Cooking Turns Into Comedy: Mother And Sons Hilarious Ginger-Garlic Paste Mix-Up Is Trending

What happens when a routine mother-son cooking session takes an unexpected and hilarious turn? In an Instagram video that has now gone viral, we see a simple cooking task quickly turning into a comedy of errors. It all begins with the mother asking her son to add ginger garlic paste to the dish, but what unfolds next will make you ROFL.

Also Read: Viral Video: Man’s “Sweet” Gesture On Daughter’s Homecoming Is Winning The Internet

The video begins with the mother calmly saying, “Tharush, add 1 spoon ginger garlic paste to it.” Her son, fully focused on the task, responds with a confident, “Got it,” before walking away for a moment. He returns not with the ginger-garlic paste, but with a spoon, fresh ginger, garlic pods — and, wait for it — toothpaste! With all seriousness, he proceeds to add each ingredient to the pot. First, the spoon, then ginger, followed by garlic and, finally, he squirts toothpaste into the pot, all while chanting, “1 spoon, ginger, garlic, paste,” like a cooking pro.

As the mother continues to cook in another part of the kitchen, her back facing the camera, she doesn’t realise what’s happening. But the moment she turns around, she’s shocked. “Stop!” she screams, snatching the toothpaste from the son’s hands. “Use your brain!” she adds and points at the jar of ginger-garlic paste kept next to the burner.

The text overlay in the video jokingly read, “My proud Gen Alpha’s ‘a spoon ginger garlic paste.’”

The caption stated, “I wish I used ‘a spoon of G&G paste’ in the sentence.”

    Watch the video here:

The video, which has already garnered over 10.2 million views, has sparked a flurry of reactions in the comments.

A user wrote, “Try telling him, ‘a spoon of ginger garlic paste.’”

Another couldn’t believe the hilarious mistake, saying, “I really hope this is a joke cause if that’s real then that next generation is just messed up.” To this, the video’s creator responded, “Obviously it’s a joke, how can he be ready with all the items.”

The video even caught the attention of a person who referenced an iconic Colgate ad slogan, joking, “Maybe the toothpaste was for the ‘namak’ (salt) because ‘kya aapke toothpaste mein namak hai’ (does your toothpaste have salt) just got a whole new meaning.”

Some users alluded to the fact that Gen Alpha kids are smart and not dumb at all.

“Alpha kids know everything, they do things to purposely tease their mother,” a comment read.

Another added, “Good content for a video, but I am a gen alpha mom, they are way smarter.”

So, while the ginger-garlic paste may not have made it into the dish as planned, the comedy that unfolded in just a few seconds has certainly left an impact on users.

Kerry Chikarovski’s son’s lavish Sydney lifestyle revealed before downfall

After his arrest, Chikarovski agreed to forfeit $1.44 million to the Crime Commission in place of the assets it had previously confiscated.

Chikarovski also fitted the profile of the typical dark web vendor busted by the cybercrime squad.

“They’re normally a fairly educated and intelligent person who has never come across the radar of police before. They obviously have a technical proficiency,” Smith said.

Chikarovski had been selling mass quantities of cocaine, MDMA, crystal methylamphetamine and prescription drugs on the dark web since 2017, Smith said.

“We could tell from the activity in the comments … that they were doing a considerable amount of business. What we can see from looking at activity on the dark net is that this particular vendor had been active for a number of years on Abacus Market, the Incognito Market and others.”

Chikarovski was the only person arrested by the task force, who say he was running a one-stop drug supply shop, packing orders himself then posting a huge volume of small orders from post offices across Sydney’s east.

“It was a very labour-intensive operation, which exposes you to risk. At some point you have to go hands-on with drugs, that’s a real point of vulnerability,” Smith said.

Agreed facts say that from February 6, 2023, until his arrest on May 18 that year, Chikarovski supplied or possessed for the purposes of supply 209.06 grams of MDMA, 167.4 grams of cocaine, 44.05 grams of meth, 135.38 grams of ketamine, and 300 tablets of dexamphetamine.

After police came to suspect Chikarovski was AusCokeKing, an undercover officer became a customer, using cryptocurrency to pay for 18 different orders including “premium European imported MDMA” and “limited time only” imported meth.

“We established this person was not just dealing with one commodity, there were multiple types of drugs being sold, which pose a real risk to the community,” Smith said.

Police are still in the dark about where Chikarovski sourced his drugs from, but believe it was most likely a local organised crime connection because of the volumes being sold.

His arrest came despite his adherence to the principles of the so-called “dark net bible”, which include encrypted communications, cryptocurrency, servers routed all over the world and glove usage to avoid a forensic trace.

“You can use all the technical anonymising techniques in the world, but at some point, you’re going to have to get your hands on some drugs,” Smith said.

“It goes to show that all the protections in the world don’t actually protect you from the long arm of the law. We are certainly determined to let people know that we do police the dark net and if you are on there you still are very much at risk of being arrested.”

Chikarovski is expected to be sentenced on Friday.

  • Jury awards a family $5M and says football coach’s actions caused their son’s suicide

Jury awards a family $5M and says football coach’s actions caused their son’s suicide

BOSTON (AP) — The family of a teenager who died by suicide was awarded $5.4 million this week after a jury found his football coach and several school administrators were negligent in the way they responded before the 15-year-old’s death.

Nathan Bruno killed himself in 2018 after his family alleges Portsmouth High School’s then-football coach Ryan Moniz pressured the boy to reveal the names of other students involved in sending harassing text messages and phone calls to the coach. The family also alleges Moniz had football players pressure Bruno to provide the names.

The jury’s decision Wednesday said Moniz was both negligent and that his actions caused Bruno’s suicide — meaning he alone was responsible for the jury award, which would be paid out by the school district. The boy’s father, Richard Bruno, declined to comment Friday on the jury’s decision. Moniz did not immediately respond to a message sent to his school email.

It’s not the first time a school district has been ordered to pay after a student takes their own life. A Utah school district in 2023 agreed to pay $2 million to the family of a Black, autistic 10-year-old girl who killed herself after being harassed by her classmates.

Bruno’s suicide led to the School Committee to remove Moriz as football coach, although he is still listed on the district’s website as a teacher. Rhode Island’s legislature passed a law in 2021 named in honor of Bruno that requires all public school districts to adopt suicide prevention policies and train school personnel in suicide awareness and prevention.

The lawsuit filed by Bruno’s family alleges the coach, the town of Portsmouth and several school administrators “breached their duties” to Bruno which “placed mental and emotional stress upon” him in the weeks before his death. They say the defendants failed to tell Bruno’s parents about a police investigation involving him, reassigned him to another physical education class without telling his parents, allowed Moriz to pressure him and failed to meet with the student, who had offered to apologize for making the calls.

Jamestown Detective Derek Carlino, who investigated the case after Moniz filed a complaint, was also accused of sharing confidential police information about Bruno with Moniz. The jury found a former principal and assistant principal at Portsmouth High School as well as Carlino negligent.

“It was just an utter failure, pressuring a boy,” Peter Cerilli, who represented the parents with John Foley, told The Providence Journal. “There was basically bullying by the coach.”

“We have tremendous respect for Judge Licht and the jury system,” Marc DeSisto, who represented the town, told The Associated Press on Friday. “There are fundamental legal issues still pending in the Superior Court and potentially the Rhode Island Supreme Court impacting the determination of whether someone should be held responsible for the suicide of another.”

Melody Alger, who represented Carlino and Jamestown, said her clients were “grateful” not to be found liable for Bruno’s death.

“While Detective Carlino and the Town of Jamestown were disappointed with the finding of negligence, my clients are pleased to have prevailed and grateful that the jury agreed that the Jamestown defendants did not cause Nathan Bruno’s tragic death,” she said in a statement.

The jury awarded the family $3.1 million which, with interest since the boy’s death, would increase to $5.4 million.

Thieving mum stole up to £10k from charity to fund ‘WAG lifestyle’ after claiming her son’s dad was Premier League star

A CROOKED mum stole up to £10,000 from charity to fund her “WAG lifestyle” after claiming her son’s dad was a Premier League star.

Olivia Spencer, 29, pocketed donations from well-wishers while working as a clerk for the Manchester Foundation Charity.

The handouts were meant to help patients at children’s hospitals – including a mum who raised £400 when her daughter suffered a brain tumour.

Instead, Spencer instead used the cash to live a lifestyle ”disproportionate” to her means while claiming her son’s dad was an unnamed footballer.

Social media pictures showed Spencer enjoying fancy cocktails and a lavish holiday to America.

Her scheming was only exposed when donors complained they had not received their usual “thank you” notes when dropping off the cash.

Spencer admitted theft by employee but avoided prison and was instead handed a six month suspended sentence.

Manchester Crown Court heard the mum-of-two began her callous plan in October 2018 while fielding money intended for ten hospitals across Greater Manchester.

She and a colleague were meant to sign a receipt book for each donation made then place the cash in a safe.

Prosecutor Miss Denise Fitzpatrick said: “Olivia Spencer received workplace training but after she began her employment, discrepancies in cash donations became apparent and an investigation was undertaken.

“The discrepancies came to light because donors contacted the charity to ask why they had not received a note of thanks for their respective donations and an acknowledgement of receipt. The receipt book was then checked.”

A probe showed Spencer had fielded cash from donors on 21 different occasions but the the charity had no record of the money being received.

Victims included the mum who donated £400 when her sick daughter was treated at at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RCMH).

A local children’s nursery had also raised money with a cake sale, while a primary school that donated £400 got a letter back saying the charity only received £195.

Spencer had also refused to let college students who gave £274 pose for a photo when the cheque was handed in.

Miss Fitzpatrick said: ”Olivia Spencer was placed on restricted duties but she then phoned in and said she was ill due to work-related stress.

“During the investigation it emerged that whilst working at the charity her description of her lifestyle appeared disproportionate to the income she received.

“She told one of her colleagues that a footballer was the father of her son although she never gave the footballer’s name.”

The court heard investigators could only account for £1,236.30 from nine of the 21 suspicious transactions.

Although the total amount of the remaining donations are not known, it is believed the missing money totals more than £10,000.

As well as a suspended sentence, Spencer was ordered to carry out six days of rehabilitation activity and 180 hours of unpaid work.

Sentencing, Mr Recorder Geoffrey Lowe said a jail term would cause her two children to “suffer”.

Tanya Hamid, director of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, said: “We took immediate action as soon as we realised that cash was missing.

“The investigations led to the employee’s dismissal and the sentence passed today. This sends a strong message that theft or fraud against NHS charities is totally unacceptable.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has continued to support the charity, enabling us to fund excellence in treatment, research and care across our family of hospitals.

“As swift action was taken, we can assure our supporters that this individual has not impacted on our ability to fund life-changing and life-saving projects.”
