail.com that it was 14-year-old Mason’s decision to move in with his father that finally forced the Talentless founder to make a change.

‘Scott had to kick the weight loss drugs and Mason was the main reason why,’ the source said. ‘Having Mason move in with him full time has been a complete game changer.’

They explained that Mason had no issue speaking his mind and calling out his father during his struggles.

‘It has caused him to face a level of accountability that he has never had before, and it has been an incredibly positive experience,’ they said.

‘They are like best friends. Prior to this, Scott was struggling, but Mason calls him out.’

Living with his teenage son also prompted Scott to assess what kind of example he was setting to the three children he shares with ex-girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian, 45.

‘Scott is trying to teach Mason how to be healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle and must lead by example,’ the insider continued.

‘Mason is at the age where he does not tolerate everything, and he is incredibly smart.’

The insider confirmed that Scott has officially kicked his reliance on the weight loss jabs and has a personal chef to help him monitor his food intake.

‘Now he is looking good and feeling good,’ they said. ‘Instead of having his personal chef make unhealthy foods, his chef cooks healthy dishes and Scott has gotten used to it.’

Scott is finally feeling so ‘confident’ in himself that dating is very much ‘on the table.’

Much like the celebrity favorite Ozempic, Mounjaro is a diabetes medication that has also been used to help people shed the pounds.

It was the season five premiere episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians back in May that saw Scott inadvertently reveal what appeared to be two packages of Mounjaro in his fridge.

The weight loss jab was sat on the door above several neatly-arranged cartons of almond milk.

The sighting came after fans had commented on Scott’s obvious weight loss after piling on the pounds due to a back injury following a nasty car crash in 2022.

‘He thought he looked good because he was thinner again – not realizing that this was not healthy,’ an insider told DailyMail.com back in April.

‘Scott has been incredibly attractive and fit his entire life and is not having the best time accepting that age is catching up with him.’

Earlier this year, the doting dad showcased his pride for his eldest child after Mason graduated from 8th grade.

The TV star shared a photo with the young teen and a friend standing in front of Nobu Malibu.

‘Congratulations 2 my best friend in the world for graduatuating [sic] middle school and now on to high school! Let’s go mart!,’ he captioned the snap.

Scott and Kourtney are also parents to daughter Penelope, 12, and son Reign, nine.

Though Mason has shied away from the limelight in recent years, the teenager chose to join Instagram back in May.

His aunts Kim and Khloe Kardashian made it clear that they didn’t know how to feel about the milestone as Kim commented: ‘You’re really on Instagram.’

‘I can’t believe this is happening,’ wrote Khloe, 39.

‘I am sort of not ok,’ she added with crying emojis. ‘He’s a real teenager. The one who names us KiKi and KoKo.’

Kourtney and Scott made Mason delete an account in 2020 when he joined without their permission.

His TikTok account was also previously disabled for violating their terms of service as users are required to be 13 or older, and Mason was 10 at the time.

Kourtney is currently married to Travis Barker with whom she has one-year-old son Rocky.

Scott, who enjoyed a night out in Beverly Hills on Friday, is currently single having dated Sofia Richie and Amelia Hamlin in the wake of his split from Kourtney.

  • Why The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Are Obsessed With Soda

Why The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Are Obsessed With Soda

Soda, coke, pop, or whatever you want to call it, isn’t good for you, but don’t tell that to the women of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. In Season 1 of the Hulu show, viewers all learned that these Mormon wives have an obsession with soda, or as they call it, “dirty soda.”

As viewers learned from cast member Demi Engemann, there are strict rules that Mormons must follow. “We don’t drink alcohol or do drugs and so, soda is kind of our vice,” she stated on the show. Throughout the season, the Mormon wives were seen enjoying parties with a variety of soda flavors which can be combined with syrups and creams. And, instead of a cup of coffee, these women will wake up with a 12-ounce can of coke.

So, what’s the deal with dirty soda and the obsession with it? Here’s the lowdown.

The MomTok women seem to hint that not everyone is returning for Season 2.

The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Viewers Were Intrigued With The Women’s Obsession With Soda

Hulu’s new series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives follows 8 Mormon wives and mothers who try to rebuild their friendship and get back to their careers as TikTok influencers, known as MomTok, after a “soft-swinging” scandal rocked their community. However, what viewers noticed about these women is their odd obsession with soda, or what they call, dirty soda.

In almost every episode, the women are either talking about soda, having a party that includes gallons of soda, or going to Utah’s popular soda spot, Swig, in which they get very large cups of the sugary beverage. But, it’s not just a plain soda that these women order, they combine it with creamers and different syrups.

In Episode 5, Layla Taylor, Demi Engemann, and Jessi Ngatikaura are seen stopping by Swig, a soda-fountain chain popular in Utah. As one of the women calls getting her soda her “Mormon crack,” Demi proceeds to share her very specific soda order that she called a “chef’s kiss.”

“44oz sparkling water, sugar free coconut, sugar free vanilla, sugar free raspberry, sugar free pineapple, and coconut cream.”

Layla then proceeds to order her beverage, which she gets in a 44-ounce cup. She then states, “Six out of the seven days of the week, I’m having at least one 44-ounce soda. I’m probably only going to live to like 50, but it makes me happy.”

Why Do They Drink So Much Soda?

Drinking sugary beverages like Coke or Mountain Dew isn’t healthy, but it is The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ cast’s only alternative to caffeine. According to Cosmopolitan, as practicing members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mormons are not allowed to drink alcohol, tea or coffee. (Despite some of the wives being okay with drinking alcohol, aka Jessi swiging from a flask). Church prophet Joseph Smith was believed to have been told by God that “Hot drinks are not for the body or belly,” something the women mention on the show.

Season 1 of The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives left out Mayci Neeley’s incredibly heart-wrenching story involving her son’s father.

However, soda is not off the table for practicing Mormons. Viewers saw the women chug cans of soda on their girls’ trip in the morning as if it was a cup of coffee. In Episode 3, Jen Affleck and Zac Affleck invite the couple’s to his parents’ home where they hire the owner of another soda shop called Thirst, who brings a variety of soda choices.

“Soda is the Mormon version of coffee,” Mayci states.

She added, “Soda shops open like, the same time as coffee shops. You see people in the drive-thru getting soda, which is crazy.”

What Is Inside A Dirty Soda?

For those who might find themselves in Utah and stopping by a Swig, be prepared to order a soda with lots of syrup. According to Cosmopolitan, dirty sodas are “classic sodas such as Diet Coke, De Pepper, Fanta etc mixed with creams and various syrups to create a new drink.” In addition, the outlet notes that most of these dirty sodas incorporate coconut cream to add a different flavor. Cosmopolitan also states that dirty sodas have been around for over a decade so it’s really nothing new.

In a TikTok, Mayci Neeley and Taylor Frankie Paul answered a Reddit question provided by Cosmopolitanabout their soda obsession. More of a statement than a question, the Reddit user states, “Did anyone else find the whole Utah soda addiction exposure amusing? I live in Utah and can confirm this is extremely real.”

Taylor stated, “Everyone loves the soda. They don’t drink coffee, tea … well, a lot of them don’t, the majority. The lines at like Starbucks in every other states, there so busy, that’s how soda shops are.” She also called getting a dirty soda “a treat.”

However, the MomTok ladies seem to be “treating” themselves to dirty soda a lot.
