    According to the food vlogger, “the harvesting of Ceylon cinnamon remains one of the most intricate and methodical processes in the world of spice cultivation, demanding a mastery that few possess.” “The practice begins with the careful selection of cinnamon trees during the rainy and winter seasons, when the bark’s higher sap content makes peeling more efficient. Each harvester wields a set of specialised implements, including a curved knife for precise cutting, the koketta, engineered specifically for outer bark removal, and the indispensable brass rod, which serves to separate the prized inner bark from the woody stem,” read his caption.     The food vlogger added, “After the meticulous scraping of the outer bark, the craftsmen rub the inner bark vigorously with a brass rod. This helps draw out the sap, which loosens the inner bark from the woody stem.” The craftsmen then “peel the inner bark into continuous strips.” Next, they craft these strips into the signature quills, measuring approximately 42 inches. Smaller pieces are added to ensure stability, and lace can also be used for extra support. The drying process involves keeping the quills in shade and sunlight, which takes 4 to 7 days. After that, a moisture level of 14 percent is attained. “The final grading of these quills adheres to stringent standards, with the most coveted Alba grade requiring a diameter of less than 6 millimeters,” explained the food vlogger.

    A food vlogger recently went viral on social media for her decision to stop working on her YouTube channel that she began three years ago. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nalini Unagar explained what prompted her to make this move, especially after she claimed she spent around 8 lakhs over time building up her YouTube presence. However, she says that she did not get a worthwhile return on this investment. As per her post, she has also deleted 250 videos she had created and shared on the video platform over the years. She began her thread on X by informing people that she was putting the kitchen accessories and studio equipment for sale (she had apparently bought them for her YouTube work).

    She wrote “I failed in my YouTube career, so I’m selling all my kitchen accessories and studio equipment. If anyone is interested in buying, please let me know.” She added, “Let me confess today – I have invested approximately Rs 8 lakhs in my YouTube channel for building a kitchen, buying studio equipment, and promotions. The return? Rs 0.” In a post shared separately from the above thread, she stated “I’m honestly angry with YouTube. I spent my money, and time, and even risked my career to build my channel, but in return, YouTube gave me nothing. It feels like the platform favours certain channels and specific types of videos, leaving others with no recognition despite the hard work.”

    The vlogger’s story has received more than 1 million views on X so far. Many X users encouraged her not to give up and keep trying. Several people shared suggestions for the same. However, the vlogger stood her ground and explained that her decision was final. She wrote, “I’m overwhelmed by your suggestion not to quit YouTube. Let me remind you-I dedicated 3 years to YouTube, creating over 250 videos. However, I didn’t get the response I had hoped for, so I’ve finally decided to stop making videos and have deleted all my content from the platform. Online platforms require a bit of luck too, so it’s wise not to rely on them as a primary source of income. Your “shop” can shut down before you even wake up the next day.”

    In response to another comment, she reiterated, “I think trying for three years is enough. If it were a local business, I could have earned something in return, even a small amount. But with YouTube, you don’t get anything, even after spending so much time.”

    Biryani is one of the most beloved dishes in India. Various regions in the country have their own versions of this delicacy and they take great pride in their distinctive ingredients, flavours and techniques. Recently, a video showing a Texas-based vlogger attempting to make a Kerala-style biryani received a lot of attention on Instagram. It was shared by @barefoodtim (Tim Laielli). The vlogger begins by collecting some whole spices and other key ingredients together, including star anise, cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon, cumin seeds, red chillies, black peppercorns, etc. He blends them together to make his own biryani masala.

    He is then seen slicing onions to prep them for later use. He adds ghee to a saucepan and adds cashew nuts and what looks to be raisins to it. He sautees them together and takes them out after some time. He adds the onions to the same vessel and cooks them for a few minutes. Later, he adds the prepared masala to the pan, along with chicken pieces. He flavours them with more spice powders and flips them over till they’re well-coated. Next, he adds chopped tomatoes, salt and curd to the pan. He covers it and allows the chicken to cook well.

    In the meanwhile, he cooks rice with a handful of whole spices for additional aroma. He returns to the vessel with the chicken and sprinkles some masala and mint leaves on it. He adds a layer of cooked rice on top of it. He garnishes this layer with sauteed onions, cashew nuts and raisins. He adds another layer of rice, followed by another round of garnish. In the end, he is seen serving himself the biryani and tasting it. He declared that every bite was “bursting with flavour.” Watch the complete video below:

Recently, a video featuring Malai roti grabbed many eyeballs on Instagram. It was shared by the influencer @youtubeswadofficial and was shot in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The caption read, “Sabse famous Malai wali Roti. Ek baar life me try zarur karna (The famous Malai roti.     The confectioner added, “Iske upar sir dry fruits dala jata hai – badam hai, kaju hai, javitri, jaiphal, ilaichi hai. Malai ke upar iska swad sir aur behetarein bana dete hai. Ye sirf sau gram ka 100 rupae rehta hai. Ek piece toh takriban 180 rupae ke aas pass rehta hai (Dry fruits are added on top of it – almonds, cashews, nutmeg, mace, and cardamom. It is added to make its taste even better. One piece costs around Rs 180).”

    At the end of the video, after tasting the malai roti, the influencer said, “Sabse achchi baat hai ki bahut hi laajabab iska swad hai” (The best thing is that its taste is amazing).

    Well, this malai roti has failed to impress some foodies in the comments section.

    A user wrote, “Kabi banaras ka naam suna h 50 saalo s yaha malai puri bechi jaa rhi h (Have you heard of Banaras? For the last 50 years, Malai Puri has been sold here).”

Sarthak Sachdeva shared a video on Instagram where he joined a local vendor and worked on his cart. The clip begins with the content creator saying, “Aaj mai dekhunga ek din mein vadapav bechke mai kitne paise kama sakta hu. Subah ki shuruyaat dekhke aur seekhke kiya, phir garam garam vada pav banake. Ek ke baad ek customer aane laage. [Today, I will see how much money I can earn by selling vada pav in a day. I started the morning by observing and learning, then made hot vada pavs. Soon, one customer after another began to arrive.]”

    The content creator was even heard telling a customer, “Aaj mera pehla din hai thele pe [Today is my first day on the food cart].” Then, he said, “Ek vada pav 15 rupae ka tha. Ek ke baad ek customer thele pe aa rahe the aur pata chal raha tha ki subhe subhe vada pav ki kitni demand hoti hai. Aur 2.5 ghante mein kareeb 200 vadapav bik chuke the. [One vada pav costs Rs 15. One after another customers kept coming to the stall, and it was clear how high the demand for vada pav was early in the morning. In about 2.5 hours, around 200 vada pavs had been sold.]”

    By around 4 pm, the vlogger had sold 311 vada pavs. At the end of the day, he and the food cart owner revealed the total sales. After revealing that 622 vada pavs were sold, the content creator said, “Ek din mein karib 9,300 rupae hue, aur mahine ka 2,80,000 rupae. Agar expense nikal diye toh mahine ke honge karib 2,00,000 rupae, aur saal ke 24 lakh rupae [In one day, it is approximately Rs 9,300, and for the month, it is Rs 2,80,000. After deducting expenses, it will be around Rs 2,00,000 per month, and Rs 24 lakh for the year.]”

    A few days after the video was posted, the official handle of Burger King India responded in the comment section, saying, ” Hi, we have forwarded your issue to the concerned team and they shall reach out to you soon. Request your patience in the meantime.” Later, the vlogger followed up on their comment, asking if action had been taken.

    In the same thread, an Instagram user claimed that she had to be hospitalised after having food from Burger King. Tagging the official handle of the brand, she wrote, “I got food poisoning after eating your burger 3 days before at Kirti Nagar Metro station outlet. Please have a look at your outlets. I am at the hospital after this. I suggest everybody boycott Burger King.” Burger King India responded to this comment, stating, “Hi Bhawna, this doesn’t seem right. Please share your contact number, store location and Order ID via DM/ Inbox so we can get this checked.”

After tasting the snack and chatting with the vendor, he discovered that the vendor is actually a PhD student.
    In the video, the vlogger asks the vendor if they have Chicken 65, and the vendor confirms they do. The vlogger mentions that this snack was first created at Hotel Buhari in Chennai but, due to poor reviews, he found this vendor’s stall on Google Maps.     After frying the chicken, the vendor plates it, adds some onions and pepper, and serves it hot. The vlogger is really impressed by how juicy and flavorful the snack is. He then finds out that the vendor also makes chicken cutlets and decides he wants to try that too. The vendor shares that he started his stall 13 years ago when he was just 16 and is now working on his PhD in biotechnology while running the stall part-time.
