When Is Basant Panchami? 5 Yellow Recipes To Sweeten Your Celebration

Basant Panchami (or Vasant Panchami) is just around the corner, and you know what that means: the sun is shining, the weather’s getting perfect, and nature is at its absolute best. This is the time when winter starts fading away and spring steps in with all its glory. Spring is often called the ‘king of all seasons’ – and it totally deserves that title. In the Hindu calendar, Basant Panchami falls on the Panchami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Magh month, and it’s dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. This festival, celebrated across India, has different traditions depending on the region. In the east, it’s all about Saraswati Puja, while the south celebrates it as ‘Shri Panchami’.
