  • 2025’s top guard Darryn Peterson set to choose from Kansas, Kansas State, Ohio State and USC on CBS Sports HQ

2025’s top guard Darryn Peterson set to choose from Kansas, Kansas State, Ohio State and USC on CBS Sports HQ

Darryn Peterson, the top-ranked guard in the class of 2025, is all set to decide between Kansas, Kansas State, Ohio State and USC this Friday.

A 6-foot-5 guard from Ohio who is playing his senior season at Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep, Peterson’s decision will be carried live on CBS Sports HQ, the CBS Sports app and the 247Sports YouTube Channel at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT.

Peterson has taken official visits to each of his four finalists. Peterson visited Kansas on June 23, USC on Aug. 2, Ohio State on Aug. 30 and Kansas State on Sept. 27.

Peterson is ranked No. 3 overall in the 2025 class and is considered the No. 1 combo guard in the class.

Earlier this week Buckeyes head coach Jake Diebler visited with Peterson’s family while USC head coach Eric Musselman was in on Tuesday. Jayhawks head coach Bill Self was expected to be the last coach to visit with Peterson and his family when he dropped by on Wednesday night.

A high-profile recruitment, Peterson is one of many top-ranked prospects in the 2025 class nearing a decision. Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, ranked No. 2 and No. 21 overall, came off the board on Oct. 11 and committed to Duke.

247Sports National Basketball Analyst Travis Branham provided an update with intel on many of the remaining uncommitted prospects in the 2025 class including AJ DybantsaNate AmentKoa PeatCaleb WilsonBrayden BurriesChris CenacMeelek ThomasShelton Henderson, and many more.

247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein provides this scouting report on Peterson:

Peterson is a big guard with good positional size, length, and strength. He’s 6-foot-5, with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, and a cut-up and defined frame. What differentiates him most though is an effortless ability to score and make plays from a variety of spots on the floor, all within the flow of the game.

Peterson is extremely versatile. He’s a true combo guard who is equally effective playing on or off the ball. He has natural poise as a handler with now only rare moments when he can be rattled by pressure from smaller guards. He’s also a true multi-level scorer who can simultaneously see the floor, make reads, and pass well. He has a very smooth pull-up game, can overpower most opposing guards off the dribble, take smaller defenders into the post, and also thrive in ball-screens. His understanding of how to get to his spots is second to none and that’s why he’s such an efficient scorer, even in high volume, especially inside the arc (24 points per game in 3SSB play on 50% shooting from the floor and 57% on two-point field goals). He also has good natural instincts and has already developed an NBA caliber intellect when it comes to drawing fouls and getting easy points at the free-throw line.

While he was nearly a 90% shooter at the free-throw line, he was just under 31% from behind the arc. He has a mechanically clean and projectable stroke, but is still working to become a more consistent three-point shooter, particularly off the catch. He’s a good athlete, but doesn’t necessarily have overwhelming or dynamic pop when attempting to separate or explode at the rim. He plays with a ton of on-ball volume right now, and will inevitably have to learn to play less with the ball in his hands at the next level, even as a primary playmaker.

Peterson is a solid and competitive on-ball defender with very good playmaking metrics off the ball as well (3.4 stocks per game). He is also an elite perimeter rebounder (7.4 per game) with the size, strength, and length to eventually be a multi-positional defender.

Overall, there’s just not another guard in the country right now who can match Peterson’s combination of size, length, strength, real functional versatility, and effortless ability to get to his spots that can make the game look easy at times.

  • INSIDE SPORT: Shock identity revealed of MCC member banned for life for verbally abusing Aussies during the Ashes, while Luis Diaz is set to cash in on his fine form

INSIDE SPORT: Shock identity revealed of MCC member banned for life for verbally abusing Aussies during the Ashes, while Luis Diaz is set to cash in on his fine form

Inside Sport can reveal the identity of the MCC member given a life ban following the astonishing scenes in the Long Room after Australia’s controversial stumping of Jonny Bairstow in last year’s Ashes.

The member in question is Henry Somerset – son of the former chief cashier of the Bank of England – and the situation has caused some embarrassment beyond the Grace Gates.

Somerset also happens to be a former captain at the upmarket Rye Golf Club in East Sussex, where ex-MCC assistant secretary Jamie Clifford is now secretary.

Well-liked Clifford is also a non-executive director at Kent, after a period as interim chairman at the county earlier this year.

Australia’s players were verbally abused as they made their way through the iconic walkway after wicketkeeper Alex Carey had stumped Bairstow when the Yorkshire batsman left his crease, mistakenly believing the ball was dead. One Aussie even claimed a kick was aimed at a team-mate.

MCC subsequently wrote to all their members asking for help identifying the culprits who ‘brought shame’ on the club during the second Test in July 2023.

Somerset, who was charged with ‘abusive, offensive or inappropriate behaviour or language’ was one of three members suspended following a confidential disciplinary process. The other two are understood to have received less severe bans.

Meanwhile, eyebrows have been raised at MCC following the news that chair Mark Nicholas is to head overseas to commentate on the Australia versus India Test series and South Africa’s domestic Twenty20 competition this winter.

Senior members have expressed surprise that the former Hampshire batsman, who took up the reins this month after a stint as president, will depart for about six weeks at a time when various issues are swirling, including the redevelopment of Lord’s and potential taking of a ruling stake in the London Spirit franchise.

MCC insiders say they are ‘relaxed’ about the situation.

Voting on whether to accept the ECB’s offer of a 51 per cent stake in the Spirit ends today.

    Diaz deals up for grabs

Following his blistering start to the season, Luis Diaz is being offered to companies for potential brand partnerships.

An email sent to major firms, seen by Inside Sport, offers Diaz for deals for the rest of 2024 and into 2025.

According to agency MN2S, the Liverpool star is available for ‘endorsements, collaborations, sponsorship opportunities and personal appearances’.

    Former BBC chief’s new career

Whether she painted a pretty picture during her time at the BBC is open to debate, but former head of sport Barbara Slater is hoping to do just that in her new career.

The ex-Olympic gymnast, who stood down in spring following 14 years in the role, is also a landscape artist who last month held an exhibition as part of the Ealing Art Trail.

Slater, who goes by the name of Jane Schofield in the art world, ‘loves to create bright and cheerful pieces of art work’.

Her latest offering is based on ‘the explosion of foliage in the great trees of Richmond Park and Kew Gardens’, according to the Trail’s website.

    Stoke dismay at Hurst exit

The work of Stoke City’s Community Trust has been a shining light for the faltering club since their relegation from the Premier League in 2018. So, it came as a considerable surprise when the services of long-serving community head Adrian Hurst were dispensed with by chief operating officer Simon King last month.

Hurst’s sudden departure was met with widespread dismay, not only among club staff and supporters but also local businesses who have helped finance the Trust’s many outstanding projects over the years.

  • Battling Constant Body Shaming Issues at DWTS, Ilona Maher Set to Make Major Career Move After Historic Paris Olympics Triumph

Battling Constant Body Shaming Issues at DWTS, Ilona Maher Set to Make Major Career Move After Historic Paris Olympics Triumph

Like Stephe Nedoroscik, Ilona Maher is also having the time of her life right now. Coming off a bronze-winning Parisian campaign, the rugby player is now wooing fans with her groovy moves. Over the past few weeks, Maher’s stint at Dancing With The Stars has been mesmerizing, to say the least. Partnering up with Alan Bersten, the 28-year-old is showing that talent can never be restricted within strict confines. And she might have even grander plans to expand her horizons even further.

Ahead of making her dancing debut, Maher noted that it wasn’t just her love for dancing that encouraged her to join the show. Instead, she wanted to take the opportunity to spread more awareness about how body shaming can be devastating for a person’s confidence. Now, she’s looking to boost her worth further by possibly taking a bold step across the pond.

The next chapter awaits for Ilona Maher

An article by The Telegraph from October 25 claims that the USA 7s star is potentially in the talks to join several British rugby clubs. The most-followed rugby player on social media is already in communication to make her move to the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) complete. With the World Cup coming up next year, Maher might soon be spending her days on the field in the UK rather than in the USA.

Both the Bristol Bears and Gloucester-Hartpury have reached out to the Olympic medalist to enlist her among their ranks. Maher is currently one of the most popular sports stars in the world, and SportsPro ranked her eighth on the list of the most marketable athletes in the world. With over seven million followers on social media, it’s easy to comprehend why the PWR also wants Maher to be the face of the tournament. However, the path to get her to the British Isles won’t be a walk in the park for any of the involved parties.

Issues with visas could become the biggest hurdle to getting Ilona Maher to relocate from the USA. Moreover, the fact that the Vermont resident hasn’t had an appearance in 15-a-side matches since 2021. On the other hand, the USA has been a steady supplier of players to the PWR over the years, and Maher could be the latest to join the long list. The defender could arrive in the UK in January, making her available for at least six regular-season matches. Whatever happens, Maher currently has a lot on her plate to deal with.

From the rugby pitch to the dance floor: A graceful transition

At the 33rd Games, Team USA made history as it beat Australia to win its first-ever rugby sevens Olympic medal. For understandable reasons, Maher was hovering above cloud 9 after the milestone achievement with her squad mates. With her dream to bag a spot on the podium being an unfulfilled dream at the Tokyo Games, Maher could barely withhold her jubilation after the team’s feat in the City of Love. After the victory, Maher also noted that this should give the sport more exposure. “I hope this means more money and funding for us because we deserve it. I hope this means more girls in the US trying out rugby and seeing what it can do for them,” she said later.

In the days after the Games, showing up for Dancing With The Stars was the only logical step for Maher to bring more fans to the fold. “When I first got the call, I wanted to say no. I have never danced before. I think I took a ballet class at preschool, and that is it. My comfort zone is the rugby pitch,” she elaborated on what made her skeptical to try out something new. However, these past five weeks have proven that Ilona Maher can achieve anything she sets her mind to. What has been the best moment for you from Maher’s scintillating dancing career? • LeBron James has set a new bar for nepotism in sports

LeBron James has set a new bar for nepotism in sports

    Open this photo in gallery:

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, left, warms up with son and guard Bronny James before a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, on Oct. 22.Eric Thayer/The Associated Press

On Tuesday night, the NBA’s big summer talking point resolved itself – LeBron James played on the same court as his son, Bronny.

‘Play’ is a term of art here. James père was playing. James fils was briefly taking up space.

Bronny put up the sort of stat line for the Los Angeles Lakers that he’s managed throughout the preseason – three minutes, two shots, no points and no assists. Were it not for one soft rebound, one might fairly say that you could have done just as well.

The problem with Bronny James is not that he isn’t good enough to be in the NBA – which he isn’t.

Every league has guys who aren’t good enough to be there, but are. Maybe because the coach likes them, or they’re signed to a forever deal well past their sell-by date. The trick is to be amenable.

By all accounts, Bronny James is that likeable sort of person. Sure, he’s a shrimp compared to his dad, and wasn’t good enough to start for his college team, and suffered a cardiac arrest just over a year ago.

But so what? In order for a very few guys to be really good, someone has to be a little bad. Why not him?

Bronny could be out there in an eye patch and on crutches and it wouldn’t be much different than watching former Raptor Oliver Miller play full-court defence.

No, the problem with Bronny isn’t skill. It’s shamelessness.

Until now, sports people still pretended pro sports was a meritocracy. After Bronny, only a very naive person or an employee of the NBA could continue to believe that.

Sports has never been meritocratic. It’s always been meritocratic-ish.

The ideal works at the highest level. Jackie Robinson didn’t break the modern-day colour barrier because the times they were a-changin’. He did so because his talent was undeniable.

If you’ve got that special thing, nothing else about you matters. Short, squat, slack-jawed, loud-mouthed? All surmountable as long as you can really get hold of the curveball.

Sports is the only workplace where that lie we tell children – ‘You can be whatever you want to be’ – is true. Everywhere else, you can be what someone in charge allows you to be.

But if sports is perfectly fair at the top, it gets less and less so as you approach the bottom.

Wayne Gretzky’s son was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. His minor-league baseball career didn’t get far. Now he’s an actor/producer. Something tells me this career progression might not have gone as smoothly if his last name were Smith.

This dodge passes without comment because it sometimes works out. Mike Piazza was taken 1,390th in the 1988 baseball draft because Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda owed his father a solid. Piazza went on to make the Hall of Fame.

The issue here isn’t ethics, of which pro sports has very little. It’s proportion. Where nepotism or favouritism exists, it is done on a small scale. All true rewards are contingent on performance. Whatever deal has been cut is done quietly.

Then LeBron James comes along and whistleblows on his own grift. James has been talking for years about how he wants to play with his son. (Translation: I will only go to a team that promises to make that happen.)

The Lakers were happy to trade the bump in jersey sales and one NBA title for a little roster fix. The rest of the NBA cleared a path so that Bronny would still be available with the 55th pick.

Why didn’t another team draft Bronny, either forcing his father to make a hard decision or forcing the Lakers to give up a player of real value for him? Because that’s not how fixes work.

If the goal was to keep this even the teensiest bit on the down low, Bronny would have been sent straight to the G League. Think of all the thumbsuckers that could have been written about a hardworking young man trying to do it the right way.

But nope. Having agreed a deal, the Jameses did not care to wait for the payoff. In their position, I’d probably expect the same thing.

One kid getting an enormous leg up isn’t a problem. It’s all the other people with their legs in the air that will be.

If LeBron James can get his semi-talented son into the the world’s top basketball league, what could Lionel Messi do? If Messi wants his brother on his Major League Soccer team, people in that league will fall all over themselves to say what a great idea that is.

What if he wants his own kid on the team? And that kid is still in high school? Or he wants two kids?

Stars are always looking for new ways to flex. Teams are asked to provide all sorts of extracurriculars in order to prove their love.

What if the new flex is getting some halfwit you went to high school with into the starting lineup of the New York Yankees?

Money means very little to sports franchises any more. But their dignity? That is something they won’t sell cheaply. That’s something they would only surrender to the truly exceptional player.

Would the Yankees sign a son or a cousin for Gerrit Cole or Aaron Judge? Absolutely not. They’re both under contract. But for soon-to-be free agent Juan Soto? Maybe.

Until now, few athletes would think to try. No star would go so far lest he look ridiculous. Why ask for something you know you can’t have?

LeBron and Bronny James just proved you can have it. And not just have it. But be celebrated for having the gall to ask for it. James father and son have set the new bar for athletic superstardom.

From now on, you will never know how great you were until you asked for something no team wants to give you, and got it anyway.

The tournament was delighted to announce the ‘tremendous news’ this week, exciting fans who will no doubt be eager to see the Uruguay legend in action in a completely different sport.

The United cult hero who will feature at the Uruguay Open is none other than Diego Forlan, who won the English top flight with the Red Devils under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2002-03.

The Uruguayan also won the FA Cup at Old Trafford in 2004 before leaving for LaLiga outfit Villarreal, where he made over 100 appearances for the club.

Forlan then took up arms with Atletico Madrid during the most prolific spell of his career in terms of goal-scoring, netting a cool 74 goals across 134 appearances before switching to Inter Milan in 2011.

The ex-Uruguay international, who chalked up 112 caps for his country, dotted around Brazil, Japan, India and his homeland before retiring at Hong Kong outfit Kitchee back in 2018.

Since, the 45-year-old has managed his boyhood club Penarol and fellow Uruguayan club side Atenas before turning his attention to tennis.

As of July last year, Forlan has been competing in the ITF Masters professional tennis tour and went as far as the quarter-finals in the ITF MT1000 Lima tournament in Peru, a competition for athletes aged 45 and over.

Announcing the news of Forlan’s participation alongside Coria at the Uruguay Open, which takes place between November 11 and November 17, the tournament said: ‘Attention tennis and sports fans!

‘This year at the Uruguay Open, we have an UNMISSABLE duo in doubles: Argentine tennis player Federico Coria (currently number 78 in the ATP ranking) and former Uruguayan football player Diego Forlan.

‘Yes, our number 10 is smashing it in tennis too! This year, Forlan has competed in more than three +40 tournaments in Montevideo, also standing out in the MT1000 in Lima of the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour.

‘Fun fact: Forlán is left-handed at tennis, the opposite to how he played football, and his right-hand stroke is the most powerful. What do you think of this news? Do you have faith in this duo?’

  • Football set to lift booze ban after 39 years despite police objections | Football | Sport

Football set to lift booze ban after 39 years despite police objections | Football | Sport

Football’s alcohol ban will be lifted in a trial during Women’s Championship matches, with two stadiums taking part in the test in the English second tier.

Booze is prohibited in sight of the pitch in all top five tiers of the men’s game, though allowed lower down the pyramid and in women’s football. Fans taking part in the trial will be able to take their drinks up to their seats while the match is being played.

Alcohol is sold in the concourses of stadiums before and during games but cannot be brought into the stands.

Nikki Doucet, chief executive of Women’s Professional Leagues Limited, said that the clubs and stadiums taking part in the trial had not yet been confirmed.

“We are testing that actually in a couple of teams in the Championship this season and we’ll see what we learn from it,” she said at Leaders Week London at the Allianz Stadium. “Our fan base and the behaviour is different to the men’s game.

“Ultimately it’s about being able to give our fans choices, while obviously maintaining the safety and what we need to do in terms of being responsible.”

The proposal is not a new concept, however. Former Sports Minister Tracey Crouch broached the idea of fans at League Two sides and below being able to drink inside the ‘stadium bowl’ in her 2021 Fan-led Review.

However, the idea was shot down by police chiefs despite support from fan groups and League Two bosses. The Sun claim that the police’s position has not changed on the matter in men’s football, though they are powerless to stop local forces from preventing such a trial in the women’s game.

In 2023, the EFL’s Head of Security and Safety Operations Bob Eastwood said there was a “lack of evidence” to support the outright ban when giving evidence in the House of Commons during a discussion on football safety.

Drinking in view of the pitch has been banned in the top five male divisions since 1985 and those caught breaking that law can even land three-month prison sentences.

In Scotland, the government confirmed that it was giving “serious consideration” to a decades-long suspension of alcohol in football stadiums. Supporters have been banned from drinking at games completely since 1980 when Celtic and Rangers fans stormed the pitch and threw beer cans during the Scottish Cup final.

“Things have moved on in football and we need to look at this as a way of helping football clubs be able to generate more money,” Minister for Parliamentary Business George Adam told MFR radio station.

“You already have alcohol at football games in corporate [sections], it’s just a case of finding other areas or zones in grounds to do that and make sure it’s a safe and controlled environment.”

And now we finally know when the first sailing date will be — Dec 15, 2025 from Marina Bay Cruise Centre.

This was announced during a “grand reveal” event at Marina Bay Sands on Wednesday (Oct 16).

Bookings for the cruise are scheduled to open on Dec 10, and more details on pricing and sailing dates will be released on Nov 14.

The ship will have three- and four-night itineraries without making any stops. It’ll feature seven themed areas, each showcasing popular characters from movies such as Toy Story, Big Hero 6 and The Jungle Book.”

This will be Disney Cruise Line’s first Asia-based cruise and the ship will be ported at Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years as part of a collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board.

Disney announced that, for the first time on a Disney Cruise Line, the Disney Adventure cruise will feature three all-new attractions in an upper-deck adventure zone dedicated to the Marvel Universe.

Among these is the Ironcycle Test Run, the longest rollercoaster at sea, measuring 250m in length.

There will also be an all-new Broadway-style musical Remember, developed exclusively for the Disney Adventure.

This area, which is great for families with young children, will include water features inspired by the Toy Story films. Some examples are a large family pool, multiple whirlpools, towering water slides and interactive splash pads.

Over at San Fransokyo Street, you’ll find Big Hero Arcade, a dynamic family gaming lounge.

Parents with kids aged six months to three years can head to the It’s A Small World nursery, offering babysitting services for a nominal fee in a whimsical environment inspired by the beloved Disney attraction of the same name.

For kids between the ages of three and 10, there’s the Disney’s Oceaneer Club, which is divided into themed areas like The Hub, Fairytale Hall, Andy’s Toy Box and Walt Disney Imagineering Lab.

Each space will be designed for storytelling, creativity, arts and crafts, dress-up, playing games, watching Disney movies, and meeting favourite Disney characters.

Tweens aged 11 to 14 can unwind at Edge, a vibrant clubhouse where they can have fun, make friends and enjoy various games. On the other hand, teens aged 14 to 17 can head over to Vibe, a dynamic space where they can meet new people, watch movies, play games and engage in group activities.

Both Vibe and Edge are actually hidden in plain sight, disguised as storefronts on San Fransokyo Street.

And if you’re an adult who needs some time away from kids, fret not as there are experiences exclusive for you.

The ship will also have a fitness centre with a juice bar, wellness consultations, meditation room and dedicated spaces for activities such as cycling and yoga. This is only available for adults and those aged 14 and older when accompanied by an adult.

Adult guests can also indulge in a spa day at sea in the private treatment rooms and salon.

The spa will be available for adults and those 13 and older when accompanied by an adult.

    You’ll never go hungry

With a plethora of dining options onboard, guests will be left spoilt for choice.

The Disney Adventure offers rotational dining, which allows guests to have three unique Disney dining experiences during their voyage.

Wrexham set to secure pathway to European football as FA chiefs consider radical Prosiect Cymru plan

    • Welsh clubs playing in England may soon have an alternative pathway to Europe
    • Plans would see likes of Wrexham, Cardiff and Swansea in the Welsh League Cup

Wrexham will soon be crossing swords with some of Europe’s most famous names if football bosses approve a radical plan later this year.

The League One club have become a global sensation thanks to the investment from Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and Welsh FA chiefs have developed a proposal that would see Wrexham, Swansea, Cardiff and Newport competing in the Welsh League Cup – giving them a far easier route to European competition.

Key FAW (Welsh FA) figures also believe the move would drive investment across Welsh football.

As the clubs are part of the English pyramid, they can qualify for Europe only through the Premier League, FA Cup or EFL Cup. If they entered the Welsh League Cup, they would no longer be able to reach Europe through the ‘English’ route.

Yet Mail Sport understands there is significant interest in the idea in the initiative, named ‘Prosiect Cymru’ (Project Wales).

Prosiect Cymru would see Welsh clubs playing in the English pyramid compete in the Welsh League Cup for a place in the Europa Conference League

UEFA, the Football Association, Premier League and clubs in the Cymru Premier, Wales’ domestic top flight, have seen the proposal and it is due to go before the FA’s Professional Game Board before the end of 2024.

The winner of the Welsh League Cup enters the Europa Conference League, which this season features Chelsea, Panathinaikos and Fiorentina.

Roma won the first edition in 2022, followed by West Ham in 2023 and Olympiacos last year.

Welsh clubs in the EFL have not participated in an FAW competition since the FAW Premier Cup – which did not offer European qualification – was abolished in 2008, but they have a rich history in continental contests.

Cardiff beat Real Madrid in the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1971, Wrexham defeated Porto in the same competition in 1984 and Newport reached a Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-final in 1981, while Swansea won 3-0 in Valencia in a 2013 Europa League match.

  • I aim to set the pace in the betting space

I aim to set the pace in the betting space

In the 1990s, becoming a proficient financial systems expert required a sharp eye for numbers, a deep understanding of processes, and a keen awareness of market trends. While these fundamentals remain unchanged, technology has significantly accelerated and transformed the field.

Joash Ajuoga, the Country Manager of 22Bet Kenya, has over 20 years of experience across various industries at various management levels. He shares his insights on thriving in the financial systems sector.

    What is your educational background?
I hold a higher diploma in software engineering, a higher diploma in project management, and 20 years of experience from exposure to different sectors.

    What was your dream career?
Growing up, I wanted to venture into mechanical engineering. This dream however changed with time as I interacted with different professionals.

What does it take to be a financial systems expert?
It requires good knowledge of financial systems, processes and markets, which includes integration and links to other related systems, ability to consume feedback and strengths in research and development. The ability to consume and act on feedback is crucial for continuous improvement and adaptation. Engaging in ongoing research and development helps you stay ahead of industry trends and innovations. Listening to stakeholders, whether they are clients, team members, or partners, enables organisations to adapt and enhance their offerings. This feedback loop is integral for refining processes and responding to changing market needs.

Professionals should be adept at linking financial processes with other business functions such as marketing, operations, and IT to create a cohesive operational framework. Integration facilitates data flow and improves decision-making across departments, which is vital for a business’s success.

Tell us about your current position, what exactly does your role entail?
One of my primary focuses is on compliance. Working closely with regulatory bodies is crucial for maintaining our integrity and ensuring that we adhere to all legal standards. This relationship not only helps us navigate the regulatory landscape but also builds trust with stakeholders and clients. Engaging with these entities requires vigilance and responsiveness, as regulations can change rapidly.

Good coordination and communication are vital, both internally and externally. I prioritise fostering strong relationships with our departmental heads and team leaders. By ensuring that everyone is aligned on our goals and objectives, we can operate more efficiently and effectively. Regular meetings and updates help maintain transparency and encourage collaboration, enabling us to tackle challenges as a unified team.

My role also involves studying, analysing, and optimising our processes. I regularly assess our operations to identify areas for improvement. This could mean streamlining workflows, enhancing customer experiences, or implementing new technologies to boost efficiency. By continuously refining our processes, we position ourselves to respond swiftly to market demands and maintain our competitive edge.

What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
There is always something new to learn every day, and that makes me excited about new projects. Whether it’s exploring new technologies, optimising processes, or launching innovative marketing strategies, there’s always something on the horizon that piques my interest. Each project not only enhances my understanding of the industry but also allows me to collaborate with talented team members who bring diverse perspectives and expertise.

When not working at your current position, what do you do?
I just learnt how to play golf and it is startling how I lived this long without experiencing this game.  What’s truly fascinating is how much I’ve learned from golf that mirrors life’s challenges. The sport teaches patience, focus, and resilience – qualities that are essential in both golf and my professional life. For instance, navigating the course requires careful planning and execution, much like strategising in business. When faced with obstacles, whether it’s a tricky hole or a tough market situation, I’ve learned to assess the situation calmly and tweak my approach to achieve my goals.

    What are your goals?
My dream is to ensure that I become part of a team that creates a brand that will set the pace for the industry. By focusing on brand identity, driving innovation, and ensuring compliance, I’m dedicated to creating a quality brand that reflects our values and inspires others.
