Sheridan County HS Football: The Sheridan High School Football Team is at home tonight vs. Kelly Walsh, but unlike the other teams that the Broncs have played against, this year’s version of the Trojans could be the most unusual opponent they’ve gone up against.

KW is a run heavy team, thanks to the double wing style of offense that they’ve been using.

Sheridan Head Coach Jeff Mowry says he’s not too worried about his players going up against the opposing defense, provided they keep the ball out of the hands of the opposing offense.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 o’clock.

You can watch a LIVE video stream of the game at sheridanmedia.com.

Shane Parker will also have the LIVE radio play-by-play on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

As for the other Sheridan County High School Football teams, both of them are on the road this weekend.

Big Horn plays at 6pm today at Burns, while Tongue River plays at 1pm tomorrow at Newcastle.

Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Last night was the first matchup between rivals BH and TR in Dayton.

The Lady Eagles would win the first set, but it was all Lady Rams after that, as they would win the match 3-1.

Today Big Horn plays at Wright, while Tongue River is at home vs. Moorcroft starting at 5pm.

Tomorrow BH is at home vs. Moorcroft starting at 1pm, while TR is at home vs. Wright starting at 2pm.

As for Sheridan, the Lady Broncs are on the road today and tomorrow to play 4A East opponents.

Sheridan plays today at Cheyenne South and tomorrow at Laramie.

The Lady Plainsmen are the defending 4A State Champs.

As for Arvada-Clearmont, the team has this week off from competition.

The Lady Panthers were originally scheduled to play at home vs. Ten Sleep tomorrow, but that match has been canceled, because TS does not have a team this season.

Sheridan HS Tennis: At the State Tennis Meet in Gillette, things are going very well for the Sheridan boys team.

The Broncs are in today’s semi-finals in every bracket in singles and doubles.

As of the end of yesterday’s competition, Sheridan is in 1st place in the team standings.

For the Lady Broncs, the #3 doubles team of Avery Ligocki and Malloria Akers are in the semi-finals.

All others are in the consolation round.

Action today and tomorrow starts at 8:30am.

Tomorrow’s action is just championship and 3rd place matches only.

University Of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys play their homecoming game tomorrow and Mountain West Conference opener against Air Force.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Mountain West Conference News: It does not look like the conference will be losing any more teams.

UNLV officially said no to the PAC 12 and Air Force the same to the AAC.

All remaining Mountain West Conference teams have signed a binding agreement to stay with the conference for some time.

However the conference has to get a few new teams to join, because it is below the minimum number of 8 teams to be officially recognized as a conference by the NCAA.

Currently, when the football season starts in 2026, there will be 7 teams in the conference for football and 6 in every other sport, because Hawaii is a football only member and recently Hawaii announced that the team will stay in the conference for football at least through the 2032 season.

Several media sources are saying Texas State could be a target as an all sports selection.

Other reports say the Mountain West Conference has notified the Mid-American Conference of its interest in bringing in Northern Illinois and Toledo as football only members.

Charlie Blackmon hit a 2-run home run earlier in the game.

This weekend is the final 3-games of the 2024 regular season and the Rocks will host the LA Dodgers, who lead Philadelphia by 1 game in the standings, for the #1 seed in the National League playoffs.

First pitch today and tomorrow is scheduled for 6:10pm and Sunday’s game is scheduled to start at 1:10pm.

Colorado’s record on this season is 61-98, meaning the team needs to win 2 out of 3 games this weekend, in order to avoid a 100-loss season.

Sheridan County HS Football: All 3 Sheridan County High School Football teams are at home tonight, but most of the hype will be focused on the game at Sheridan.

The 3-time defending 4A State Champion Broncs host Cheyenne East, who they have defeated in each of the last 2 state championship games and it just so happens, the Thunderbirds are the last team to beat them, which was back in 2021.

If Sheridan wins, the team would set a new Wyoming High School Football State Record for longest winning streak in history, with their 35th consecutive win.

Currently the Broncs’ 34-game win streak, is the 7th longest active winning streak in the country and is the longest active winning streak west of Nebraska.

Head Jeff Mowry says the team is well aware of all the record hype, and while it’s been nice to celebrate each win and get all the love that comes with it, there’s still a job to do, and a game to focus on and play tonight.
